Chapter 335: Stomachache
Fang Pingying didn't think much of it, took the lunchbox, and had a few sips of the porridge. Just at that moment, someone came to buy something. As Fang Pingying was sitting closest to the shop and everyone else was inside, she stood up to serve the customer.
The customer was quite fussy, taking a good ten minutes to pick and choose several items.
By the time Fang Pingying planned to go back to her meal, the porridge had gone cold. She looked at its thin and watery appearance and lost all desire to eat it, so she just casually ate some vegetables Luo Zhiyong had left for her.
After finishing the meal, seeing that it was about time, Luo Dashan and Zhou Yunmei, worried about being late, left quickly with their things without further delay.
Luo Zhiyong had originally said he would take them both to the train station, but Luo Dashan mentioned Luo Zhiming was waiting at the train station, so there was no need to delay Luo Zhiyong's affairs, telling him to hurry back to the military.
Luo Zhiyong gave them a few directions and saw them onto the bus headed for the train station, then returned to the shop.
As soon as he entered, he heard Luo Honglan's anxious voice inside, "What's going on with the big sister-in-law's stomach pain this month? Should we go to the hospital?"
Hearing this, Luo Zhiyong's face changed suddenly, and he immediately went inside.
There, he saw Fang Pingying half-reclining on the bed, with Yu'er and Luo Honglan sitting beside her.
He walked over, looking anxious, and asked, "Pingying, what's wrong?"
Fang Pingying touched her stomach, also looking somewhat tense, "I don't know if the food wasn't clean or what, but my stomach is hurting a bit."
"Luo Honglan, take some money from the shop, grab a piece of clothing for your sister-in-law, and we're going to the hospital," Luo Zhiyong didn't hesitate and immediately picked up Fang Pingying, instructing both Luo Honglan and Yu'er, "Yu'er, take care of the shop."
After getting checked at the hospital, the doctor said it was fetal distress and suggested that Fang Pingying be admitted.
Because Fang Pingying was already quite far along in her pregnancy and had also experienced a miscarriage before, Doctor Zhou advised her to stay in the hospital for a few days for a thorough examination to feel at ease.
There were blood draws and lab tests in the hospital, making for a tiresome afternoon.
In the evening, Luo Zhiyong instructed Luo Honglan to go back to cook, while he stayed in the hospital with Fang Pingying.
Luo Zhiyong sat by the hospital bed, Jun Ting's brows slightly furrowed. Seeing Fang Pingying's pale complexion, he reached out to touch her face, feeling a pang of heartache.
It's tough enough for a woman to be pregnant, let alone with twins. The hardship is truly beyond his understanding.
If he could, he would willingly take on this burden for her.
Actually, Fang Pingying only felt a slight discomfort in her stomach at home. Concerned about the baby inside, frightened that something might happen, she had come to the hospital.
After a while in the hospital and having received a drip, she felt much better already.
Seeing Luo Zhiyong still with furrowed brows by the hospital bed, she held his hand and reassured him with a smile, "It's nothing serious anymore, why are you still worried?"
Luo Zhiyong gently grasped her hand in return, his eyes resting on her belly, which was now quite pronounced, "I just can't figure out why your belly, being perfectly fine, would have issues again. Haven't you been overworked lately?"
"No, I haven't done a thing, just looking at how I've gotten a whole size fatter with all the eating and drinking." Fang Pingying was actually puzzled herself, as she had been visiting the hospital regularly for checkups every month since her last hospital visit, and the doctors said that she was in excellent health, as was the fetus, with no issues at all.
But she didn't want to speculate wildly, so she said with a smile, "Don't worry, the doctor said that it's normal for pregnant women, it's easy for problems to arise."
"But if we don't clear up the cause, what if this kind of thing happens again in the future?" Luo Zhiyong was still worried, as this pregnancy had already sent Fang Pingying to the hospital three times. If such problems kept occurring frequently later on, it wouldn't be good.
Fang Pingying gave him a smile, "The lab results haven't come out yet, right? Let's see what they say tomorrow."
"That works..."
While they were talking, the door to the ward suddenly opened, and then they saw Li Aihua and Zhao Longsheng walk in from outside.
Li Aihua hurried over to Fang Pingying with a concerned face, "Pingying, what happened to you? Weren't you fine yesterday? How come you're in the hospital today?"
"Mom." She had already called her mother last night, so Fang Pingying didn't dwell on it and simply called out, "Mom, it's alright, it was just a bit of discomfort. Zhiyong was worried and insisted on coming to the hospital. Don't worry about it."
At this moment, Li Aihua was too worried to be happy about being called 'Mom', all filled with concern for Fang Pingying's health, "Your uncle and I were eating at home when we got the call from Juzi that you were hospitalized, so we hurried over here."
Fang Pingying smiled and then sat up, calling out to Zhao Longsheng, "Uncle Zhao, you came to the hospital too. Won't this delay your work?"
"Silly girl, if my own child has problems, how could this be called a delay?" Zhao Longsheng said lovingly, patting Fang Pingying's back, "Are you feeling better now?"
"Much better," Fang Pingying smiled and nodded.
Although Fang Pingying and Zhao Longsheng hadn't spoken much before, almost strangers, the words Zhao Longsheng said warmed Fang Pingying's heart.
She felt moved and thought how wonderful it was to have the care of parents; after so many years, she finally experienced it.
"This is a time when you should pay more attention to your health and not just focus on making money. If the shop is too busy, then just close it," Zhao Longsheng looked at her, nodding his head, then authoritatively instructed Fang Pingying, "You and your husband should come live at my place. Let your mother take care of you daily until you've given birth to the child."
She might have acknowledged the relationship, but Fang Pingying wasn't ready to move into their house just yet, although it was awkward to directly object, so she just smiled.
Li Aihua knew what Fang Pingying was thinking, so she changed the subject and nudged Zhao Longsheng, "You still have to go to the military unit this afternoon, so go ahead. I'll stay here with her."
"Alright, I'll come back later tonight," Zhao Longsheng was also straightforward, taking his leave from Li Aihua without much ado, and headed out, "Zhiyong, Pingying, I'll leave first."
Fang Pingying smiled and agreed, asking Luo Zhiyong to send Zhao Longsheng off.
Li Aihua watched Zhao Longsheng leave, then went over to Fang Pingying and tidied up her quilt, looking at her tenderly and asked, "What exactly happened? Why did you end up in the hospital all of a sudden?"
Fang Pingying shook her head with a smile, "Don't know yet. The results will come out tomorrow."
Li Aihua nodded, paused for a while, as if she suddenly thought of something, then suddenly said, "It wasn't caused by your mother-in-law, was it? Your mother-in-law is really not the trouble-free kind..."
Li Aihua was talking about Zhou Yunmei when Luo Zhiyong came back into the room, but Li Aihua didn't hesitate and directly called out to Luo Zhiyong, saying, "Zhiyong, don't blame me for speaking ill of your mom. But really, no one can stand her. In my opinion, it's only because my daughter Pingying has a good temperament. If it were someone else, it wouldn't be so easy to talk to."
