Chapter 244: Buying into Shares
In Liang Jiuhui’s office.
Looking at Xu Mingzhi who was sighing in front of him, Liang Jiuhui rubbed the corners of his eyes. The old man was urging him for supplies again today.
The hospital had been constructed, yet the only equipment it currently housed were beds…
Xu Mingzhi was anxious and so was he. For now, they had only some medical devices and medicine collected from a few small clinics in the suburbs. There had been many large hospitals in S city before, but they were all located in the city center – venturing there now would be tantamount to courting death.
At that moment, Guan Hong walked in and whispered something to Liang Jiuhui.
“Quickly let them in,” he said.
Although he didn’t know why Su Jin and Lin Tianhui had come, Su Jin usually wouldn’t seek him out unless it was important, and she was with Lin Tianhui too.
Could it be that Lin Tianhui no longer wished to work? He also knew that in the past, this family tended to act together and these days, to participate in the base’s construction, they indeed had been separated for quite some time.
Xu Mingzhi was also familiar with Su Jin and others, and although they hadn’t met many times, he had a profound impression of his life-saving benefactors. Moreover, he greatly admired the healer Lin Tianhui. Her Healing Art was more outstanding than her peers, not only in effectiveness but also in a higher amount of special ability power.
The reason for these two visiting Liang Jiuhui today, could it be that the healer didn’t wish to continue?Healers were currently in serious scarcity, no, he absolutely would not allow such an event to happen.
“Miss Lin of the Lin family, I was just discussing your matter with the Base Leader,” said Xu Mingzhi, putting on his most genial expression.
“Discussing me?” exclaimed Lin Tianhui, surprised.
“Ha ha, considering your excellent performances lately, our hospital has decided to give you a raise,” declared Xu Mingzhi earnestly.
Liang Jiuhui naturally understood his reaction, but he could only join in, “Yes, Su Jin, your mother is now a key member of the healing team. The hospital really can’t do without her now.”
Their flattering praise left Lin Tianhui feeling overwhelmed.
Was the Chief and the Base Leader together discussing matters because of her?
And they wanted to give her a raise?
“That’s good, our visit today is to negotiate about this matter concerning my mother,” said Su Jin.
Although Su Jin did not understand why Liang Jiuhui and Xu Mingzhi reacted the way they did upon their arrival, seeing that Xu Mingzhi was also there made things even more convenient.
“What? You want to donate a complete set of medical equipment?!” exclaimed Xu Mingzhi as he stood up uncontrollably.
Liang Jiuhui also felt that it was like someone bringing a pillow when one wants to nap – both unexpected and delightful!
“Speak, whatever conditions you have, we will try our best to meet them,” said Liang Jiuhui with a smile, knowing full well that Su Jin would never make a loss-making deal.
“I want to invest in the hospital on behalf of my mother and make her one of the shareholders of the Base Hospital,” Su Jin stated while looking at Liang Jiuhui.
Everyone present, aside from Su Jin and Lin Tianhui, was astounded by her announcement.
Invest in the Base Hospital? Could one really do such a thing?
“This is truly surprising. I thought you were going to ask for Crystal Cores again,” Liang Jiuhui said, not in the least bit upset and, in fact, quite pleased.
To know that currently, he was the largest shareholder of the hospital, Su Jin’s family desiring to become shareholders meant that no matter what happened in the future, they would be allies.
The base seemed peaceful at the moment, yet there were no few people vying for power and influence. Aside from Jia Kaiji, who was at the top of his list to deal with, Guo Yang had heard recent news that Capital City was sending people to various bases, with a purpose that was clear to everyone.
Therefore, from all aspects, he had no reason to refuse Su Jin’s proposal.
“I don’t ask for much, just 10% of the shares, all under my mother’s name will do,”
Seeing that Liang Jiuhui did not refuse, Su Jin stated her demand.
10% isn’t much?! Xu Mingzhi bowed his head, silently calculating. He only had 5%, which Liang Jiuhui had given him out of gratitude for his numerous contributions to the Refuge. Although he also earned a monthly salary, in reality, he was just a worker.
And this young girl, asking for 10% right off the bat?
“Agreed, I accept,”
Liang Jiuhui agreed without even a hint of hesitation.
Forget it, he might as well not calculate anymore. It seems like he has acquired another boss, Xu Mingzhi thought with a hint of sorrow.
However, thinking of the over hundred sets of medical equipment Su Jin had, he reconciled himself. The new hospital was in desperate need of this equipment; without it and a sufficient supply of medicine, it could not be called a hospital.
Seeing how easily Liang Jiuhui consented, Su Jin’s breath hitched. Had she asked for too little?
Why was there a feeling of regret, like trying to haggle only for the seller to immediately agree?
If only she had asked for more!
However, Su Jin did not show any sign of this. As long as the deal could be struck, she was satisfied. After all, that batch of medical equipment she had come upon unexpectedly was idle in her Space anyway.
“That, I wanted to ask, what does that batch of medical equipment include?” Xu Mingzhi’s interest was still more in the equipment itself.
Before Su Jin came this morning, she had specifically gone to her Space to check the equipment, so she replied: “There are oxygen supply devices, parameter monitoring equipment, defibrillators, ventilators, electrocardiogram monitors, and the like.”
“My gosh, Jiuhui, with this equipment, we have nothing to worry about!”
Xu Mingzhi was overjoyed, inadvertently forgetting to correct how he addressed Liang Jiuhui.
However, Liang Jiuhui didn’t mind. He was also surprised; although he was a layman, he understood that these devices were all essential equipment for a hospital.
“On behalf of the base, I thank you,” said Liang Jiuhui.
“Don’t mention it. Once the paperwork is done, Guo Yang and I will directly deliver the equipment to the hospital,” Su Jin said with a smile.
Liang Jiuhui marveled once more at the vastness of Guo Yang’s Space, being able to accommodate so many pieces of medical equipment. Such a Space really was too convenient.
Just as Su Jin was about to leave with Guo Yang, Liang Jiuhui called out to her, as there was something else he urgently needed to discuss with her.
“A lecture series?”
Su Jin hadn’t expected Liang Jiuhui to have such a plan.
Liang Jiuhui was fully supportive of the training fervor that had suddenly emerged in the base. He even decided to set up free lecture series about killing zombies, with a total of 12 sessions. Ordinary people and Special Ability Users in the base could attend, and for those who couldn’t make it, the lectures would be cycled through the administrative hall later on.
Once the notice about the lecture series was posted, everyone in the base was abuzz.
The 12 sessions started with a lecture designed for ordinary people without Special Abilities. The remaining sessions were aimed at specific Special Abilities namely metal, wood, water, fire, Earth, Ice, wind, thunder, electricity, Healing, Power, and speed. For ordinary people who had never killed zombies before and those unfamiliar with the various Special Abilities, this was an excellent opportunity.
Su Jin also thought that Liang Jiuhui’s approach could be considered comprehensive. To the people in the base, these were essentially lifesaving lectures.
But what did this have to do with her?
