Chapter 338: A Turn for the Better (Part 2)
"Tang Yue, let's play a game," Lian Qingyang patted his backpack and said, "Look, I brought my laptop today, and it's the latest model."
Lian Qingyang was like a little kid showing off his treasure.
"Big sis, who is he?" Tang Jun looked at Lian Qingyang, who was a bit taller than him. Tang Jun felt that Lian Qingyang looked somewhat familiar, but couldn't pinpoint where he had seen him before.
"Is this your younger brother? He's even taller than you," Lian Qingyang said in an overly familiar manner, introducing himself, "My name is Lian Qingyang. I'm your big sister's college classmate."
"Big sis, a college classmate came to our house?" Tang Jun walked up to Tang Yue and whispered in her ear, "Does Brother Mo know?"
Tang Jun now revered Mo Siyu completely, so when he saw a strange man following his sister all the way to their home, he naturally worried for Brother Mo.
"What nonsense are you thinking?" Tang Yue raised her hand and thumped him on the head, saying, "He's just a normal friend."
"Even a normal friend found his way from Jing City to here?" Tang Jun muttered, rubbing his head where he was hit.
Tang Yue courteously invited Lian Qingyang into their home. When Zhang Hualian saw Lian Qingyang, she was taken aback for a moment and only after Tang Yue made introductions did Zhang Hualian warmly welcome him.
While Lian Qingyang and Tang Jun were playing games in the living room,
Zhang Hualian pulled Tang Yue aside into a room and asked seriously, "Xiao Yue, what's going on with him? Is he pursuing you? How come you gave him our home address? You and Si Yu are engaged."
Zhang Hualian looked sternly at Tang Yue, fearing she would act rashly, and said earnestly, "Xiao Yue, you must not make any mistakes. This marriage has been set, and if you dare to call it off, I won't agree."
Tang Yue felt helpless but also found it funny and said, "Mom, it's really not what you're thinking. I don't know how he found our home, but I can assure you, he really has no other intentions towards me."
"A man comes all the way to your home, and he's supposed to have no feelings for you?" Zhang Hualian thought her daughter was too naïve.
Tang Yue explained again and again: "Mom, he's like a little brother in my heart, just like Xiao Jun, and besides, he just likes playing games."
"Really?" Zhang Hualian was skeptical.
Tang Yue had no choice but to say, "Mom, just rest assured, in this life, I will only marry Mo Siyu. The marriage is set, and I definitely won't call it off."
"That's good to hear. Although there's nothing more between you two, you still need to be clear about boundaries. Otherwise, if Si Yu finds out, he would definitely be unhappy," Zhang Hualian really liked Mo Siyu as her son-in-law.
At noon, Lian Qingyang ate two bowls full of food and began playing games with Tang Jun. With Tang Jun around, Lian Qingyang didn't pay much attention to Tang Yue anymore.
Zhang Hualian, seeing Lian Qingyang so focused on playing games that he paid no mind to anything else, believed Tang Yue's words. If he really had feelings for Xiao Yue, he wouldn't be so indifferent.
"Mom, I'm going out for a bit," Tang Yue said.
Zhang Hualian replied, "Okay."
"Lian Qingyang, you just play games with Xiao Jun," Tang Yue told him.
Lian Qingyang waved his hand and continued to play games seriously with Tang Jun.
Tang Yue got news today that Liu Hu's illegitimate son had been found, so she went to take a look.
"Bai Qing, what are you doing here?" Tang Yue saw Bai Qing, who was supposed to be sightseeing in Wangjiang County, and wondered what she was doing here.
"I'm looking for Liu Zixuan," Bai Qing saw that she had come as well and simply didn't hide it.
Tang Yue gratefully said, "Bai Qing, thank you."
"Don't mention it," Bai Qing said nonchalantly.
Tang Yue gazed intently at her profile and asked, "You're not some distant relative of Si Yu, are you?"
If there had been doubts before, by now, it was confirmation.
After returning to Wangjiang County, Bai Qing didn't even bother to look for Aunt Mo. Since her father's accident, Bai Qing had already found some information on Liu Hu, and today, she even found Liu Hu's illegitimate child. If she was really just a distant relative, as an outsider, she absolutely wouldn't have been able to investigate these matters.
"Mhm." Bai Qing nodded, then quickly changed the subject, "This Liu Zixuan, seventeen years old, a chip off the old block—gambling, drinking, womanizing, you name it, he's into it. Guess what news I dug up today?"
"What?" Tang Yue looked at Bai Qing excitedly, feeling that Bai Qing's smile seemed to hint at a lead.
Bai Qing whispered the information softly into Tang Yue's ear.
Tang Yue immediately beamed with joy; it was great news—there was newfound hope for her dad's case.
After leaving Liu Zixuan, Tang Yue went by herself to get a photograph. She wrote a few words on the back of it and then sent it off as quickly as possible.
"Xiao Yang, what are you doing here?" Bai Qing was shocked and surprised to see Lian Qingyang when she returned to the Tang Family home.
"You're the one who's Xiao Yang." Lian Qingyang retorted without any good humor, "If little green snake can be here, why can't I?"
"Thwack." Bai Qing flicked him on the head.
Lian Qingyang appeared to be prepared and swiftly backed away; with a self-satisfied look, he gloated, "You didn't hit me."
Bai Qing crossed her arms and pointed at his computer, which looked like it was about to fall over, "Your computer's about to be trashed."
"Ah..." Lian Qingyang watched the computer falling and let out a loud scream. He dove to the floor and managed to catch it, embracing his computer affectionately, "My computer is safe, at least."
"Little green snake, let's play some games?" Lian Qingyang invited her excitedly.
"Call me 'big sis'." Bai Qing gave him a sideways glance, "Childish, who'd play games with you."
Just then, Tang Jun happened to go back to his room, leaving just the two of them in the living room.
"You'd better find somewhere else to stay, Tang Family doesn't have room for you," Bai Qing stated plainly.
"No, if you can manage to stay here, why can't I?" Lian Qingyang countered, "I can share a room with Tang Yue's younger brother."
"Better not." Bai Qing said irritably, "Tang Family doesn't have the time to look after you right now."
"I can take care of myself," Lian Qingyang maintained.
That evening, the Tang Family's dinner was exceptionally lavish. There was a breakthrough in Mr. Tang's case, so Tang Yue was particularly delighted. While washing dishes, she quietly informed Mrs. Tang about the hopeful news concerning Mr. Tang.
Zhang Hualian was, of course, extremely happy.
Lian Qingyang overheard some of it as he walked by. Not quite catching everything, he went to ask Bai Qing.
Bai Qing glared at him, "What's it to you, kid?"
Lian Qingyang stood up tall, looking down at her, "You're the little girl here, so short."
Bai Qing threw a punch, and the two of them erupted into a scuffle immediately, especially since they were in the yard and could really let loose.
Tang Jun saw them fighting and hurried over to tell Tang Yue. She seemed as if she was accustomed to their brawls and said, "It's fine. As soon as they decide who wins, they'll stop fighting."
