Reborn As Yamcha With The Cultivations System

Chapter 1: Rebirth

So yeah, I died. I don't remember much about myself; no name, no face. It's like someone just hit a reset button on my identity, but for some reason, everything else stayed intact. I don't even know where I am now.

I glanced around, taking in the strange, endless void, when I suddenly felt a surge of energy. Turning around, I spotted it—a dragon, its massive, otherworldly presence filling the space. And it was looking right at me.

The dragon observed me with an amused gleam in its eye. "Ah, a new soul. And right after Finn, too. This is going to be interesting. Get up."

I pushed myself to my feet, staring up at the dragon. "Who... who are you?"

The dragon let out a low chuckle, its voice echoing around us. "I am the Dragon of Rebirth. Let's get started with your journey, shall we?"

With a flick of its claw, two enormous wheels descended out of thin air, clattering to a stop in front of me. The wheels spun slowly, gleaming with unfamiliar symbols and images.

I stared, trying to wrap my head around this. "Is this… like a fanfic or something?"

The dragon chuckled again, a mischievous look in its eyes. "Come on, spin the wheel. Let's see which world you're headed to."

I walked up to the first colorful wheel and gave it a spin. Colors blurred together in a dizzying whirl until, finally, it stopped. The words appeared clearly in front of me.

I read them out loud, blinking in disbelief. "Dragon Ball Model: All." My eyes narrowed at that last word. "All? What does that mean?"

The dragon chuckled, clearly amused. "Tell me, are you familiar with GT, Dragon Ball Z Abridged, Dragon Ball AF, Dragon Ball Super?"

The meaning of All hit me like a truck. My jaw dropped. "Oh, you have got to be kidding me."

The Dragon didn't bother to hide its amusement. It chuckled again, watching me process the overwhelming reality.

"Yep," it said, in a voice that almost sounded like it was enjoying my horror. "You'll be experiencing all of it, the whole shebang. The entire Dragon Ball multiverse—canon, non-canon, and everything in between."

I took a shaky breath, trying to keep my voice steady. "So… it's not just one storyline, but every single version of Dragon Ball? Even the ones that don't officially connect?"

The dragon nodded, still smiling. "Precisely. Every saga, every crossover, every what-if scenario. You're part of the Dragon Ball All Model, and trust me, it's going to keep you… entertained."

"Entertained?" I repeated, feeling the weight of his words sink in. "You mean tortured."

The Dragon grinned, but didn't deny it. "Now, there's still one more spin. Your character. Let's see who you're going to be."

Another wheel appeared beside the first. It was filled with familiar faces from the series, every character from lowly minions to the strongest warriors.

I hesitated, staring at it. This was my only shot. With a deep breath, I reached out and spun the wheel. The images blurred together, faster and faster, until it finally started to slow, each image clicking into place.

It stopped.

I stared at the result, my face twisting between disbelief and resignation. "Yamcha?"

I looked at the dragon in disbelief, my voice rising in frustration. "Why Yamcha? Why not Krillin or, hell, even Bardock? Those guys actually do something!"

The dragon shrugged, a playful glint in its eye. "Hey, it could be worse. Just be happy you didn't land in the SCP Universe."

I blinked, my mind racing at the thought. "Wait, the SCP Universe? You mean with all those anomalies and the constant threat of reality-bending horrors? That sounds like a nightmare!"

The dragon nodded, a satisfied grin spreading across its face. "Exactly. Here, you at least have the chance to grow stronger and make a name for yourself. Plus, there are some advantages to being Yamcha."

"Advantages?" I repeated, skepticism dripping from my tone. "Like what? Being the punchline of every joke?"

"More like the potential for a comeback," the dragon replied, its tone turning serious. "Yamcha has a lot of untapped potential.

I sighed, trying to find some semblance of optimism. "Alright, fine. I'll give it a shot. But if I end up as a joke, I'm blaming you."

The dragon chuckled. "Fair enough. Now, let's get to it. Your rebirth is waiting."

Before the dragon sent me off, a voice broke through the atmosphere, drawing my attention to a few figures approaching the dragon.

"What is this?" I asked, eyeing the newcomers with curiosity.

The dragon turned to me, a hint of amusement in its gaze. "Oh, looks like the Wheel of Powers is fixed. After a certain someone broke it."

