Chapter 332: The Entrance
Xiao Yu did not truly understand what kind of existence the Taihao Civilization was, or exactly what differences set it apart from ordinary Level 6 Civilizations. But based on the intelligence he currently possessed, there was no doubt that the strength of the Taihao Civilization surpassed that of an ordinary Level 6 Civilization, of course, 'ordinary' here did not include monstrosities like the Sweepers or the Guardians.
Any civilization capable of persisting for tens of millions of years could not be that simple.
Therefore, Xiao Yu believed that this Trolor Civilization was still inferior to the Taihao Civilization in terms of power. Since even the Taihao Civilization had been unable to fully master Four-Dimensional space technology, Xiao Yu could not believe that the Trolor Civilization had somehow accomplished it instead.
"In fact, we don't really need to concern ourselves with this question. Our purpose in coming here is to acquire the Trolor Civilization's relic. As long as we can obtain the relic, that's enough. Why should we bother with how powerful the Trolor Civilization truly was?" While the scientists were all arguing after Xiao Yu voiced this question, Luka Two, a psychosocial sciences division scientist, stood up and offered this perspective.
"…Hmm." It was as if Xiao Yu had been struck squarely between the eyes. He instantly sobered and couldn't help silently reflecting. 'That's true. Why do I need to care what the Trolor Civilization was? As long as I get their legacy and improve my own strength, I'll have plenty of time in the future to advance my science and investigate this problem.'
For a moment, the conference room fell silent.
"Indeed, indeed. We've all fallen into a conceptual dead end. However, I still have one reservation. If we can't determine exactly what the Trolor Civilization was, I'm concerned we might face danger during the operation," Luka Three said.
"Can you identify where that danger would come from? And if there is danger, could you handle it?" Luka Two countered.
Luka Three froze for a moment. Looking rather helplessly at the supreme leader of his race, he said, "No, I can't."
All the scientists turned their gaze to Xiao Yu.
"The problem is…we don't know how to enter the relic," Xiao Yu said.
"That's another question," Luka Two replied at once. "Right now, what we first need to decide is whether we are willing to take the risk, not to get tangled up in these technical details."
"I need to evaluate the level of risk. Please wait a moment," Xiao Yu said. As he spoke, he controlled his projection to slowly close its eyes, signaling that he was deep in thought.
Xiao Yu began modeling with his immense computational power. Countless models were generated as he considered every possible scenario he might encounter, whether favorable or disastrous, and simulated them all.
This task consumed enormous computational resources. The future held infinite possibilities, but Xiao Yu's computational capacity was not infinite. Naturally, he had no way of encompassing every single future outcome.
A full five minutes passed before Xiao Yu opened his eyes.
"The evaluation shows we have a sixty percent chance of encountering danger. However, the severity of the danger varies. Among that sixty percent chance, there is only a ten percent possibility of facing total annihilation. Overall, our chance of being wiped out completely is about six percent."
"I have decided, we will take this risk." Xiao Yu spoke his decision aloud.
"Very good. Since you have made your decision, Master, what we need to discuss now is how to enter this relic. When it comes to specific technological aspects, I am not particularly skilled, so I will not offer many opinions. I will only say this, according to the reasoning of us psychosocial sciences division scientists, since the Trolor Civilization clearly stated this is a legacy left for the Dwarf Race, then the way we enter the relic must inevitably be connected to the Dwarves themselves. At the same time, there must be a way to enter the relic. If we cannot find it, that is our own failing." Luka Two finished speaking and sat back down.
Xiao Yu narrowed his eyes slightly. "Luka Two is absolutely right. Now, I ask everyone to set aside all other concerns and begin thinking about this question, how can we enter the relic?"
"First of all, the mathematical methods needed to deduce Four-Dimensional space already existed within Level 4 Civilizations. Since we've confirmed the relic is moving within the fourth dimension, I believe the means of entry is very likely related to mathematics," said Senya, the scientist from Species Number Two.
