Tang Yue's heart pounded like thunder, scenes from earlier popping into her mind. Everything had seemed so natural. From her body to her heart, there was no rejection towards Mo Siyu, she had completely accepted him. If not for Mo Siyu suddenly hitting the brakes, perhaps...
Tang Yue closed her eyes, wishing she could hide under the covers forever.
After a long while, feeling suffocated, she stealthily lifted a corner of the blanket, breathing in the fresh air.
"Xiao Yue, why cover up so tightly? Aren't you hot?" Mo Siyu, who had emerged from the bathroom at some point, pulled back her blanket and directed the fan towards her. He lay down next to her, holding her as he said, "Let's sleep."
Mo Siyu turned off the light.
Tang Yue nestled in his arms, motionless.
"Dummy." Mo Siyu chuckled, saying, "You're so stiff, do you plan on staying like this all night?"
"You're the one who is clinging so close to me," Tang Yue replied irritably. In the pitch-black room, her nervousness and shyness eased slightly.
Mo Siyu held her even tighter and said, "I have some self-control, I promise I won't make a move on you."
"If a man's words could be trusted, pigs could climb trees," Tang Yue said with a smile, then realizing he couldn't see it, she let it fade.
Mo Siyu leaned in close, whispering by her ear, "So, Xiao Yue, were you looking forward to continuing what we started just now?"
Tang Yue: "..."
Never mind, better not to continue. Who knows what shameless things he might say next.
Mo Siyu held her hand, saying, "Men's words may not be trustworthy, but you can believe mine, Xiao Yue. I'm a very traditional man. I want to save our most beautiful day for our wedding night. So, Xiao Yue, please don't make me wait too long."
"..." Tang Yue chose not to respond to that, pretending to be asleep.
Mo Siyu didn't press her for a response. The room was very quiet. Holding the woman he loved most in his arms, Mo Siyu was very relaxed.
It wasn't until Tang Yue fell asleep that Mo Siyu stealthily kissed her again, which resulted in him taking another cold shower.
When he came back, Mo Siyu had learned his lesson and gently held Tang Yue without further disturbances.
*
In the morning, when Tang Yue woke up, the spot beside her was empty, even the bed next to hers looked untouched, not at all like someone had slept there.
She stretched lazily, and after washing up, she began tidying things up. Halfway through, Mo Siyu returned with a lavish breakfast.
There were soy milk, fried dough sticks, steamed buns, and large flatbreads. The buns came with meat, sweet, and vegetable fillings. The feast dumbfounded Tang Yue, who asked, "You bought so much, can we finish it all?"
"Just pick what you like. Whatever we don't eat, I'll take care of," Mo Siyu said.
Tang Yue took the soy milk and dough sticks, and pushed the rest towards him, saying, "These are for you."
Mo Siyu's face immediately darkened as he said, "Xiao Yue, aren't you going to eat even one bun? And the flavor of these pancakes is also quite good."
"I eat less in the morning." Tang Yue said as she ate the dough sticks and drank the soy milk, smiling at Mo Siyu as he finished off the several large buns and pancakes.
Mo Siyu had a large appetite, but after finishing, he also felt stuffed, Tang Yue kept calling him silly for buying so much breakfast to bring back.
After breakfast, Mo Siyu took Tang Yue to prepare to visit Mo Xiaoyu's home. Along the way, Tang Yue bought some fruits and pastries, knowing that there was a three-year-old child in Mo Xiaoyu's home, she specifically picked some snacks that children love to eat, and also bought a toy liked by girls—a cute plush doll.
After preparing these, they followed Mo Siyu to the door.
Mo Xiaoyu's home was not far from the city center, about an hour's journey, and it was a tube-shaped apartment building.
Mo Xiaoyu's husband was Xie Quan, who did a bit of small business in Sea City. Although they weren't very prosperous, they managed to get by.
Mo Siyu had been working in Jing City, and had visited once during Mo Xiaoyu's wedding; he had a good memory and found Mo Xiaoyu's residence right away.
"Sister Xiaoyu, I'm pregnant. The traditional Chinese doctor said it's a boy. Please, just let me and Xie Quan be together."
In the living room, a woman pleaded in a low, gentle voice.
"Wan Wei, when did you and Xie Quan get together?" Mo Xiaoyu's voice trembled as she had been stunned since she found out.
She met Xie Quan when she was nineteen, while attending university in Sea City; they were college classmates. During their student days, they started a business together; those times were tough, she often used her time to struggle alongside Xie Quan, staying up all night to stock or clear inventory, and then attending classes the next day.
After graduating from university, she and Xie Quan got married. The business gradually improved and made some money, and they barely managed to buy a house in a tube-shaped apartment building. When she got pregnant, Xie Quan was overjoyed, and although he was a bit regretful at the birth of their daughter, he said nothing and continued to work hard at his business.
Life went on peacefully for three years, and they had saved some money at home. Mo Xiaoyu had already planned to let Zheng Chunhong help take care of her child later when the kid grew older. She would join Xie Quan in business for a few more years, make money for a few more years, and then buy a bigger house. After that, they could have a son and their life would be complete.
But, who knew that man proposes, God disposes.
When Mo Xiaoyu found out about Wan Wei and Xie Quan, she felt like the sky had fallen.
Wan Wei answered in a low voice, "The second month after I started working at the factory."
Mo Xiaoyu took a deep breath, her gaze falling on Xie Quan beside her, she asked, "Xie Quan, what about you, are you willing to divorce and marry her, let her bear you a son?" Mo Xiaoyu's voice involuntarily rose a few notches by the end.
"I'm sorry." Xie Quan lowered his head, his simple and honest face filled with remorse.
Initially, being with Wan Wei was an accident, but he didn't stop it in time, instead became deeply mired, and it had reached this point today. Wan Wei said if he wouldn't marry her, she wouldn't give birth to this son.
"Bang." Mo Siyu kicked the door open.
Everyone in the room, who had not expected anyone outside, was scared out of their wits.
Especially Mo Xiaoyu, who was completely stunned at seeing Mo Siyu. She instinctively wiped away her tears and managed a smile, saying, "Si Yu, why are you here? Xie Quan, go and make some tea. This is Xie Quan's employee, he made a mistake and was…"
Mo Xiaoyu instinctively did not want Mo Siyu to know about these things, so she quickly found an excuse.
Mo Siyu looked coldly at Xie Quan, and asked, "Xie Quan, as a man, do you dare to take responsibility for your actions?"
