Rebirth of the Super Battleship

Chapter 311: Live Broadcast

Against the backdrop of that massive, hideous head in the sky, Xiao Yu, his entire body radiating bright light, appeared even more divine.

"I will protect you, shielding you from the demon's invasion… The battle between me and the demon will surely shake the heavens and the earth. I grant you permission to witness this battle."

Accompanied by Xiao Yu's resounding voice, a City-Class ship equipped with antigravity engines slowly descended, hovering three hundred meters above the ground. Its lower hatch gradually opened, and numerous single-person flight units dropped down.

"All journalists may enter my ship. It will bring you to a safe distance where you may witness our battle. Now, board these single-person flyers. They will carry you inside the ship…"

The City-Class ship measured a full kilometer in length. To a Level 2 Civilization that had only mastered rudimentary spaceflight technology, it was truly a colossal behemoth. Beneath the shadow of this City-Class ship, at least several hundred meters of ground were plunged into darkness.

The intelligent beings on the ground looked up, and what they saw was not the sun, not the sky, but an enormous craft suffused with lights, its surface an overall silvery-gray hue, radiating an overwhelming sense of technology and science fiction.

The crowd could not help but grow restless. Countless cries of shock rose in waves. Many whose nerves were weak or whose faith was too devout could no longer withstand it and fainted on the spot.

This was an utterly unmasked display of force. In fact, if Xiao Yu wished to destroy this planet, this single City-Class ship would have been more than enough to accomplish it.

Thousands of single-person flight units had already landed on the ground. Only at this moment did the crowd regain their wits. Countless journalists rushed forward carrying their cameras. Many others tried to take advantage of the confusion to climb aboard, only to be firmly blocked by the intelligent recognition systems mounted on the flyers.

Xiao Yu's grand voice continued to roll down from above. Thousands of journalists were swiftly carried into the City-Class ship by the single-person flyers. Even when their feet finally stepped onto this creation of a Level 5 Civilization, many journalists still hadn't fully processed it, standing there bewildered.

This news had already spread rapidly across the entire planet. In an instant, whether it was night or day in any given region, all television stations and internet platforms were overwhelmed with headlines.

"THE TRUE GOD TROLOR IS ABOUT TO BATTLE THE DEMON. THERE WILL BE A LIVE BROADCAST SO WE CAN WATCH!"

Countless people were jolted awake from their sleep. Without even bothering to dress, they rushed over to turn on their televisions or computers, staring unblinkingly at the screens. In places where it was daytime, countless people abandoned their work and gathered around every kind of signal terminal. Busy construction sites fell silent and still. On the bustling highways, every vehicle came to a stop, because the drivers, watching the live broadcast on their car-mounted terminals, could no longer drive.

In hospitals, even more bizarre scenes unfolded. In one case, a patient in the middle of surgery roared.

"Bring the TV over here! What are you doing operating at a time like this?!"

Amazingly, the surgeons actually obeyed. A few strong male doctors hauled a television set into the operating theater. They also topped up the patient's local anesthesia. And so, several doctors and a patient whose abdomen was cut wide open all huddled around the television, watching with rapt attention.

Every television channel and all online media outlets began live broadcasting this event. No matter where you were, indoors or outdoors, in a bar or in a public square, everywhere was filled with programs covering this battle.

This time, it was a true spectacle that emptied every street. The entire planet sank into absolute silence. Cars stopped roaring, machines ceased to run, and only a single voice kept broadcasting.

