Reborn as Goku: The Saiyan without limits

Chapter 2: Dragon Ball ch1 : Meeting and the start of journey

Goku was chopping firewood for dinner on his way home after collecting a large quantity of vegetables and meat from the forest.

When he returned to his home, he saw the Four-Star Dragon Ball placed on an altar.

Seeing it made him reminisce about his past life and the man who had raised him for six years—Grandpa Gohan, who had eventually passed away due to natural causes.

Tyson, now Goku, still didn't understand how he was reincarnated as Goku.

At this point, he felt as though he hadn't been reincarnated in the traditional sense.

Rather, it seemed that his soul had merged with the soul of Kid Goku, which should have perished.

He retained the knowledge of Goku's Saiyan family—Bardock, Gine, and even Raditz.

However, his time with Raditz was so brief that he often wondered how Raditz could remember him so clearly in the original timeline.

He also recalled his mother telling him about his father's mission to Planet Cereal and how his squad was sent on a separate mission where they were eventually be killed by Dodoria.

Goku vividly remembered parting ways with both of his parents and their final words to him before he was sent to Earth.

Upon being found by Grandpa Gohan after his fall, he woke up to find a small note with a Toribot symbol nearby.

The note read:

"I hope you enjoy your new chance at life. I've given you a surprise you'll like. Be happy in your new journey."

To his surprise, the note vanished after he read it.

Grateful for the second chance at life and excited to become a part of his favorite series, Goku was determined to make the most of this opportunity.

He admired the character he had become and resolved to follow the path of the person he had once looked up to.

The "surprise" mentioned in the note turned out to be a status window in his mind.

After repeatedly checking for hidden features, he realized it was just a monitor for tracking his growth—a simple, yet immensely helpful tool.

Goku was glad for this, as he didn't want to be overpowered without earning his strength through effort.

When he opened the status panel, he was stunned by what he saw:

Status Panel:

Transformations:

Oozaru: The innate Saiyan ability to transform into a Great Ape with the help of Blutz Waves, increasing base power tenfold.

Ikkari: A state where Saiyans access the tenfold power boost of the Oozaru form while retaining their humanoid form.

Curious about his race being listed as Ancient Saiyan rather than just Saiyan, Goku checked for more details:

Ancient Saiyan:

Saiyans with the Ancient Saiyan bloodline can unlock their maximum potential and continuously grow stronger as they live.

Their battle power increases steadily, rising by 10 for every 5 minutes of regular life, and skyrocketing to 1,000 per minute during combat.

This bloodline also grants them precise control over their primal instincts, enabling seamless transformation and focus.

If someone tries to copy the bloodline, they will only be able to duplicate the base Saiyan bloodline. They won't be able to replicate the main traits.

Goku was astonished by his bloodline's innate abilities and shocked at his initial battle power of 200—far above the 2-5 range he should have had according to the original timeline.

This was closer to his power during the Demon King Piccolo saga! Once again, Goku expressed his gratitude to the mysterious benefactor who had given him this second chance.

Grandpa Gohan, meanwhile, was surprised by Goku's humility after his fall and happily took him in.

He raised Goku with care and pride, teaching him martial arts techniques that Goku mastered with incredible speed.

Though amazed by Goku's rapid growth, Gohan chose to withhold the styles and knowledge he learned from Master Roshi, encouraging Goku to seek Roshi out when the time came.

Instead, he passed on his own techniques, such as Rock-Paper-Scissors, Explosive Wave, Afterimage Technique, and Sleep.

Gohan also gifted Goku the Power Pole (Nyoibō), which became a staple of his training.

Together, they created a vegetable field near their house to manage Goku's large Saiyan appetite.

Over six years, Goku trained rigorously, increasing his base form's power, create Ki-based techniques, and control his Oozaru and Ikkari transformations.

By the end of these six years, Goku's progress was astounding.

