Chapter 883: Arriving at Z Province
"It really is like that, healing indeed doesn't have much of an effect on Su Jin, hahaha."
Liang Jiuhui remarked joyfully.
He wasn't surprised by Su Jin's wood element healing, but was considering the current status of the wood element ability users at the base. He figured that once this news spreads, the value of the wood element ability users at the base would definitely rise significantly.
Wood element healing can't compare to healing element users, and currently, it's only female level-five and above wood element ability users that have been found to have healing effects. Yet, there was still a period of feverish interest in wood element abilities at the S City base.
However, the Heart Talk Team didn't get involved in this.
Because the family, using the excuse of going out, entered the space realm in an uninhabited area after leaving the base. Moments later, the whole family appeared neatly inside their home in Old Town H.
"Traveling a thousand miles a day, hahaha."
Nie Qing laughed heartily.
If they had traveled non-stop, it would have taken at least seven or eight days to reach H Province. Now, with the teleportation array within the space, it took just a few minutes to get here.
Having cleared away the zombies that gathered in the alley, Su Jin brought out an SUV from the space realm and they all headed towards the Y Autonomous Region together.
The previous RV was given to the Heart Talk Team for free by Liang Jiuhui. However, because the time they left the base was too close to when they appeared here, they prudently decided not to bring out the RV or armored car.
"After H Province, we will also be passing through Z Province, and the situation there is still unknown."
Su Xiangzhe said.
"Hmm, if possible, we'll try not to draw attention."
Su Jin and Lu Hao unanimously agreed, if any sudden situation arises, they could only appear under the guise of being part of the Dragon Ruler.
"Don't worry, I'll steer us well."
Chewing gum, Mao Qiqi blew a big bubble.
"Thanks, Qiqi."
Su Jin laughed.
Heading from Old Town H to the Y Autonomous Region didn't require passing through the H Province Base, so Su Jin confidently entered the space realm while in the car. Only a short while apart from Xiao Lu Xi and Xiao Lu Wang made her feel like she missed them for ages.
"Dad, if you're uncomfortable in the car, just go inside. There won't be any danger for a while along this road."
Driving, Lu Hao added, with Qiqi just having said that within her sensing range, aside from zombies and a few mutated beasts, there were no people around.
"Okay, I'll go check on the two little ones."
Saying this, Lu Guanhai entered the space realm, and Nie Qing, finding it somewhat boring in the car, also went inside to watch some drama.
"You all might as well go inside. More people in here just wastes fuel; I'll call for you if there's anything."
Su Xiangzhe said to Lin Cheng and the others.
The more people in the car, the more fuel it consumes. Though the impact isn't much, they indeed had a fuel shortage, so they needed to remember to collect more along the way.
"Alright, we'll come out later to switch with you."
Lin Cheng didn't hesitate and immediately went into the space realm with Huang Yunxiang and a few others.
"Xiao Hao, keep an eye out for any abandoned gas stations along the way; we can gather some fuel."
Su Xiangzhe reminded.
"Hmm, before the apocalypse, Z Province had oil fields; maybe we can detour to see if there's anything there."
Lu Hao suggested.
"Now that you mention it, that might really be the case, let me check the map."
Su Xiangzhe patted his thigh, pulled out a map, and began studying the route.
Perhaps because there were fewer people in the car, not many zombies were attracted along the way. The family took turns driving and resting in the space; occasionally, they encountered zombie hordes attracted by high-level mutated zombies. After traveling like this for two and a half days, they finally exited the H Province border.
"Ah, if only there were a formation to directly teleport to the Y Autonomous Region."
Lin Xiuyuan said, digging out crystal cores. Traveling directly from the S City base to Old Town H felt great, making the endless road feel like a time sink.
"We need to detour around Z Province ahead to see if we can collect any fuel."
Lu Hao remarked.
"As long as we avoid urban areas, it should be fine. This area of Z Province... seems to have turned into a desert at a glance."
Su Jin stood on the car roof, gazing into the distance.
Months without rain and extremely high temperatures left the roads they just traveled covered in sand. Su Jin worried they might lose the path if they continued.
"It's sweltering, everyone get in the car quickly."
Huang Yunxiang shielded herself with an umbrella from the scorching sun, using her water element ability to clean the newly dug-out crystal cores.
It was noon, and many zombies by the roadside had dried up under the sun, yet they still screeched and ran towards the family.
Whiz!
A stone spike flew past, smashing the zombie's head to mush, leaving black liquid that evaporated instantly.
"Their adaptability is impressive, dried to mummies yet still not dead."
Lin Xiuyuan clicked his tongue in wonder. Humans wouldn't last a day in such conditions.
Touching the scorching car, Su Jin suggested everyone rest in the space for a while as they had entered a region where days were long and nights were short. It was said to still be bright outside even at 8 PM, making it ill-suited for travel at this hour.
"Good idea, I'm melting here."
Nie Qing was the first to agree, holding an ice block from Lin Xiuyuan to occasionally cool his face, yet still feeling overheated.
Inside the space, Li Xiuying and Lin Yunguo watched the family rush into various side yards to cool off as soon as they entered, a routine they'd become used to. It was clear that the outside temperature hadn't dropped at all recently.
"It's odd, it's almost October outside, yet it's still this hot."
Lin Yunguo grumbled while setting the table for lunch.
"No point relying on the calendar, things can't be viewed through the usual lens anymore."
Li Xiuying said, pushing a double stroller with the chattering Lu Xi and Lu Wang inside.
Having finished her bath, Su Jin carried a cup of iced peach juice, feeling comfortable as she drank and walked over.
"Grandma, let me take over looking after them. You should rest."
"I'm not tired; Xixi and Wangwang are such well-behaved kids, not troublesome at all."
Li Xiuying adored her grandchildren greatly and hadn't felt bored at all, as the little ones filled her and Lin Yunguo's spare time.
The family's appetite while traveling and fighting zombies didn't disappoint Lin Yunguo; every dish he served was eagerly consumed, and Lin Xiuyuan even ate three bowls of rice before feeling full.
"Hehe, this rice is so delicious; I haven't eaten such good rice before."
Lin Xiuyuan said. The rice grown in the space was crystal clear and perfectly formed; even without any dishes, he could eat plenty.
"In that case, next time I'll make some rice balls to keep on hand. They're convenient to eat whenever you're hungry."
Lin Yunguo believed that rice balls made from this rice would surely be delicious.