"Good day, viewers. I am a reporter from New Horizon Television. Right now, I am aboard the Great True God Trolor's ship. The True God is about to engage the demon in battle. I will bring you a live broadcast of the entire conflict from here… Let us begin to pray together, pray that the True God will defeat the demon…"

"Th-this… is this the demon's true form? My god! It's so enormous. According to the data the True God has provided us, this demon is more than seventy kilometers long and around seven kilometers wide. Just one of its tentacles is over ten kilometers in length. My god, this demon is terrifying! It must have come straight out of the depths of hell. There is no doubt it will bring only annihilation and destruction. It should stay in the underworld where it belongs, not set foot in this sunlit world…"

"E-everyone, look out the window. Th-this is our planet! We are moving away from our world. That is our home, it looks so beautiful… Beautiful things are always coveted by demons. For this immense demon, our world is almost completely defenseless. If not for the descent of the True God, we would have no power to resist…"

"According to the information provided by the True God, we are currently aboard one of his 'City-Class' ships within his fleet. A ship of this size, there are at least several hundred more of them in the fleet. Above the City-Class ships, the True God possesses even larger 'Province-Class' and 'Nation-Class' ships. To destroy our planet would probably require only a single City-Class ship. My god… the power of the True God truly is irresistible. With such overwhelming might, the True God will surely slay the demon."

"We are now approximately ten thousand kilometers from the planet. You can see, directly ahead, the master's fleet has completed its formation. My god, what an immense and unstoppable force this is! Th-that, over there, is that a Province-Class ship? It's-it's enormous! Could something like that really be built by the hands of living beings? The City-Class ships that we already thought were gargantuan are utterly insignificant before the Province-Class ships. Oh, no, no, what is that? It's so much larger than even the Province-Class ships! Is that a planet or a vessel built by intelligent life? You can see it yourself, it's a full twenty kilometers long! A true airborne fortress! Could this be the True God's flagship, the Nation-Class ship?"

"The battle hasn't started yet. You can see, the demon has retreated slightly. I think it must be terrified of the True God's tremendous power. It's flying back and forth, as if searching for a path to descend upon our home. But with the True God's fleet standing in its way, it has no chance of advancing. If that demon were to reach our world, no, the thought alone is too horrible to bear."

Through the communications link Xiao Yu had provided, streams of radio waves were racing back and forth between the Qingdao City-class ship and the surface of the planet, carrying this footage and commentary back to the ground, and then distributing it through terrestrial networks to every terminal, so that all the intelligent beings on the entire planet could watch.

At one school, the teachers had suspended classes. They gathered the young of this world's species in the main plaza. On one side of the plaza stood a giant screen, playing these images.

"Teacher, where did that demon come from? Why did it come here?"

One teacher, face solemn and reverent, replied.

"This demon came from the depths of the universe. It brings annihilation and death to our homeland. It wants to destroy everything that belongs to us. Fortunately, the True God has descended. The True God will use his unmatched strength to defeat this wicked demon and protect our peace."

"Teacher… will the True God lose?"

"The True God is all-powerful! The True God is invincible! The True God cannot fail!" the teacher declared with absolute conviction.

In a bar, two young people with blood streaming down their faces were huddled close in front of a television, watching the broadcast intently.

"Damn it, if it weren't for watching the True God and the demon's battle, I swear I'd hold you down and smash your skull in with a wooden bat!" one of them growled viciously, eyes never leaving the screen.

"I've already figured out how to beat you. If it weren't for this live broadcast, I'd show you exactly which skull would get smashed!"

"Fine, once the broadcast is over, we'll finish this!"

"We'll wait until the battle is done. If the True God loses, the whole planet will be destroyed, so you wouldn't be able to crack my head open anyway!"

In a tall building, a door creaked open. A sleepy-eyed elderly being shuffled into an office, swept his gaze over the room, and found that every single employee was staring intently at their computers. He instantly erupted in fury.

"What are you all doing?! You dare to slack off during work hours? Do you all want to be fired?"

His roar was thunderous, but no one paid him any mind. He paused, stunned, and grew even angrier.

"Fine, you all dare to ignore me? All of you, stand up right now!"

The office remained silent. At that moment, all the computers emitted a single voice in unison.

"Look, the battle between the True God and the demon has begun! Is this the True God's combat method? My god! Oh no, one of the True God's ships has been destroyed!"

"Uh?" He froze, then as if he suddenly remembered something, he rushed to stand beside an employee. With just one glance at the screen, he found he could not tear himself away.

He, too, sat down, motionless, watching the live broadcast.