His base battle power had reached an astonishing 3 million, though he kept it suppressed to around 50 to maintain control and avoid accidents during his life with Grandpa Gohan.

Unfortunately, Grandpa Gohan passed away at the age of 105 from natural causes. While saddened, Goku was not discouraged.

He vowed to fulfill Grandpa Gohan's wish for him to become the strongest.

Fueled by determination and gratitude, Goku set his sights on the path ahead with resolve.

Goku knew that having an ancient bloodline was a huge advantage.

However, he was also aware that beings with the power to destroy the planets like dust and universe like a atom were roaming across the multiverse.

If he wasn't careful, he could find himself on the other side of existence far too quickly.

After Grandpa Gohan's death, Goku trained for the next two years to master his ki on his own.

Thanks to his improved bloodline, he was able to control his ki with ease. By the end of this period, Goku's base power had reached a staggering 4.5 million. Satisfied with his progress, he checked his status panel.

Ikkari: A state where Saiyans access the tenfold power boost of the Oozaru form while retaining their humanoid form.

After checking his status, Goku prepared an enormous meal—nearly a ton of food.

After devouring his feast, he decided to relax his body with a small exercise session.

He then headed to a nearby river, where he began meditating underwater to further refine control over his senses.

Scene Change:

A young girl, around the age of 15, with blue hair tied in a braid, was seen searching for something with a radar that pointed in the direction of the protagonist's home.

Her name was Bulma Briefs, and her journey had begun out of curiosity. Little did she know that this quest would lead her to our main character, who was about to embark on an adventure to explore the world.

Bulma's POV:

It's been a few weeks since I started my journey for the Dragon Balls. So far, I've managed to collect two of them, but there are still five more to go. The radar shows there's one nearby, somewhere around here. I hope I can find it soon—I'd rather avoid encountering any dangerous wild animals. Especially the gorilla beast that people from nearby towns have been warning about.

Driving her car toward the mountains, Bulma's search continued. But as she drove, a monkey suddenly appeared on the road. Startled, she lost control of her car, and it skidded toward the edge of the cliff, about to plunge into the river below.

Scene Change:

Under the river, Goku was meditating, his body completely relaxed. He could already feel the growth of S-Cells within him, but he wasn't ready to transform just yet. He planned to allow the cells to develop further before triggering a transformation. However, his peaceful meditation was interrupted by a loud, girlish scream above him.

Jumping out of the water, Goku quickly donned his gi and looked toward the source of the noise. To his shock, he saw a car plummeting from the cliff, about to crash into the river. Wasting no time, Goku flew into the air using his Ki and caught the car effortlessly.

Inside the car, Bulma was screaming in fear, but the sudden stop of the fall made her pause. Tentatively, she leaned out of the car window and was astounded to see a boy holding her car in midair without any visible support. Relief quickly replaced her panic as she realized she had been saved.

A few minutes later, the teenage girl stepped out of the car, her face pale from fright but her eyes full of gratitude.

Goku, recognizing the blue-haired girl immediately as Bulma, concealed his excitement at the thought of starting his journey with her. Instead, he wore a serious expression.

Goku:"Seriously, girl. When you're traveling through dangerous areas like this, you need to be more careful. If I hadn't been near the river, you could've died just now."

Bulma looked guilty but also deeply thankful as she responded.

Bulma:"I'm so sorry, and thank you for saving me! A group of monkeys suddenly jumped in front of my car while I was driving, and I lost control… I didn't mean for this to happen."

Seeing her earnest expression, Goku softened his stern demeanor and gave her a kind smile.

Goku:"Ah, I see. But still, human's like you without any powers need to stay cautious when traveling in areas like these—especially if you don't know what's around."

Bulma raised an eyebrow at his comment, now curious.

Bulma:"Wait… what do you mean by 'humans like me'? Are you saying you're not human? Hmm…"

She began examining Goku from head to toe. He was well-built for someone his age and slightly shorter than her, but not by much. As her gaze moved lower, she noticed something that made her gasp in surprise—a tail.

