Reborn As Noble

Chapter 720: Shironii ( 720 )

The general suddenly spun around, instinct telling him to defend himself.

Just in time.

A white-glowing arrow streaked toward him, deadly and precise. He swung one of his massive black swords upward, barely catching the arrow in mid-air.

A loud clang rang out.

Then, from the side, a hammer strike came, blinding white.

He twisted desperately, raising his other sword just in time.

Another heavy impact hit him.

The shockwave shook painfully through both his arms. He staggered back, feeling numbness spreading into his limbs. Pain shot through every muscle.

His breath caught in his throat.

Unbelievable—!

He stared at the two figures now clearly visible after their exchange:

Two maids.

Not even battle commanders or elite knights. Just… maids.

But their strength....was incredible.

Impossible! According to our intelligence… these two weren't even part of Armand's Special Elite Battle Maid Corps!

He knew the hierarchy well.

Household Maid, Battle Maid, Elite Battle Maid, Special Battle Maid, Shadow Battle Maid… Erisa, second-in-command, and Erinnette herself, the legendary head maid who married Alf, the kingdom's deadliest assassin.

These two… the last info placed them as Elite Battle Maids, no higher…

But what he was seeing now.

Their strength was definitely on par with Erinnette herself!

No… this can't be! Were they secretly her apprentices?

He shook his head sharply, grinding his teeth inside his helmet.

No.....

Erisa alone was known as Erinnette's direct apprentice! There had never even been a whisper about these two!

Shit! Shit!! SHIT!!!

He took a step back, breath ragged, swords trembling in his hands.

"WHO THE HELL… ARE YOU TWO?!" he roared, his voice echoing through the chaos around him.

But the maids didn't answer.

They just stood calmly, Liana raising her bow again, Gloria gripping her shining warhammer tightly. Both of them looked at him with quiet, cold stares.

He felt it deep in his bones.

These two weren't just strong.

They were monsters, carefully hidden by Javier himself.

The general roared, fury and desperation loud in his voice.

"FUUUUUCK!! Everyone still alive, get over here!! FORM A TACTICAL LINE NEAR ME!! We're going to crush those assholes!!"

Dozens of surviving modified soldiers responded, their enhanced bodies rushing toward their general. High-ranking units barked orders and quickly started forming up, an improvised shield wall, dark weapons raised, tight formation.

But it was already too late.

Because then…

The general saw it.

A figure.

Stepping forward calmly from the white mist and smoke.

A young man, taller than the two maids who now stood slightly behind him, to his left and right.

He wasn't wearing noble armor, nor any kind of royal crest. No extravagant cape, no glistening ceremonial plating.

A strange black uniform. Sleek, streamlined, like some elite special force from a world he didn't understand. His other hand was behind his back, his posture relaxed.

But it was his face that made the general freeze.

Calm.

Unnervingly calm.

No anger.

No arrogance.

No fear.

Just silence.

Like a still lake.

The general looked around the battlefield.

His soldiers, his elite modified monsters were already dying. Their heads rolled across the ground like fallen melons. Blood pooled at his feet. Death was everywhere.

All of this…

All of it…

Had happened before this boy even stepped forward.

"Wha… what the hell… are you…?" the general stammered, his hands slightly trembling on his black blades.

The young man tilted his head slightly. A faint, amused breath escaped his lips.

"Meet the… Shironii~."

At that moment, the runes on the ground lit up, white lines glowing in an intricate pattern. A whooshing sound echoed across the field.

And from the trees, from the mists, behind the stones.

Figures began to appear.

Blades drawn.

Eyes glowing.

Full-body armor.

Silent. Deadly. Swift.

Each of them wore full suits of white armor made from an ore the general didn't recognize, shining under the moonlight with an unnatural brightness. Their helmets were carved with grotesque, grinning demon faces, sharp fangs, curved horns, and hollow eyes that glowed faintly in white.

A cold chill ran down his spine.

What… are those things…?

Panic welled up inside him.

These… these monsters… are they the ones who wiped out my entire vanguard!?

But how!? I brought ten thousand elite modified soldiers!

He watched as one of the white-armored figures drew its long, curved blade, a strange weapon, unlike the swords used by the Human Kingdom or even the Demon realm.

That blade… it's too thin… what kind of weapon is that!?

But before he could think more.

A scream.

Then another.

And dozens more.

The general whipped his head to the left.

One of his captains was sliced in half. Cleanly. With a single strike.

To the right, two more soldiers fell. No blood. No sound. Just sudden collapse.

Then, something strange happened.

All the white masks vanished.

The shadows blurred.

Soldiers screamed.

And then… silence.

The general gasped, horror spreading through him as he watched his elite soldiers, those enhanced with dark modifications being cut down like insects.

One by one.

Each slash… each strike… was deadly.

And more terrifying still.

None of the fallen could come back.

No limbs grew back.

No dark miasma seeped from their bodies.

No cursed revival.

What… what kind of light is this!?

He stepped back, heart pounding.

Is it divine magic!? No… no holy aura I've seen could erase regeneration like this.

Another scream.

Another blur.

Another headless body.

And the worst part?

None of these white-armored monsters made a sound.

Not a word. Not a breath.

They appeared, killed, and vanished again like ghosts. Like demons. Like judgment itself.

The general clenched his swords, sweat pouring down his temples.

Inside his mind.

This… this is the first time I've seen something like this…

Are they puppets? No… no ordinary puppet could move this way!

Is it the Demon Kingdom's new special forces!?

But he already knew the answer.

No.

These weren't demons.

They weren't humans either.

They were something else.

Something far more terrifying.

Something that shouldn't exist.

And they all listened…

To that boy.
