Chapter 16: Chapter 16- Pawn to Prawn
Thirdly, after extracting the artifacts, it was clear that they would be in a diluted form or more like in a state due to the impurity of the bloodline, where they would not be able to manifest all their energy.
Even though their tiers are determined by the bloodline, their condition is determined by the purity of the bloodline.
So he was able to repair them using obsession points.
For the fourth one, there was a synchronized artifact, considering how there were some combinations of artifacts that worked together very well, like how water and electricity work together like a miracle, and similarly with wind and fire.
These combinations could be used once he possessed two such artifacts.
By using this feature, he could easily synchronize them and create a new kind of artifact, of course, only if both artifacts were of a similar category.
This one was a sacrifice artifact, where he was able to change the artifact into fragments.
To achieve a higher tier of the artifact, he needed to have the fragments of the lesser ones.
To put it simply, if he had five fragments of the shattered tier, then he would be able to upgrade any of the artifacts to the dim tier, which is one above the shattered tier.
And for the last one, which was the sixth, there was a given store artifact.
For those who possessed artifacts tied to the bloodline, their dominion provided them with both the ability and a space where they could easily hide their artifacts.
However, given the classifications of the artifacts based on the particular alignment of their abilities, those dominions were also fixed.
This meant that for an artifact possessing firepower, the dominion would definitely have a fire ability, and the same went for storage.
Therefore, storing different artifacts in the same dominion was highly unlikely.
It seemed the system had the ability to solve this, giving him a way to store several artifacts together.
To understand it better, it could be considered simply as if a poisonous sword was placed inside a water body, which would slowly contaminate that water and make it poison too.
That water, now poisoned, could act as a boost in the future when that sword lost its poisonous capability.
This is similar to the dominion, which is a place where artifacts are stored, and then there's a duo of those artifacts that stimulate certain kinds of abilities in those dominions, which are manifested to boost the strength of artifacts in the future.
Thinking about this world, Akhil, after taking a bath, exited the bathroom and saw a woman standing near the balcony.
It was Grace, and to be honest, for a scientist, she really appeared holy.
The filtering sun passing through her blonde hair and her eyes twinkling with depth as she looked towards the garden area were clearly a sight to see.
Though, of course, it didn't matter to Akhil, as he had already seen someone far more beautiful than her.
[Isn't she gorgeous, Host?]
'Somewhat, but Laila was at another level', Akhil answered straightforwardly, considering he wasn't lying; he just stated what was the matter of fact.
As he made his way inside the room, he called out, "Grace, follow me."
"Huh?" Grace stood at the balcony, hearing his voice.
She noticed him appearing as before, bare-bodied while covering himself with a towel, prompting her to tighten her fists and exhale her breath, consoling herself that she had already seen several patients bare-bodied, so she shouldn't feel embarrassed about it.
But again, whatever happened a few moments ago, when this man had already lost his mind and tied her up like a wild beast, she just couldn't help but remove those memories.
'These bastards', Akhil first made his way towards the drawer before putting on the clothes that were placed within.
Dressed in his white suit with pants, he made his way towards the door, clearly sensing the murmurs of familiar voices coming from beyond it.
He knew that it was none other than his finance advisor, the minister whom he trusted the most in this life and the same man who had poisoned him.
Without hesitation, he kicked the door.
"Khuck!?—M-my King?!"
Thrown due to the force of the door, the old man hit the wall in front of him before falling down.
As he lifted himself, he looked towards his king, who had unexpectedly come out so soon, just after he expected the poison to already have taken effect and to find him ravaging the saintess.
"How can you fall this low, Vorilla?" Akhil called out in a mocking tone, looking towards the man.
He then observed that the hall was mostly empty, clearly indicating that this man had sent all the servants and maids away.
"N-no! I-I didn't do anything, my lord!"
Suddenly, the old man lurched forward, his head hitting the floor as he begged for his life.
His eyes burst into tears, and his nose was running snot.
His whole body trembled as he saw his king completely upright, not only that, but he also seemed to know that it was him who poisoned him.
"What? I asked how you could fall on the floor?"
Akhil raised an eyebrow inquiringly, considering he wasn't going to pursue this man right now.
Given that he was just a pawn in the game and needed his help to deal with the systems in the kingdom, killing these people would only increase his burden.
More officials meant less burden.
With that thought in mind, he placed his hands in his pockets and tilted his head, causing the man to slowly lift his head with snot still coming out.
"H-huh? Y-yes! I fell, hohoho, how senile of me."
The old man was clearly out of his element, not only due to his mistake against the king but also because the saintess was giving him a glare filled with killing intent, causing him to feel fear twice.
"Y-your majesty?"
A maid came as she noticed the king, causing her to flinch before giving a proper 90-degree greeting.
Akhil looked towards her for a moment.
"Which artifact do you possess?"
Akhil, knowing well that this maid was the same one who, if he recalled correctly, had presented the video of the live intimate scene where he had deflowered and defiled the saintess.
Knowing well that the artifact she possessed was similar to the video, he made sure to ask in front of Grace, being aware of her temper and also how Akhil needed to leave a clear effect on this minister's mind.
"I... it's a photographic artifact, Your Majesty," the maid replied.
As she did, her body flinched, and the king just brushed past her.
The killing intent that both she and even the finance minister sensed was from a woman who left the room, glaring towards both of them like a beast clearly hungering to tear their flesh.
"Wait here, Grace. I will be back," with those words, Akhil left the place to meet the queen, making sure that both of these pawns had turned into prawns by Grace.
