Red Mist Rebirth: The Rise of Victor Lionheart

Chapter 7: Chapter 6: Wrath of the Elemental Lord

Chapter 6: Wrath of the Elemental Lord

Victor Lionheart's eyes sharpened, his pupils narrowing like blades. A faint ripple of energy surged from him as he activated the Rock Shield.

[Rock Shield Activated!]

In an instant, three massive translucent shields appeared around him, each two meters long and rotating in a slow, protective orbit—one at the front, one at the back, and one cycling between the sides. Thanks to his SSS-level talent [Master of the Elements], the strength of the shields skyrocketed. What was once talc-level protection was now diamond-tier defense—indestructible at this stage.

[Effect Enhanced: Rock Shield - Hardness Multiplied x100]

"No physical attack from monsters at this level can break through this." Victor muttered.

In the distance, feral howls echoed—monsters were closing in fast.

Victor reached into his backpack and drew a long, intricately carved staff. It glowed faintly.

[Item Acquired: Staff of Sparks]

Grade: F

Effect: Fire spells consume 5% less brainpower.

Combined with the Elemental Lord's 90% brainpower cost reduction, the total consumption was slashed by 95%. What was once 100 fireballs now became 200.

He turned just as the first enemies appeared.

Grayish-white, canine-bodied creatures snarled and bounded onto the street. Bone spurs jutted out from their backs, their glowing red eyes fixated on Victor.

[Monster Identified: Greyhound]

Level: 12

Grade: Normal

Strength: 18

Brainpower: 1

Victor's expression hardened.

"Seven of them... Five in front, two circling behind to flank me. Smart enough to try a pincer formation. Dangerous."

The greyhounds began their assault, claws scraping at the rock shields. Sparks flew—yet no cracks appeared.

He stumbled slightly under their combined strength.

"Individually strong... but not unstoppable."

They began circling, probing for weaknesses.

Victor raised his staff.

A massive fireball materialized, triple the size of his earlier ones—half the height of a grown man. The air warped from the heat.

The greyhounds hesitated, tails between their legs. Then they activated Stone Skin, their bodies hardening like statues. But Victor only chuckled.

"Too late."

He hurled the fireball toward the two nearest monsters.

BOOM!

A pillar of silver-white flame exploded upward. The high-temperature blast engulfed the greyhounds, their screeches dying in seconds. The intensity reduced them to ash.

[System Notification]

Congratulations! Fireball upgraded to Level 4!

You have killed 2 Greyhounds. Experience gained.

Two thin streams of golden light rose from the ashes and merged with Victor's body. His experience bar surged—30% progress toward the next level.

"If only I had the Hundredfold Experience talent…" he sighed, then quickly moved on.

Now empowered by Level 4, Fireball had grown four times its original size.

Victor cast again.

This time, the greyhounds scattered, avoiding clustering together. It took five fireballs, but he eliminated the remaining five enemies, each going down in fiery blasts.

[System Notification]

Level Up! You are now Level 11.

Fireball Proficiency Increased.

To reach Fireball Level 5, he needed more practice. Victor cast fireballs five more times at the empty road, scorching the pavement and turning the street into a lava field.

[System Notification]

Fireball has reached Level 5!

Special Effect Unlocked: EXPLOSION!

Victor's next fireball was monstrous—about the size of a water tank. It glowed a menacing purplish-red, wrapped in wisps of black energy.

He grinned.

"Let's see how strong you really are."

Dragging the fireball behind him, he strode to People's Square.

The plaza was eerily quiet, abandoned.

With a deep breath, Victor launched the ultimate fireball into the square's center.

KABOOOM!

The explosion shook the earth. Blinding light and shockwaves erupted outward. Trees bent, dust clouded the sky, and the very air vibrated with heat.

Victor had to shield his eyes. When the smoke cleared, he looked.

The once-spacious People's Square was gone—replaced by a massive crater. Debris and cracked earth surrounded the impact zone.

"That power... That was the strength of a level 40 elite."

His heart pounded with awe and satisfaction.

The Lord of the Elements had arrived. And he was unstoppable.
