Chapter 906: Intense Training
The temporary departure of the Heart Talk Team drew many to see them off. Upon learning that Su Jin and the others were merely returning to the S City base to replenish supplies for the Heart Talk Store, and had no other matters at hand, Kou Ning decided not to bother with the commotion.
On the other hand, Yin Chengtian and Shi Jin wanted to accompany them on the way to the H Province base. Since parting ways with Guan Shouzhong and the others last time, they hadn't seen each other. Yin Chengtian and Shi Jin wanted to take the opportunity to stay at the H Province base for a while, and also to hunt zombies with some old friends.
Lu Hao naturally had no objections, and they could conveniently check if the H Province base was in need of any supplies.
"Be careful on the road, and thank you for the samples,"
Tang Xue said.
"We'll try to return before the samples run out, and during this time, if you need to purchase supplies, go to Guo Yang,"
said Su Jin, as the chubby little hands of Lu Wang, who was in Su Jin's arms, reached out and giggled at Tang Xue. Looking into Lu Wang's innocent eyes, Tang Xue felt even more determined in her belief.
She was determined to do something for everyone, for the current survivors, and for the planet they all depended on for survival...
After the Heart Talk Team left, Jian Zongzheng and his group experienced the various aspects of the Y Autonomous Region for the first time.
To ensure greater safety, they followed the advice of the Heart Talk Team and moved together with the trained team members. Today, they were near a local village, killing zombies.
Previously known as a tourist spot, this area had colorful paint on every house. The walls extended to the fields outside and even the ditches beside roads were overgrown with mutant grass over a meter high.
The Heart Talk Team had discussed these grasses during training, explaining that as long as one wasn't entangled with them while unconscious, they posed no significant danger.
The colorful low houses, set against the green grass, offered an interesting view from afar. The place was quite quiet, with only some zombies wandering the roads, running toward the people.
However, moments later, Xing Taian and others were dumbfounded.
As a zombie stood up from among the grass, more and more zombies slowly rose from within.
Gaunt, they fixed their white eyes on the people in the middle of the road.
Looking to the left, the situation was much the same as the right. A gust of wind bent the green grass, revealing piles of bones under the colorful walls and walls covered in handprints of dark blood...
Imagining the scene alone was enough to reveal how tragic the events that once took place here were.
"Captain Xing... perhaps we should run,"
Xiao Liu, the driver beside Xing Taian, couldn't help but suggest, looking at this eerie scene.
It wasn't just eerie; the number of zombies far exceeded their own.
"I'd like to run, but I'm afraid it's too late,"
Xing Taian said as he watched more zombies standing up from the mutant grass, with some impatiently approaching them, mouths wide open.
More zombies were also gradually emerging from behind the colorful houses...
They were surrounded.
"Captain Xing, this is Wang Zhu,"
"Vice Captain Wang?"
Just as Xing Taian was about to get out of the vehicle to fight back with everyone, he quickly picked up the walkie-talkie. Wang Zhu was the most strategic among them; perhaps he had a plan.
"Based on the zombies we killed this morning, I wouldn't recommend engaging in a direct fight,"
Wang Zhu said. The zombies here not only had more mutated zombies, but their endurance and damage were also greater compared to those elsewhere.
"Does Vice Captain Wang have any suggestions?"
Xing Taian knew he was considering the worst option, but they were already surrounded. There was no choice but to fight.
"Scatter and distract them, then get out of here,"
Wang Zhu could think of only this much, but fortunately, they were somewhat prepared before heading out.
Two unmanned empty vehicles were released by Wang Zhu from the space, with Yin Qiu standing on the roof of a car, taking two large barrels passed by Wang Zhu. Before the zombies pounced, he poured the contents over the two vehicles.
The big barrels contained blood from mutant animals obtained from Kou Ning of the Heart Talk Team. Although not human, it deeply stimulated the surrounding zombies.
Roars echoed thunderously.
"Captain Jian!"
Wang Zhu shouted at the right time.
Jian Zongzheng nodded, controlling the pedals and steering wheels of the two empty vehicles with his Metal Element Ability, whereupon the two blood-soaked vehicles roared forward in two directions, crashing away.
This was a strategy they had used before when cornered outside. However, Jian Zongzheng could only control the vehicles a limited distance with his ability, so they had to seize the opportunity to leave before the zombies chasing the cars realized.
"There are still too many, let me do it,"
Zhang Chuyang said.
When it came to luring zombies away, who better than him?
"Are you sure about this? This isn't like S City,"
Han Xiao and others with Jian Zongzheng seemed unconvinced.
"I'm almost about to reach Level Seven Speed Element, don't worry,"
Zhang Chuyang knew his teammates were concerned, but it was the perfect opportunity; the two vehicles had already drawn away some zombies.
"Chuyang, don't get entangled with the mutated plants here; we'll wait for you,"
Wang Zhu said. With Zhang Chuyang's strength and experience, luring those zombies should pose no problem.
"Don't worry,"
Zhang Chuyang replied, swiftly jumping out of the vehicle. As soon as the speed element ability was activated, the zombies became even more excited.
Zhang Chuyang, however, had already utilized the speed element ability, transforming into a blur as he sprinted down a side road with fewer zombies.
Roar, roar, roar!
The zombie horde, as if summoned, excitedly chased after Zhang Chuyang. Those inside the vehicle dared not make a sound as they watched the scene of zombies passing by outside.
"We're letting that kid take the risk again,"
Xing Taian said, somewhat guilty.
"Seize the timing! The back vehicles, start reversing!"
Only when Wang Zhu's voice came through did the driver at the rear react, quickly accelerating in reverse...
While sprinting at top speed, Zhang Chuyang finally understood why people in the Y Autonomous Region leveled up so quickly.
It wasn't just because he couldn't shake off the hordes of zombies behind him. After deliberately zigzagging around some obstacles, he had already lost most of the zombies. But then, what were these mutant animals chasing after him?!
Followed by a dozen mutant jackals and some unnamed mutant animals, Zhang Chuyang only felt like he was being chased by dogs.
Though he had slightly relaxed, he didn't dare to be careless at all. The key issue was that these mutant animals were chasing tirelessly, with no intention of stopping.
"Can't you all stop following me?..."
Zhang Chuyang lamented with tears streaming. This was testing the limits of his speed!