Bulma:"Is that… is that a tail? Is it some kind of prop, or…?"

She reached out, curious to touch it, but Goku, sensing her intention, quickly moved his tail and wrapped it around his waist like a belt. Bulma's jaw dropped in shock.

Bulma:"Wow, it's real! This is the first time I've ever seen someone with a tail. Sure, I've seen beast-men who use animorphaline to alter their race, but this is different…"

Goku shrugged, looking unfazed.

Goku: "I have no idea what you're talking about. My name is Son Goku, by the way. I used to live with my Grandpa, who raised me here on Earth."

Bulma's curiosity deepened, but she realized she had yet to introduce herself.

Bulma: "Oh! Sorry for not introducing myself earlier. My name is Bulma Briefs, and I'm from West City. I'm a famous genius inventor. So... you're an alien from space, huh?"

Goku:"Yes, I am a Saiyan survivor from Planet Vegeta. My parents sent me to this planet to protect me from its destruction at the hands of a tyrant named Frieza."

Goku's voice carried a sad tone at first but shifted into one of conviction by the end.

Bulma, hearing his story, felt a pang of sadness but quickly composed herself and gave him a comforting hug. Goku, caught off guard, relaxed a little.

Goku:"So, what's the reason for a teenage girl like you to come this far into the depths of Mount Paozu?"

Goku's tone held curiosity, though he already knew why Bulma was here.

Bulma:"Well, I actually came to Mount Paozu looking for a Dragon Ball. Here, look at these!"

Bulma pulled a bag from her side and showed Goku two glowing Dragon Balls.

Goku, recognizing the orbs, reached for the Four-Star Dragon Ball tied around his neck.

The moment he held it out, it resonated with the other two, making all three glow brighter.

Bulma:"Oh wow! I finally found the third Dragon Ball—yes!"

Bulma cheered excitedly, temporarily forgetting that the owner of the Four-Star Dragon Ball was standing right in front of her.

Goku watched her celebration with an amused expression before clearing his throat.

Goku:"Ahem. Bulma, you must be hungry after traveling such a long distance. My house is nearby. Why don't you come over? I'll prepare dinner for you, and you can tell me more about the Dragon Balls and why you're searching for them."

Bulma stopped her celebration when she heard Goku mention food. Her stomach growled loudly, betraying her hunger.

Embarrassed, she blushed and nodded in agreement. She packed her car back into a Hoi-Poi Capsule, an action that left Goku fascinated, as it was the first time he'd seen such a device.

After reaching Goku's house, he asked her what kind of food she liked.

Bulma:"I love strawberries and foods that aren't too spicy."

Goku nodded and began preparing a simple meal with strawberry-based dishes, including strawberry mousse and a strawberry pie.

When he served the food, Bulma eagerly thanked him and started eating.

She was pleasantly surprised by the taste and couldn't help but compliment Goku.

Bulma:"Wow! This is amazing! I didn't expect you to be such a good cook!"

Goku smiled at her praise as she happily enjoyed the meal.

After that, Bulma started narrating how she found the Two-Star Dragon Ball in her cellar. While snooping around, she stumbled upon it, and after some research, she found documents explaining what it was. She learned that collecting all seven Dragon Balls would allow a person to summon the eternal dragon, Shenron (Shenlong), who could grant any one wish. Afterward, the Dragon Balls would scatter around the world again.

She also mentioned that the last time the dragon was summoned, someone had wished to become a king. She then explained her journey to collect them and shared that she found the Five-Star Dragon Ball in a valley ten days ago.

Goku:"One question—how are you able to find the Dragon Balls when they're scattered all over the world?"

Bulma, with a proud look, pulled out a small radar the size of a pocket watch.

