Reborn As Noble

Chapter 776: Runes and Japanese Code ( 776 )

Then Javier looked steadily at Lograc.

"And you? Will you come with me in the other drone?"

Lograc smiled softly and nodded.

"Yes. I'll go with you—and the officers and advisor can come too. That way it's balanced."

"Good," Javier said with a calm nod.

Behind him, Liana and Gloria spoke at once.

"Young Master!!!"

Javier lifted a hand, his smile gentle but firm. "Just for a moment, Liana. Gloria. Only for this flight."

Before Javier could arrange anything further, Gumarak's gaze swept the interior of the main drone.

His eyes widened.

"Eh!? Isn't that Lioness's daughters? And Veldrac's little sister too?" He pointed at Felicia, Mimi, and Delya, who were already sitting inside.

"What are they doing here?! Don't tell me… don't tell me those two loud bastards are already in Armand!"

Javier's smile grew stiff, and Liana and Gloria coughed to hide their amusement.

"I knew it!" Gumarak shouted, his beard bristling.

"Those two fools are already there, waiting for me to slap me bald! I'm not going!!"

He turned quickly, surprisingly fast for his size, ready to run.

But before Gumarak could take more than two steps, there was a sharp smack!

The queen's folded fan hit the side of his neck with perfect precision. Gumarak froze, his eyes rolled back, and he fell forward in a heap. Foam bubbled at the corner of his mouth as his limbs twitched.

The queen lowered her fan, her expression calm as ever.

"My, my, what are you doing, dear husband?" she said sweetly, stepping past his prone body. "Falling asleep in the middle of our trip to Armand? How careless."

With practiced grace, the queen bent down, gathered the fabric around his collar, and dragged Gumarak's broad body across the stone floor as if he weighed no more than a sack of grain.

His boots scraped loudly, his beard still twitching faintly with foam at the corner of his mouth.

When she stepped into the main drone, her presence filled the cabin with calm authority.

Mimi, Delya, and Felicia rose from their seats. In perfect unison, the three princesses lowered their heads and curtsied lightly, their voices calm and measured.

"Your Majesty."

The queen's smile softened, her eyes moving across the three.

"My, my—what a sight. Three young princesses gathered together in one place. How lively tonight shall be."

Meanwhile.

Liana's glare was sharp. Her arms were crossed tightly as she stood beside him. Gloria's gaze, cool behind her glasses, made the pressure worse.

"Err… Liana? Gloria?" Javier asked carefully, raising an eyebrow.

"I'm not going to be far from you, Young Master," Liana said, her voice steady.

Javier sighed, rubbing the back of his neck. "It's just for a moment. It's not like I'm leaving you both forever."

"No means no," Liana snapped back.

Gloria adjusted her glasses with a quiet click and added in a calm voice, "Even if you explain it later, surely Lord Garius will understand our choice. We are your personal maids, and more than that. Our place is at your side. Always."

Javier paused, then exhaled heavily. …I really can't win with these two.

He scratched his cheek, smiling weakly. "You both know this means I'll be surrounded on all sides, right? Kings, queens, princesses, generals, and now the two of you glaring at anyone who breathes near me. Peaceful, huh?"

Liana grinned. "Exactly."

Gloria's lips curved slightly. "It is for your own good, Young Master."

"Fine… I'll arrange the seating first. You two go ahead and board the main drone," Javier said, pointing to the ramp.

But neither Liana nor Gloria moved. They stayed at his side, their faces unchanged.

Javier sighed, hand on his face. These two really…

Giving up, he turned to Lograc and the royal officers waiting nearby.

"I'm sorry, Lograc. It seems the second transport drone will be for you and the other officers only."

Lograc laughed softly, not offended. "Fine by me, Javier. I don't mind. As long as I know this craft is safe."

"Safe?" Javier asked with a small smile, his hand brushing the hovering runes on the screen.

"I'll set the program myself. The drone will follow the main drone's flight path exactly. No detours, no mistakes."

Lograc's smile grew wider. "Then I have no doubts. I trust your hands more than any words."

Javier bowed slightly. "Appreciate it."

Javier lifted his hand and brushed his fingers across the floating panel of runes and glyphs. Only he could read them. Lines of text and code appeared, in foreign letters.

Japanese. The language of his old world.

His eyes narrowed as he focused. He muttered under his breath, his fingertips moving quickly and precisely. "This program… here, and this one… here. Sensor alignment, good. Stability feed, stable. Hmm… this area needs a recheck. Adjust… there."

The runes flickered and briefly merged with his own personal characters, the system adapting to his custom sequence. To anyone watching, it looked like Javier was weaving a complex web of light, symbols flowing and snapping into place like gears in a machine.

Liana tilted her head, trying to understand, then gave up. Gloria pushed her glasses up with a small, quiet smile, her eyes shining with pride.

Only he could make something like this.

"All right, everything is ready," Javier said to Lograc with a small nod.

He moved through the cabin of the second drone, checking each seat again. The officers watched with curiosity as he guided them with practiced ease.

"Make sure you're all seated properly," Javier instructed.

"Snacks and drinks are available here" he tapped a glowing panel at the side where faint glyphs shimmered into view,

"Just press it if you need something sweet or refreshing. It's all stored safely inside."

Some of the officers exchanged looks, impressed but hesitant.

Then Javier pressed another rune on the console. A sharp red light pulsed along the walls.

"This is the emergency protocol," he said firmly.

"If this light ever comes on, fasten your seatbelts immediately."

He demonstrated, pulling the straps over his shoulders and clicking them into place with a solid clack. The officers quickly copied him.

"When the system detects great danger, these seats will eject and deploy… this."

Javier paused, then produced a simple illusion above his palm: a wide canopy of fabric descending gently.

"This is Parachute. If, for any reason, this drone falls from the sky, the seats will launch and you'll descend slowly, landing safely on the ground."

Lograc blinked, staring at the image with wide eyes.

"You mean to tell me that if we fall from the sky, this cloth will catch us?"

Javier smirked faintly, folding the illusion away.

"More than cloth. Woven with mana and designed to withstand storm winds."