In the multiverse, a particular version of Charlemagne—who went by the name Charlomaine—suddenly sneezed, causing a ripple of energy to spread through the air. The dragon cast a sidelong glance at him, clearly unimpressed.

"Alright, spin the wheel and see what powers you'll get," the dragon said, gesturing to a new wheel that materialized beside me.

I looked at the wheel, and my heart raced. It displayed an array of incredible abilities—from the powers of The One Above All from Marvel to broken techniques like Full Counter and even the abilities of Grand Servants from Fate/Grand Order. Each one was more enticing than the last.

"Come on, come on…" I muttered under my breath, hoping for something truly epic.

I spun the wheel, watching the colors blur together. It slowed down and finally stopped, landing on the word System. My brow furrowed. "System? What type of System?"

Before I could ponder it further, the wheel spun again, landing on another word.

I stared at the new term. "Wait… Cultivation System: Mode Ki? Like those Chinese web novels and comics?"

The dragon nodded enthusiastically. "Exactly! You'll be able to cultivate your ki, growing stronger over time just like the heroes you know from those stories. You'll have access to various techniques and transformations, making you a formidable opponent."

I couldn't help but grin at the idea. "So, I'm not just stuck being Yamcha. I can actually grow and become powerful?"

"Absolutely," the dragon replied. "This system will let you train, learn new abilities, and unlock your potential. You might even surprise those around you."

With newfound determination, I straightened my posture. "Alright! Let's do this. Time to show everyone that Yamcha is more than just a punchline!"

"Good luck, Yamcha," the dragon said, its voice echoing as the landscape around me began to shimmer again.

As I prepared for my new life, I felt a rush of excitement and a hint of anxiety. But deep down, I knew I was ready to take on the challenge ahead. I was going to carve out my own path in the Dragon Ball universe—one step at a time.

Yamcha opened his eyes, blinking against the bright light filtering through the trees. As his vision cleared, he took in his surroundings: a dense forest, vibrant with life and filled with the sounds of chirping birds and rustling leaves. However, the tranquility was short-lived.

Before he could fully process his situation, a wave of nausea hit him. He doubled over, spewing the contents of his stomach onto the forest floor. The taste was bitter, and as he cleaned his mouth with the back of his hand, he grimaced.

"Ugh, what the hell?" he muttered, feeling the remnants of alcohol lingering on his tongue. "So this is what being reborn feels like? Why do I taste alcohol?"

Trying to shake off the dizziness, he rose unsteadily to his feet, taking a moment to steady himself. The forest around him felt eerily familiar yet completely foreign. "I'm in a forest," he said to himself, "but which one? Is this the one near West City or somewhere entirely different?"

He glanced up at the sky, searching for any clues. The sun was shining brightly, and the air was warm. Great, he thought. I just hope I'm not stuck in some weird dimension or alternate reality where dinosaurs roam or something.

Suddenly, the memories of his past life surged back—his failures, his friends, the battles, and, most importantly, his determination to prove himself. "Alright, Yamcha," he said, shaking his head to clear the lingering dizziness. "Time to figure this out."

He took a deep breath and began to walk, carefully navigating through the underbrush. The thrill of being reborn washed over him again. "With this cultivation system, I can finally become stronger!" he declared, determination growing within him. "I won't just be the punchline. I'll be a force to be reckoned with!"

As he moved deeper into the forest, he couldn't shake the feeling that he wasn't alone. The energy in the air felt charged, almost electric. He paused, trying to focus on the sensation. It wasn't just the remnants of his hangover; there was something more, a ki signature nearby.

"Looks like it's time for my first training session," he muttered, a grin creeping onto his face. "Let's see what this rebirth has in store for me."

With newfound purpose, Yamcha set off toward the source of the energy, ready to embrace whatever challenges awaited him in this new life.

Yamcha closed his eyes, focusing inward, and to his surprise, a blue, video game-like screen materialized in front of him. It flickered to life, displaying a welcoming message that read:

[Good morning, Host! Welcome to your new life. If you're wondering what happened to the original Yamcha's soul… um... don't question it.]

Yamcha blinked at the screen, his brow furrowing. "Okay, I'm going to ignore that," he muttered, shaking his head. "What can you do, Cultivation System?"

