Reborn In The Shadow

Chapter 7: Chapter 7: The War Rages On

The city of Niriven burned under the assault of the mechanical invaders. Explosions rattled the ground as the Paragons fought desperately to hold their ground. Among the chaos, Leon stood tall, his sword gleaming under the red glow of the fires around him. Before him towered the Titan Robot, a behemoth of steel and energy, standing over thirty feet tall with massive arms capable of crushing entire buildings.

Leon tightened his grip on his sword, his eyes sharp as he analyzed his opponent. The Titan's red eyes locked onto him, and in an instant, it lunged forward, throwing a punch that shattered the concrete road.

Leon leaped into the air, dodging the blow, then twisted mid-air to slash at the Titan's arm. Sparks flew as his blade met steel, leaving a deep cut, but the monster barely flinched. Instead, it retaliated with a devastating backhand, sending Leon crashing through a nearby building.

Leon groaned, wiping blood from his lips as he stood up. "This is going to be a long fight."

Leon's eyes began to glow faintly, his power activating—his ability to see the future and past. As he analyzed possible outcomes, he saw glimpses of the battle, moments before they happened. With this knowledge, he steadied his stance, prepared to take control of the fight.

Meanwhile, August faced off against Big Metal. The towering robot grinned, its metallic teeth gleaming.

"You Paragons are all talk," Big Metal sneered. "Let's see what you can really do."

August summoned his massive glowing blue hands and charged, throwing a barrage of punches. Each strike echoed through the battlefield, sending shockwaves through the air. But Big Metal took each hit head-on, barely denting under the force.

Then, with a mighty swing of its arm, Big Metal sent August flying. He crashed through a pile of rubble, struggling to stand as pain coursed through his body.

Big Metal advanced. "You're weak. Time to end this."

August barely had time to react as a massive energy blast shot toward him.

Just before it could hit, a shadow flickered in front of him. The blast vanished into the darkness. August coughed, looking up. Standing before him, katanas dripping with oil from defeated machines, was Michael.

Big Metal turned its glowing eyes toward the newcomer. "Who the hell are you?"

Michael tilted his head, his mask gleaming in the firelight. "The guy who's about to tear you apart."

Michael struck first.

In the blink of an eye, he vanished into the shadows, appearing behind Big Metal and slicing through its armor. Sparks flew as metal was torn apart. Big Metal roared, swinging wildly, but Michael danced through the battlefield, using the shadows to warp around his opponent, slicing deeper and deeper into its frame.

Big Metal staggered back, but it wasn't finished yet.

Elsewhere, Ember and Scarlet entered the war zone.

Scarlet scoffed, her red armor glowing under the city lights. "So this is what we're dealing with? Just a bunch of oversized tin cans?"

Ember, her voice calm as always, adjusted the glowing diamond plating on her suit. "Don't underestimate them. They've already taken out several of our strongest fighters."

Scarlet grinned. "All the more reason to burn them to ash."

Without hesitation, she transformed her entire body into red-hot steel and charged into battle. Robots crumbled under her sheer force as she slashed through them like butter.

Meanwhile, Ember stood back, channeling energy into her armor. A massive beam of light shot from her hands, annihilating dozens of robots in a single strike.

The war was escalating.

At the heart of the battlefield, Celine finally made her move.

Her long cloak billowed as she floated above the ruins of the city. A swarm of portals materialized behind her, each one glowing with golden energy.

With a flick of her wrist, they opened, unleashing a barrage of weapons and reinforcements from across different locations. The robots had no chance.

One of the enemy commanders, a four-armed mechanical robot, leaped toward her, but she barely glanced at him before opening a portal beneath him.

The robot fell through, and another portal opened above, dropping him straight into the line of fire from his own forces. He was obliterated instantly.

"You never had a chance," she whispered, watching the battle unfold.

Meanwhile, deep in a secret control room, a lone warlord watched the battle unfold through massive screens. His fingers drummed against the console, his expression unreadable.

Suddenly, the door slid open.

The mad scientist entered, his robotic gloves humming with energy. He smirked, tilting his head.

"Warlord," he said. "Your time has come."

The warlord barely had time to react before the scientist lunged, his gloves sparking with deadly power.

As chaos raged outside, another battle was about to begin...
