Chapter 4: Chapter 3 Hoarding_2
After parting ways, Gu Yanzhi and Song Zhao first went to the suburbs and rented two large warehouses, sending the warehouse addresses to Gu Yanlin. All the hoarded items were first delivered to these warehouses, and when no one was around, Gu Yanzhi moved them all into the space.
Then the two went to the largest wholesale market in City C.
They purchased 50 tons of rice, 50 tons of flour, 10,000 kilograms of soybean oil, various packages of dried vegetables, 1 ton of dried meat, and 10,000 bags of instant noodles in various flavors, among other items.
To avoid arousing suspicion from the market wholesalers, the two falsely claimed they were in the export business, buying these items for selling abroad to earn foreign money.
The two asked the wholesalers to deliver the goods in batches over several days to facilitate easy retrieval. The wholesalers welcomed their large orders and even offered them the most favorable discounts, as these were major customers making purchases that could sustain them for half a year.
However, to avoid attracting attention, they did not buy too many items at this wholesale market but planned instead to travel across several cities to complete their stockpile.
After placing their orders at the wholesale market, it was already past 3 p.m. Both were incredibly hungry and found a hotpot restaurant nearby with decent ratings to satiate their hunger. They also placed an order with the owner to prepare 200 servings of various dishes and hotpot bases to give as benefits to company employees, needing it urgently and in large quantity, prompting the owner to close the restaurant for the afternoon and evening to pack their order with all his staff.
When leaving, the owner couldn't stop smiling and eagerly welcomed them to visit again.
With the large quantity of hotpot items, Gu Yanzhi immediately called Gu Yanlin to buy a refrigerated truck to take the items away.
After loading the truck, the three found a secluded place away from surveillance cameras where Gu Yanzhi moved the hotpot into the space, then drove the refrigerated truck back to the residential complex. The security guard at the gate wondered about rich people's strange tastes—not only fancy cars but also refrigerated trucks.
On the third day, while still asleep, Gu Yanzhi was abruptly awakened by an irritating doorbell.
Although Song Zhao connected the call at the sound of the first ring, the jarring noise still woke Gu Yanzhi up.
Yawning, Gu Yanzhi walked out of the bedroom and asked, "Who is it?"
"Next time, don't come out without shoes," seeing Gu Yanzhi walking barefoot on the cold floor, Song Zhao quickly grabbed slippers for him and while putting them on said, "It's the downstairs security, Gu Qiang and Gu Li are here, probably to discuss the shares."
"Oh, then I'll go back. You talk to them, I don't want to see them," Gu Yanzhi turned and went back to the bedroom, scared of not being able to restrain her murderous intent upon seeing Gu Qiang.
"Mmm, do you want breakfast? Go wash up, I'll bring it to your room," Song Zhao, who had been up since just past 7 a.m., had already ordered breakfast, warmed it in the pot, waiting to eat together with Gu Yanzhi.
"Sure, thanks, Brother Zhao," Gu Yanzhi turned and smiled at Song Zhao, which left him stunned.
It felt good, Gu Yanzhi had been very cautious these past days, except when eating, her spirits were low at other times. It had been several days since he last saw her smile so brightly, relaxing Song Zhao's tense heart instantly.
"Bang bang bang bang ..." The sound of knocking pulled Song Zhao back to reality.
However, he didn't immediately attend to the knocking, but first arranged the breakfast in the room before opening the door.
As soon as she entered, Gu Li complained, "Xiao Zhao, what were you doing? We were knocking outside for a long time, didn't you hear?"
"Probably charmed our Gu Family's little princess, got arrogant, huh? Doesn't think much of us poor relatives," Li Hong chimed in with Gu Li, making snide remarks.
They had initially thought that they could get shares without spending a penny, but now, not only did they have to drain their savings, they also had to let their sister-in-law meddle in, filling Li Hong's heart with bitterness.
"If you're not here to talk about the shares, please leave," Song Zhao said coolly.
Knowing that Mr. Gu and Mrs. Gu had been schemed against and died because of the people before him, Song Zhao now disliked these individuals intensely, wishing he could kill them. However, his ability to manage his expressions well prevented others from detecting any hints.
"Of course, we're here to discuss the shares. Song Zhao, let's settle for 100 billion. Our family and aunt will buy it together; at least we won't let the Gu Family's possessions fall into outsiders' hands. You're lucky to get away with it, you little thief," Gu Yanqi followed as well, speaking before Gu Qiang could, his tone filled with superiority and disdain.
"Please leave," Song Zhao said tersely, sipping tea from the cup in front of him.
"Slap!"
Gu Qiang slapped the back of Gu Yanqi's head: "Apologize to Brother Zhao."
"Sorry," Gu Yanqi said reluctantly.
From childhood, he had always disliked Song Zhao, even though he was the real family member, his uncle and aunt always favored this outsider over him. Therefore, when not in sight of his parents, Gu Yanqi often bullied Song Zhao. But he only dared to flex his verbal muscles, afraid Zhao would complain, he never got physically aggressive.
"Uncle, have you made up your mind today?"
Song Zhao ignored Gu Yanqi, looking directly at Gu Qiang. Being ignored, Gu Yanqi cursed internally again.
"Xiao Zhao, although your brother Yanqi's tone was a bit harsh, he was telling the truth. We really can't pull together two hundred billion; your aunt and I managed to round up just about one hundred. Let's settle for that, or maybe we can leave you a bit more shares," Gu Qiang said.
"Yeah, yeah, Xiao Zhao, let's just do one hundred, it's not a small amount. If my brother and sister-in-law were here, they would definitely agree," Gu Li hastily added.
Song Zhao glanced sideways at Gu Qiang, speaking nonchalantly: "I already said last time, it's 200 billion. Today is the final deadline. If uncle and aunt don't have the money, let's not waste each other's time. I've already settled things with President Zhang,"
