Chapter 864: Chapter 858 An Hao’s Worries_1
Chu Xiaoqiao moved into the two rooms adjacent to Xue Ling’s, connecting all three of their rooms. This arrangement meant the three of them would not disturb Qin Xue and her husband while still providing companionship. Chu Xiaoqiao found the decision advantageous.
Looking at the items Qin Xue brought home — various types of chicken, pig stomach, and even a big bag of white radishes — An Hao couldn’t figure out what delicious food Qin Xue had in mind.
In fact, the radish was something Qin Xue had taken from another place to teach Chu Xiaoqiao how to make crispy radish and hot and sour radish.
“Qin Xue, what are you planning to cook with all this? Can we really finish it all?” An Hao asked Qin Xue.
“We’ll have one portion, and the other will be for my husband, Chu Molin. No need to worry.” Qin Xue continued her work quickly, without pausing.
“Your affection shows.” An Hao didn’t know what else to say. Many thoughts that were difficult for her to articulate came out easily and naturally in Qin Xue’s presence. It seemed as though this was how it should be, making An Hao quite envious of Qin Xue’s easy-going attitude.
“Why are you looking at me like that, do I have something on my face?” Qin Xue asked, feeling a little strange at An Hao’s gaze.
“No, Qin Xue, I have never met anyone like you. Truly, your carefree nature is so desirable. It’s like an eagle circling in the sky.” An Hao looked at Qin Xue fixedly, reflecting on why she enjoyed Qin Xue’s company so much — it was because it made her feel comfortable.
“Actually, you can do it too. Just think less about certain things. Or think about how many people in the world have it worse than us. The beggars, the orphans — once you start thinking this way, you’ll realize how lucky we are.” Qin Xue said, smiling. Life can be hard when you worry too much. To live a relaxed life, one needs to let go of burdens.
“Qin Xue, have you ever hated anyone?” An Hao asked, looking at Qin Xue’s demeanor. Such a nice person couldn’t possibly hold a grudge, could she?
“Of course, I have. Who lives without experiencing a range of emotions? But it depends on what kind of hatred and whether the person is worth it,” Qin Xue answered. She had certainly felt resentment in her previous life against her negligent father, her frugal stepmother, and her boastful stepsister. But now, none of them seemed worth the concern. She would rather spend her time learning or being with Chu Molin.
“An Hao, is there something bothering you? Anything you would like to share with me?” Qin Xue asked, sensing An Hao’s inner struggles and feeling certain that something must’ve happened to make her ask such a question.
“Not really. It’s just a minor issue. I am slightly confused about something, that’s all.” An Hao said in a low voice, seemingly talking to herself more than to Qin Xue.
“What kind of minor issue? If you can’t figure it out, just speak up. Two heads are better than one, aren’t they? As the saying goes, three cobblers together can match the wisdom of Zhuge Liang.” Qin Xue tried to console An Hao.
“My parents recently told me that they want to have another child. I’m already a few months pregnant — wouldn’t their newborn be younger than my child? I don’t understand why they would do this.” An Hao was unclear about her parents’ intentions. They had neglected her during her childhood, and now, when she was married and pregnant, they were talking about giving her a younger sibling.
