To be honest, interrogations aren't my favourite part of war. Although there's nothing I love about war at all, it's the interrogations that I hate the most. But this time I need one. As immoral as it sounds, I have to personally finish off a prisoner after interrogation, though more like after torture. Still, to call it an interrogation would be a lie.

To be honest, although I didn't like the job, I was good at it. Although I was rather more skilled at quick field interrogations, but this interrogation went quite smoothly and now I felt the fourth soul entering the system.

A young boy in a strange military camp is fighting someone at knives. His opponent is impersonal, because that doesn't matter here, only skill. The pictures of various orders and subsequent murders alternate one after another until they come to an end.

Now the boy, under the guidance of a middle-aged woman, trains in shooting and learns quite ordinary social morals. All of the boy's emotions are barely felt, as if they don't exist at all. The boy learns some languages and quite ordinary academic knowledge, together with shooting training, in which he shows all his best qualities.

After that the whole environment changes again and the boy is already in a military unit. There he improves his shooting skills again and becomes better in many ways. He overcomes his weakness in seeing the dislike of shooting at people. He becomes an adult and fully serves the army as one of the best.

Next, many scenes are interspersed where the now grown up guy has sex with many women, in a variety of ways.

And after that the guy fights again, but with a much more dangerous, equal opponent. This time his face is not depersonalised, and it's no longer a young man with a sly face that somehow evokes a sense of disgust. This battle becomes really hard, but the guy wins....

I woke up abruptly and looked around. I was still in the same position standing in the same spot. Glancing at my watch, I realised that not a second had passed, as even the second hand was in the same place before I was absorbed. However, despite this, one should not use absorption in combat, except in the most lose-lose situation, when there are no other options. And my body. I feel stronger, much stronger. It's like I've changed, and significantly. Every muscle in my body is stronger now. But for all that, I feel like I'm weaker than Yugi, a gut feeling. Even though I'm a little bit weaker than Yugi.

Still, my original strength along with half of Yuuji's strength fell a little short of his full strength. That's okay. I still have three more summons. And I think I'll get at least one to absorb. The peak of human strength I have to take.

A very interesting character that I also quite like, but unfortunately I will devour him. He's very intelligent after all, and also seems to have an eidetic memory. I'm going to absorb him right away.

Thanks to his intelligence, he was able to learn almost all the languages of his world, including the dead ones. Here he becomes disillusioned with social life and closes himself off. Now only the depersonalised female figure who appeared in his childhood is around him. He and she together excel in all intellectual games always. Their pair is simply impossible to beat.

But here they are challenged by someone in chess. Memories of the duel pass instantly, despite its duration. After that, a strange phrase from the opponent they defeated flashes before his eyes and darkness sets in.

This time, the memories are much less, and the emotions are also less. But I feel more of a bitter taste now, unlike last time. My mind is thinking and acting in different terms. It feels like I just can't adopt this guy's "genius". I feel like I can memorise anything now. I know many languages, and I can deceive and control people much more effectively. But this sense of genius I just don't have. I just think faster and more efficiently now. Oh, well...

Even though intelligence is clearly a very useful trait, I still need more power right now. And so I will once again perform the summoning, in hopes of getting lucky.

Wow, that's exactly what I need. While I'd love to summon him, his experience is deadly important to me. This will definitely save me from death. And I will sink back into memories, and remembering him, memories of endless suffering.

First, there's silence. The usual basic training of any soldier, not counting the training in the strange exoskeleton. It goes by in what seems like seconds, giving me nothing new.

After that comes the battle... and death. Followed by another battle. With each death, the guy gets more experienced and stronger. Training with a depersonalised soldier and improving his skills.

And then death again, followed by death. Gradually with experience comes skill. The guy learnt to divide every second into even smaller moments, watching every movement of the enemy. Even though he is able to respond to some of the blows, he sees them as if in slow motion.

Once again, death follows training. Life is getting greyer and more monotonous each time. The guy learns to perfectly control literally every muscle in his body, using everything as efficiently as possible. He already simply does not know what mistakes in battle are. But everything dies every time.

Until something special happens. He meets someone different from the rest. The still impersonal girl seems to take on a new colour. Together they do the almost impossible and kill all the opponents... but the guy finds himself back in the past again. And then they both realise it's time for the final battle.

And it ends up being a fight against an equal opponent. A fight where two perfect soldiers fight on equal footing, but neither of them makes any real effort to win. But the guy still turns out to be the winner, which does not please him in any way.

After that there are battles again, but without deaths. As if endless, but soon they end. And the guy, already being an experienced warrior, trains ordinary recruits in peacetime. And that's it.

This was already much more interesting. And more useful. Much more useful. Although I didn't get his ability to be reborn after death, but his experience and skills are very powerful. Just what I needed. And besides, I can already feel my physique surpassing both Kiriya Keiji and Kazami Yuji, which is awesome.

It's safe to say that I should complete the next mission almost perfectly. However, surprises always happen, and that includes me.

But right now, the most important thing for me is to prepare....
