Reborn with a Space: Building a Fortune Amidst Famine

Chapter 415: 415 Moving House

The children walked into the inn with their heads down.

Su Yuanyuan squatted down and looked at the three children.

"Remember, this is wrong. You can't touch other people's things without permission.

And these corns aren't ripe yet. Picking them now would be wasting food."

All three nodded. Su Yuanyuan knew they understood, and this habit shouldn't be encouraged.

The nearby kids were also listening. So they stopped going into the cornfield.

Su Yuanyuan was quite satisfied with this. As for those older ones who were being inconsistent, it had nothing to do with her.

Their families didn't care, and she had already spoken about it. What they did was their own decision.

After playing outside for nearly two hours, the three children happily took their trophies and sat in the car to go back.

The kids' clothes were all dirty, and running around in such hot August weather, they obviously sweated. So Su Yuanyuan gave them baths and changed their clothes.

They fell asleep while drinking milk, but they put the grasshoppers in their toy box. Su Yuanyuan thought they probably wanted to show off to Tan Shaoting.

There was dinner available here. After seeing the kids had slept for half an hour, Su Yuanyuan woke them up.

The three looked dazed and particularly adorable.

"Qi Yan, Qi Hong, Qi Wen. Let's wash up and have dinner."

"Mom, pine nut corn."

"When Dad comes back, and we have a home, I'll make it for you."

The four of them washed up, and Su Yuanyuan carried a cloth bag. Inside were their rice bowls and lunch boxes.

As they left, she saw a few corn cobs thrown at the door.

Su Yuanyuan chuckled coldly. Thinking to herself, there really are quite a few people with bad intentions.

She kicked them to the side and took the three children to dinner.

The two children watching in the shadows saw Su Yuanyuan's action and felt unsatisfied with it. So, after they left, they put the corn cobs back at their door.

Su Yuanyuan sneered in her heart, truly unimpressed with such poor character.

Tonight, they served corn gruel. And cornbread.

Su Yuanyuan saw the gruel and cornbread weren't fully cooked. It wasn't a big deal for adults, but the children had sensitive stomachs, so she didn't dare let them eat it.

So, she only got one cornbread. They gave her a chopstick of mixed wild vegetables and another cornbread, enough for herself.

She held the three children's hands and went back to the room. She saw the corn again and kicked it to the side.

"Mom, I'm hungry."

"Alright, let's go back to the room to eat."

After entering the room, Su Yuanyuan let them sit down. She went to the corner to search the bag, but she was actually retrieving the rice porridge from the space. This was previously made lean pork and shrimp porridge.

She got them to sit down and eat. The door was open. She saw two children peeking in.

Seeing Su Yuanyuan notice them, they ran away scared.

What cowards, she thought, such deceitful and bad people won't achieve much in the future.

The three children each had a small bowl of porridge, then she gave them each a piece of cake and a few grapes.

Su Yuanyuan only ate the porridge and wild vegetables. She really didn't want to eat the cornbread.

After eating, she cleaned up and took the three for a stroll in the yard; now the mosquitoes had become quite numerous. They only stayed outside for about fifteen minutes. Then she pacified them and took them back inside.

She bathed them again and told them stories.

Two hours later, when Tan Shaoting came back, the children were already sound asleep.

"Yuanyuan, the corn outside?"

Su Yuanyuan recounted what happened in the afternoon.

Tan Shaoting shook his head. The qualities of such kids really weren't good.

He went straight to take a shower in the room, then sat down to eat.

"Yuanyuan, we'll be leaving here tomorrow. I've been assigned to Leader Zeng's place. They've arranged housing for us there."

Tan Shaoting knew his wife didn't like that environment, and it was quite far from the city. He couldn't come home every day, so he was quite conflicted.

"How long do you plan to do this job?"

"I've already submitted an application. But it hasn't been approved. However, I'll have more free time in the future and won't need to go out often.

We'll see how things go. It's uncertain right now."

"Alright. Then we'll go together."

Actually, living there now wasn't a big deal. In the future, they wouldn't easily make or take things anymore, so it didn't matter where they were.

Tan Shaoting had ideas, but Su Yuanyuan rejected them.

"After we move, and the kids have their own rooms, we'll talk about it."

Tan Shaoting lay on the bed panting, comforting himself that tomorrow they'd have a home.

At night, taking care of the kids was Tan Shaoting's job. When they saw their dad was back, the four of them ended up playing for over an hour at night.

But they kept their voices low, knowing Mom was asleep.

The next day, it was Tan Shaoting who went to get breakfast.

"Just get a little. Last night's porridge wasn't cooked, the kids won't eat it."

Tan Shaoting returned with the lunch box. The three children were already eating.

Breakfast was shrimp and lean pork wontons.

"Yuanyuan, you don't need to eat the porridge. I'll eat it myself."

Su Yuanyuan laughed and didn't force herself. She had a bowl of eight-treasure porridge.

At eight o'clock, a jeep arrived to move them.

Others would be scheduled in the next few days, but Tan Shaoting was the first.

That was the glory of a man. It could be said that everyone envied their family.

After they left, people dared to speak.

"Well, someone with such sophistication surely has the capital to back it up."

"Yeah, I heard he's been promoted again."

"Xiao Tan is good-looking and capable, how did he end up with that tigress?"

No one responded to this, as their fierce reputation was well-remembered by everyone.

Their family entered the garrison directly. They had been arranged a small yard, and the most convenient thing was that it had electricity. This was what Su Yuanyuan was most satisfied with.

The house was cleaned up. The kitchen equipment was comprehensive. There was even grain and oil prepared.

Su Yuanyuan teased Tan Shaoting, "They really invested to keep you here."

Tan Shaoting just laughed. He realized this too, but if he had to go out often in the future, he really couldn't do it.

He slowly organized the luggage they brought over.

"Tomorrow you have to make a trip, even the sheep have to be brought in openly."

"Alright, I got it. We'll go out together this afternoon; there are still some things that need to be handled openly."

"Alright. Let's go out now."

It was really about getting some extra tableware, luggage, food, meat, and such.

"I'll drive. I'll be back soon." Tan Shaoting left with a smile.