Bulma:"Here, look at this! It's a Dragon Ball radar, invented by yours truly. After I found the Two-Star Dragon Ball, I noticed it emitted a unique signal in the form of electromagnetic waves. Using that information, I created this device to pinpoint their exact locations. Hehe!"

Goku took the Dragon Radar from Bulma and inspected it. Just as she said, it displayed the three Dragon Balls in their current vicinity.

Goku:"Well, what are you planning to wish for after you collect all seven of them?"

Goku's question prompted Bulma to grin mischievously, an unusual expression for a girl her age.

Bulma:"Hehe, I was actually thinking of wishing for an unlimited supply of strawberries, but I changed my mind. Now, I want a handsome and caring boyfriend who will understand me, even though I'm wealthy."

Bulma's smile faded slightly, and her expression grew sad. This wasn't the first time she felt this way. Most of her peers avoided her because of who her father was, and the boys who approached her were only after her family's money. They would quickly leave once they realized her personality.

Noticing her sadness, Goku tried to comfort her with a soft smile.

Goku:"Don't be sad, Bulma. If you don't have any friends, I'll be your first. How about it? I think we'll get along really well."

Bulma was touched by his words and immediately brightened up.

Bulma:"Yes, Goku! I'm so happy to have you as my first friend. Hmm... the main reason I thought about wishing for a boyfriend was that I didn't have any real friends. But now, I think I don't need a boyfriend anymore. So... what should I wish for instead?"

Bulma pondered changing her wish, and Goku was surprised by her honesty.

Goku:"Well, you could wish to stop aging after reaching a certain point. I know girls like to maintain their youthful looks."

Bulma's eyes lit up at the suggestion, and she immediately grew excited about the prospect of staying young forever.

Bulma:"Goku, you're a genius! That's the perfect wish—I'm definitely going to do it!"

In her excitement, Bulma gave Goku a kiss on the cheek. Flustered, Goku blushed lightly—his first time being kissed by a girl.

Seeing his reaction, Bulma grinned cheekily.

Bulma:"Aww, look at you! Getting all flustered just from one kiss. Hehe!"

Goku:"Huh, cut it out! This is my first time being kissed by a pretty girl, you know."

Goku's candid compliment made Bulma blush in return. Trying to lighten the atmosphere, she quickly asked:

Bulma:"So, Goku, how about this? Will you join me on my journey to collect the Dragon Balls?"

Goku:"Sure! I was planning to go on a journey anyway to find my grandpa's master and train under him."

Bulma:"Then... can I have your Dragon Ball, since you're coming with me?"

She asked with a sweet smile, which actually worked. Goku nodded and handed her his Four-Star Dragon Ball.

As he did, he remembered something important and mentioned it to Bulma.

Goku:"Oh, yeah, Bulma, you said you're an inventor, right? I have the pod I came to Earth in. Can you check it out and see if you can improve it—or even create a gravity chamber of some sort?"

Hearing that Goku was willing to show her his spaceship, Bulma's curiosity shot through the roof. Excited, she eagerly followed Goku to his cellar, where the pod was kept. When she saw it, her eyes sparkled in amazement.

Bulma:"This thing is way more advanced than Jaco's spaceship! It has an automatic sleep inducer, photon synthesizer, antimatter absorber... oh wow, even a moon-wave generator!"

She rattled off the features of the pod as she inspected it, leaving Goku in awe of her intelligence. For someone her age, Bulma was far ahead of even scientists with PhDs.

After thoroughly examining the pod, Bulma was ecstatic at the chance to dismantle it and uncover its advanced technology.

Goku:"You can take it, but I want you to research it and create a new advanced spaceship with a gravity chamber. Take as much time as you need—I'll come to West City once I finish my training with Master Roshi."

Bulma:"Thanks, Goku! Don't worry, with my dad's help, I'll create an even better spaceship in a few months at most."

She spoke confidently, as though creating advanced spaceships was no big deal.

