Chapter 14: Chapter 14- This World
'So, it's my memories, is this correct?'
Inside the bathroom, while looking towards the mirror, Akhil can't help but feel strange at the same time familiar with his memories.
Now that the system had told him how it was his own body, or a body that would have been his after reincarnation, he considered how these memories he had were so painful about this world.
Knowing that his fate was simply to be prosecuted today and then turned into an undead creature, serving under one of the demon queens, he would rise in ranks before taking revenge on the holy kingdom that was initially his and then die again.
According to his memories, today, in a simple event of turning back from aristocracy to theocracy, the holy church, which was entangled with some of the ministers under his throne, would throw him out of the kingdom or, specifically, throw his dead body into the ocean from where he somehow had turned into an undead and found himself on one of the Demon God's continents.
Considering how, all these years, he had been unable to gain any power over the kingdom to change many rules due to the ego of his stepmother, the present Dowager—Christiana de Aleria Vandreat.
It was an ego battle between him and his stepmother, who, having most of the control over the aristocracy, always went against his decisions, leading to wide corruption that slowly rooted inside the aristocracy without the fear of a king, who was nothing but a mere puppet of the present dowager.
His stepmother was the hurdle in his present life, always going against his decisions just because of her ego.
She only boosted the growth of corruption, and now today it had become too imbued in the system that, even being a king, he could not do anything.
Soon enough, after being poisoned, he was going to die due to the internal feud he had with his stepmother, which would turn into profit for the aristocracy, who, after killing him, would also get rid of that woman within one hour of his death.
Knowing well what was about to happen to his present self, his aim for the present had changed, considering he had already taken revenge on his father's killer from his past life.
'Is Rajashekhar dead?' he inquired for one last confirmation, considering he was aware that it would most probably be the end result, but he still wanted to know if this exactly happened as per his calculations.
[ Yes, around 1.7 billion people died. ]
'Huh?' Akhil blinked for a moment, slightly surprised.
He stood there for a moment before, with a blank look towards the mirror, a chuckle came on his face as he turned his gaze downward with both hands resting on the basin.
He couldn't help but think about those two idiots who had gone this far.
'Those two were really idiots.'
[ Host, shouldn't you remain silent as both of them are heari—]
'How can you help me?' Akhil interrupted the system in the middle, inquiring about how this system was able to help him in this world, which was dominated by artifacts.
To put it simply, this world had only three continents out of ten left where humans resided, with all three surrounded by the demon god's army in a way where his kingdom was at the edge of the ocean while in the front lines lay the entire Empire of Enthropia, under Emperor Benhamsin do Debial, who was the only line of defense that the human zones had.
To understand the architecture, it's as if behind is a ditch and from in front is a big whole army that is pushing humans off the cliff, cornered like a cat.
The first kingdom near the cliff was his, which, though protected by the demons from the land, was always vulnerable from the ocean side.
Presently, due to corruption, his kingdom had not been able to provide the monetary support that the empire needed for two continuous years.
Indeed, the Empire of Enthropia always required manpower, monetary support, and every other resource it could get from the nearby kingdoms behind them.
With those supports, such as the transfer of artifact bearers and dominion users to the front line, they strengthened themselves while summoning heroes from another world who were then called Holy Light Bearers—heroes or heroines—possessing a pure bloodline.
Naturally, for him, who came from another world, it was clear that he had read about this in several books where it was shown how people from other worlds, after arriving in this world, gained some kind of power, like transmigrators. In this case, those transmigrated people received a pure bloodline and, naturally, they had the strongest artifact awakened with the Dominion ability linked to their bloodline.
Though, of course, that was a matter for another time.
What he needed to do first was to deal with his situation, where within a few hours, the holy monastery would barge into his palace with the clear intent of doing a coup.
Though now things were slightly delayed, considering he was back at the right time, the issue was still how he was going to deal with those people.
[ Ahem, I have left 1 billion obsession points; how do you want to use them? ]
'What is that?' Akhil inquired, hearing the system mention some kind of obsession points.
[ First, with the obsession points, you would be able to extract fragments of artifacts from a person, irrespective of their gender.
Though it would be suggested that you extract the fragments from the opposite gender, considering you would be able to recover the obsession points through them.
You could manipulate the woman and make them obsessed with you to get these points.
Though presently, there are enough for you to work with, they could still be depleted in the future. ]
'!'
Akhil was visibly taken aback, considering that in this world, artifacts and the dominion attached to them were the sole sources of strength.
An artifact provided strength to its users while those users were given a boost through an inherent ability attached to that bloodline called dominion.
For example, if someone possessed a poisonous dagger, they also had a poisonous smoke ability to enhance the effect of that dagger, and that ability was called Dominion.
