Chapter 317: Coming to See You (Fourth Update)
"Xiao Yue." Mo Siyu's voice rang out from outside the door. In the quiet night, his voice was like a cello, calm, gentle, and steady. As if upon hearing his voice, all fears and unease dissipated in an instant.
Tang Yue's previous nervousness faded away the moment she heard his voice, her smile brightening her face instantaneously. She put down her paintbrush and, light as a butterfly, fluttered to the door.
Under the moonlight, Mo Siyu's tall figure stood there, the soft moonbeams casting over him. Though his face was not clear, one could feel his smile.
"You're here," Tang Yue said excitedly as she threw herself at Mo Siyu.
Mo Siyu spread his arms and caught her firmly, her tender warmth easing the hardships of his travel, which evaporated like smoke.
"I've missed you." Mo Siyu hugged her tightly. He had planned to come last night, but something came up unexpectedly and he couldn't make it.
After finishing work early today, he hurried over from the fleet as soon as he could.
"Heehee~" Tang Yue looked up at him and asked, "Have you had dinner yet?"
"No." Mo Siyu pressed his forehead against hers, rubbing noses with her, and said, "I want to eat you."
Tang Yue blushed, pushed him away, and scurried to the kitchen. She started a fire, boiled water for noodles, her movements practicing and skilled.
Mo Siyu stood behind her and stepped forward to help.
Tang Yue shooed him away, saying, "You're better off not helping."
"No." Mo Siyu didn't leave. Instead, he wrapped his arms around her from behind, his cheek resting against her face.
Tang Yue gave a resigned sigh and said, "Uncle Mo, have you no shame?"
"No need for that," Mo Siyu responded without hesitation. What was the need for shame in front of his future wife?
"Pfft~"
Tang Yue didn't expect such a forthright answer. She let him hold her as she went on with her cooking—lifting noodles, frying eggs. Mo Siyu simply held her, even standing in front of her while she fried the eggs, worried about the oil splattering on her.
"Here, the noodles are ready. Try them." Tang Yue, concerned that Mo Siyu might not have enough, deliberately made an extra portion, just in case he was still hungry.
"It smells delicious." Mo Siyu took a deep breath. This was the first time Tang Yue made noodles for him right in front of him.
The noodles were simple, not overly seasoned, but the aroma of the eggs and noodles with a sprinkle of green onions on top was enticing.
Mo Siyu ate heartily, praising her as he went, "Delicious."
"Uncle Mo, I just used some oil, salt, and soy sauce. Is it really that tasty?" Tang Yue rested her chin in her hand, her smile beaming as she watched him gobble down the food. She reminded him, "Don't eat so fast. No one's competing with you."
Mo Siyu didn't reply until he had finished up all the noodles, then he said with satisfaction, "Xiao Yue, if I could eat a bowl of noodles made by you every day, I'd die happy."
These were the best noodles he had ever had in his life, bar none.
Tang Yue rolled her eyes at him and said, "You're easily contented."
"Because you made them," Mo Siyu replied, looking deeply at her before he walked into the kitchen with the dishes.
While Tang Yue offered to wash up, Mo Siyu refused solemnly, saying that her hands should be well taken care of and not sullied by grease.
Tang Yue stood by with a giggly smile, watching Mo Siyu tidy up the kitchen until it was spotless, as if no dough had ever been made there.
She praised, "Uncle Mo, you're pretty good at cleaning the kitchen."
"I'm also good at cleaning the house," Mo Siyu said, as if something occurred to him. He took her hand and they rested in the yard. He said, "I've already cleaned up the house. The kitchen cabinets arrived a few days ago; I wiped them down with a damp cloth. The windows have been airing out for several days now, so you can bring your clothes over anytime."
"Also, I bought you a pair of slippers," Mo Siyu continued, his ears turning slightly red as he spoke of the slippers. It happened by chance when he passed by the market and saw these particularly pretty pink rabbit slippers. While purchasing them, the seller kept praising him for being good to his wife.
It was only after the purchase that Mo Siyu remembered not to carry them in a bag, so there he was, a tall man of 1.8 meters, carrying a pair of pink slippers back to the motor pool. Although the pocket of his white shirt was large, it couldn't fit the slippers.
Because of this, Qin Anhao and the others had a good laugh at him, but he was only comforted by the fact that it was evening and not many people saw him.
"Really?" Tang Yue, unaware of the details, asked suspiciously, "What made you think of buying slippers for me?"
"They looked nice," Mo Siyu replied.
He said, "Don't you like wearing slippers at home?"
His gaze drifted lower to the pink slippers Tang Yue was wearing on her feet.
Even though Tang Yue had lived for most of her life, deep down she still had a young girl's heart. She liked light-colored things and would occasionally wear something with a touch of light pink.
"I like them." Tang Yue was a bit eager to go to the motor pool to see their home.
Night.
Deepened.
Seeing that Mo Siyu had no intention of leaving, she asked, "When are you going back to the motor pool? Do you have leave?"
"No," Mo Siyu said as he embraced her, "There's nothing tonight, I have to return to the motor pool early in the morning."
"Then, are you going to sleep here?" Tang Yue glanced at her bed. Although it was big enough, but... to sleep in the same room with him, this...
"Mmm, find some clothes to change into." Mo Siyu looked at her and asked, "You made some clothes for me, right?"
Tang Yue silently took out the clothes she had made for him from the closet. During the summer holiday when she had nothing else to do, she made several outfits for Mo Siyu, but had not yet had the chance to give them to him.
"There are no pants inside." Tang Yue handed over the clothes, a bit embarrassed as she spoke.
"It's alright, I took a shower before coming," Mo Siyu quickly took a cold shower and deliberately wore the clothes Tang Yue made for him. It was a set of home clothes, a tank top and a pair of big shorts.
"Xiao Yue, the clothes are really comfortable, it's just that..." Mo Siyu wasn't used to wearing such clothes and felt somewhat ill at ease.
Tang Yue nodded in approval and said: "I think they're great, isn't it just the right size? From now on, after taking a bath, you can wear them at home."
"Okay." After getting used to it, Mo Siyu pulled Tang Yue to bed.
Tang Yue didn't even get a chance to react when Mo Siyu's soft kisses fell upon her. Fresh from his bath, he carried the scent of her soap, and though it was a fragrance she smelled every day, it became even more enticing on Mo Siyu.
After a while, Mo Siyu stopped, looked at the dazed Tang Yue, gently kissed her lips and said in a husky voice, "Xiao Yue, in eleven months, you'll be twenty."
"Hmm." Tang Yue was limp and relaxed; she heard his words unexpectedly and did not respond right away.