Then she used an special capsule to store the pod to take it with her.

As the sun began to set, Goku suggested they start their journey the next day since it was getting late. He arranged a bed for Bulma and went outside to keep watch.

Bulma:"Goku, what are you doing outside? You can come and sleep inside!"

Bulma called out to him, but Goku, smiling softly, shook his head.

Goku:"No, you sleep well. I'm just going to soak under the moonlight and guard the house—though nothing dangerous will enter this area anyway."

He created a self-sustaining ki barrier around his house and field, ensuring everything remained safe.

Time Skip: Bulma's POV

What a great sleep! It's been two weeks since I've had proper rest due to all the traveling. Thanks to Goku, I finally slept peacefully. But... wait, what about Goku? Did he sleep at all last night? I should check on him.

Still in her sleeping dress, Bulma walked out and found Goku training shirtless, revealing his well-built physique. Her face turned beet red at the sight. Goku's muscles were incredibly defined for someone his age, and she couldn't help but imagine how he would look as an adult. Without realizing it, she was practically gawking at him.

Sensing someone's gaze, Goku turned to see Bulma standing there, her face red and hair messy. Instantly, he realized she was in a daze and called out to her.

Goku:"Oi, Bulma! Why are you spacing out so early? Are you feeling sick?"

His voice snapped her out of her trance.

Bulma:"Huh? Oh, Goku, I'm fine! I was just checking on you. Did you get any sleep last night?"

Goku:"Don't worry about me. My body's different from regular humans—I don't always need to sleep."

Bulma frowned and gave him an angry look, surprising him.

Bulma:"Goku, you need to sleep as much as you train! If you don't, it'll affect your health. Promise me you won't skip sleeping again, okay?"

Goku gulped and nodded his head, intimidated by Bulma's angry face. After that, Goku went to bathe in the river, while Bulma, using her capsule, enjoyed a relaxing bubble bath.

After freshening up, Goku prepared breakfast for both himself and Bulma, which turned out to be an enormous meal.

Bulma: "Huh, Goku, do you really eat that much food?"

Goku: "Yeah, I have a huge appetite and a strong metabolism, so I need to consume a lot of food. Hehe."

Bulma nodded and began eating the meal Goku had prepared, impressed by his cooking. After finishing breakfast, Goku asked Bulma for some capsules.

Goku: "Bulma, can I borrow a few capsules? I want to store some food before we start traveling."

Bulma gladly handed Goku some empty capsules, and he used them to store a massive amount of food from his field. Afterward, he set up a ki barrier to protect his home and field from any potential dangers.

Bulma then took out a motorcycle from one of her capsules and told Goku to hop on the back. Goku complied, sitting on the back seat and holding onto Bulma's waist. Bulma, feeling Goku's touch, blushed but said nothing, focusing instead on speeding up the vehicle.

After two to three hours of driving, Bulma suddenly felt the need for a restroom break and stopped the motorcycle.

Bulma: "Goku, let's take a short rest here. And don't come near me—I need to pee. Just wait here, okay?"

Bulma warned Goku, her tone firm, as she walked a little distance away.

Goku, now alone on the motorcycle, was examining it curiously, comparing its features to the technology of his previous life. However, his focus was abruptly broken by Bulma's loud cry for help.

Flying swiftly in the direction of her voice, Goku arrived to find Bulma, with drenched panties, being held by a pterodactyl-like creature that appeared startled by her screams.

Goku: "I'm going to tell you this just once: leave my friend alone this instant, or I'll make you disappear from the land of the living."

Goku's serious tone and the deadly aura radiating from him frightened the creature, which instinctively understood the threat. It released Bulma to the ground and fled without a second glance.

Goku: "Bulma, that's why you need to be more careful in places like this. Now, clean yourself up, and let's continue our journey."

Embarrassed and flustered, Bulma nodded silently, cleaning herself up before they resumed their journey to find the Dragon Balls.