The screen glowed brightly as it responded:

[Cultivation System Overview:]

Yamcha stared at the screen, a mix of excitement and apprehension bubbling within him. "So, I can actually level up and gain real powers," he said, feeling a surge of motivation. "This is going to be awesome!"

"Ki Sense?" he continued, intrigued. "What does that entail?"

[Ki Sense allows you to detect the ki signatures of other beings nearby. This will help you locate allies, enemies, and hidden threats.]

Yamcha nodded, a grin forming on his face. "This is just what I need. If I can sense ki, I'll know when trouble is coming or when someone's looking to fight. Plus, I can train and grow stronger without just being the punching bag!"

With renewed determination, he closed the screen and opened his eyes. "Alright, let's put this to the test. Time to see what kind of ki signatures I can find around here."

He concentrated, letting his senses expand outward, feeling the energy around him. It was overwhelming at first, but he focused, tuning out the distractions.

As he stood there, he began to distinguish various signatures in the area. Some felt faint and weak, likely small animals or plants, while others pulsed with greater energy.

Then, he sensed something nearby—stronger, more distinct. Yamcha's eyes widened as he pinpointed a powerful ki signature just beyond the treeline.

"Looks like I'm not alone after all," he whispered to himself, adrenaline kicking in. "Time to check this out!"

With a mix of excitement and trepidation, Yamcha moved swiftly toward the source of the energy, eager to see who or what awaited him. This was his chance to prove himself, and he wasn't going to waste it.

Yamcha paused for a moment, considering his new situation and the information he needed. "So, what do I do now?" he asked the system, his voice tinged with curiosity. "Do I follow the typical progression like in those cultivation novels? And do I get a starting package? Also, what time period am I in? Is it before or after Raditz?"

The system's blue screen flickered to life again, displaying a series of notifications.

[Welcome to the Cultivation System! Here's what you need to know:

1. Starting Package: As a new host, you will receive a starting package that includes basic training gear, a beginner's cultivation manual, and a few energy-enhancing items.

2. Time Period: You have been reborn into the Dragon Ball Z timeline, specifically before the arrival of Raditz. This means you have the opportunity to train and prepare for the coming threats, including the Saiyan Saga.

3. Cultivation Process: To cultivate, you will need to practice and train regularly. Engage in physical training, meditation, and combat scenarios to increase your power levels. You can also gain experience through quests and challenges that will enhance your skills and unlock new abilities.

4. Quest Notification: Your first quest is now available: [Begin your Training! Unleash your Ki Sense and locate the Ki signature nearby. Successfully engage and assess the strength of the ki user to gain experience points.]

Yamcha's excitement surged as he processed the information. "So I have some time before things get serious. This is perfect!" he exclaimed. "And a starting package? Yes, please!"

He imagined the possibilities. Training before the Saiyan invasion could give him a substantial edge. Plus, with the ability to sense ki, he could gauge threats before they became a problem.

"Alright, let's check out this starting package!" he said, feeling eager to see what it included.

[Loading Starting Package…]

A new window appeared, displaying the contents of his package:

1. Beginner's Gi: A lightweight training outfit that enhances mobility.

2. Ki Control Manual: A comprehensive guide to understanding and manipulating ki.

3. Energy Boosting Pills (x3): Temporarily enhances physical capabilities and ki output.

4. Training Weights (x2): Wearable weights that will increase the difficulty of physical training.

5. Beginner's Healing Salve (x1): A basic restorative item for minor injuries.

Yamcha grinned from ear to ear as he read through the list. "Not bad at all! With these, I can start training right away." He quickly imagined himself powered up and more confident, not just the butt of jokes.

"Okay," he said, focusing on the ki signature again, "I'll head toward that energy source. But first, let me equip my gi and grab those weights."

After a moment of concentration, he envisioned the training gear materializing around him. With a shimmer of energy, the lightweight gi appeared, fitting snugly against his body. He felt an instant sense of comfort and readiness.

Next, he attached the training weights to his arms and legs. They felt surprisingly light but had a faint pull that reminded him they were there. "Alright, time to go!"

With his new gear in place, Yamcha set off toward the ki signature, excitement bubbling within him. Each step felt charged with potential, and he was ready to face whatever awaited him. No longer just Yamcha—the guy who always seemed to fall short—he was ready to embrace his new life and destiny.