"The gateway to the relic must be within the three-dimensional world we occupy. Obviously, a Level 4 Civilization does not have the capability to move within the fourth dimension. In order for the Trolor Civilization's legacy to be successfully acquired by the Dwarves, even if they placed the relic in Four-Dimensional space, they surely left an entrance within three-dimensional space. Otherwise, the Dwarves would never be able to retrieve it," said a scientist from Species Number Eleven.
"Then it's simple. Our goal is no longer to search for the relic itself, but to search for its gateway. I'm certain that at the entrance, the Trolor Civilization must have left other mechanisms to guide the Dwarves into the relic," another scientist added.
Once this line of reasoning opened up, the discussion quickly became lively. But the ones speaking were only the other scientists; Luka Three and Luka Four, Xiao Yu's most capable assistants, did not say a word. They sat with their eyes lightly closed, appearing to be deep in thought. Yet Xiao Yu keenly noticed that when they listened to the others, they would make very subtle gestures, an almost imperceptible nod of agreement or a faint shake of the head to signal disagreement.
It seems they already have their own ideas but are withholding them to maintain their authority. They're listening to the others to further refine their views. Luka Three and Luka Four really do have a composed temperament, Xiao Yu thought to himself.
Xiao Yu was doing the same. He, too, had an idea forming in his mind that was still being refined.
"Luka Three, Luka Four, what are your thoughts? Let's hear them," Xiao Yu said.
Xiao Yu was eighty percent sure that these two authorities shared the same idea he did. And he was eighty five percent sure that this idea was correct. Under these circumstances, Xiao Yu chose to let them speak first to give them credit and enhance their authority. After all, internal prestige no longer meant anything to him personally.
Luka Three and Luka Four exchanged a glance. Luka Four gestured. "Lord Three, you speak first."
"Very well." Luka Three nodded and stood up. "As a matter of logic, the entrance to a relic is always located at the point nearest to the relic itself. So can we conclude that, even if this relic resides in Four-Dimensional space, as long as we find the point in three-dimensional space that is closest to it, we have found the entrance?"
Just as I thought, Xiao Yu nodded slightly. "Continue."
Luka Three paused, then Luka Four picked up. "Then our task becomes identifying, within our three-dimensional world, the point closest to the relic. That work will not be difficult for us. Although the relic is in constant motion, we have already determined its motion pattern. We can predict its location at any future moment, correct?"
The statements of Luka Three and Luka Four silenced the entire conference room. All the scientists were thinking hard, and after a while, they could only nod, somewhat helplessly.
Their frustration came from realizing that Luka Three and Luka Four were absolutely correct, while they themselves had hoped to be the ones to arrive at the right conclusion and say it aloud, to raise their races' standing in Xiao Yu's eyes.
"Don't forget, when you reach the entrance, you must bring along the Dwarves as the key," Luka Two timely reminded.
"Does anyone have any objections?" Xiao Yu asked.
"No. We believe the three Lords of the Luka Race are correct," the other scientists finally said after thinking a moment.
This entire meeting had become a stage for the Luka Race scientists to shine. Among the scientists present were more than thirty other outstanding Luka scientists. At this moment, the way they looked at those three was filled with pure admiration.
"Very good. Very good," Xiao Yu said, extremely satisfied with this outcome. He gave a concluding statement. "Then let's proceed according to this plan. Hm… Based on the information we have gathered, using mathematical tools, we can predict that in three days, the relic will be at this point in Four-Dimensional space. And in our three-dimensional space, the closest point to it will be…here."
Xiao Yu tapped his finger. In the air above the conference table, two and a half meters to the left of the suspended yellow dot representing the star, a black dot appeared.
One meter represented a distance of four billion kilometers. Two and a half meters meant ten billion kilometers.
"In three days, our fleet will arrive at this location. All the answers will be revealed then."
