Chapter 521: Chapter 521: The Thunder Serpent
After incinerating the King of Abomination with a breath of dragon fire, Yuna curiously glanced at the strange black dragon.
This enormous creature, vastly different in appearance from ordinary black dragons, was gnawing eagerly on the severed arm of the King of Abomination. Unperturbed by Yuna stealing its kill, it merely cast a glance at her before continuing to feast on the limb.
"A black dragon that large is a rare sight."
Yuna murmured to herself and then departed from this material plane.
Eager for her duel with Garon and having expended minimal effort in defeating the King of Abomination, Yuna headed directly to other material worlds plagued by wild gods, foregoing any rest at the Dragon Court.
With the King of Abomination dead and Yuna gone, the grotesquely obese black dragon continued devouring the severed arm. Still unsatisfied, it turned to consume the land now transformed into the King of Abomination's twisted flesh, showing no aversion to the gruesome and repulsive meat and organs.
The Elven Goddess, having barely escaped the clutches of the King of Abomination, wobbled on her wings and quickly fled this material world, laden with horrifying memories.
At the Dragon Court, in the Hall of Eternal Spirits:
"Powerful aberrant dragons are few in the main timeline, but there should be more than one."
"However, they haven't shown up in this war."
Garon had been observing the aberrant black dragon for a while. After watching it devour the King of Abomination's grotesque flesh and organs at an astonishing speed, he channeled the power of time to create a temporary avatar in the material world and descended.
This aberrant black dragon was over 5,000 years old, just stepping into the ancient dragon stage.
Having gorged itself, its already corpulent body had swollen even more. It now lay on the rugged ground, rubbing its round belly with paws resembling pig's trotters, occasionally shoveling bits of earth and rock into its mouth.
It appeared utterly content.
Meanwhile, the power of time gathered in the sky, forming Garon's shape.
The radiant platinum eyes, the three pairs of crown-like horns, and the vast silver-gray scales reminiscent of the deep cosmos made the silver dragon look majestic. The plump black dragon raised its head, its eyes, squished to appear like tiny green peas due to its chubby cheeks, reflected the magnificent silver dragon.
Garon lowered his gaze, scrutinizing the aberrant black dragon's form before finally locking eyes with its black pupils.
Despite being an ancient dragon, this black dragon's intelligence seemed below average, even compared to ordinary adult black dragons. Most black dragons excelled in cunning and schemes, ranking high among the chromatic dragons in terms of intelligence.
But the aberrant black dragon's eyes were extraordinarily clear, almost innocent to Garon.
To find such clarity and innocence in the eyes of an ancient dragon was beyond astonishing.
But having seen the black dragon's past through the Eyes of Time, Garon understood. This creature, though over 5,000 years old, had spent 99% of its life eating and sleeping, with naturally low intelligence and limited experiences, leading to its current state.
Gazing into the black dragon's pure, nearly imperceptible eyes, Garon's entire silver form shimmered faintly, casting a shadow that blotted out the sun. He spoke in a deep voice: "Black Dragon Callie."
"You, with the body of an ancient demigod dragon, defeated the primordial wild god, the King of Abomination, demonstrating the might of true dragons as the rulers of the multiverse."
"I am Garon Aurelian, Lord of the Dragon Court, Time Dragon God, and I will bestow upon you a reward in the name of the Dragon Court."
The chubby black dragon blinked, not immediately asking for a reward but curiously inquired, "Huh? How do you know my name? This is my first time seeing you."
Having just awakened from a long slumber, this black dragon had no knowledge of Garon, the new Dragon God.
"As a Dragon God, I naturally know all about my kin."
Upon hearing Garon's words, Callie the black dragon gasped and hastily tried to tuck its short, plump limbs together, lowering its head as if trying to bury it in the ground, displaying an act of fear and submission.
"Your Grace, Dragon God, please forgive my ignorance for not recognizing you. Please, in your vast mercy, do not punish this little black dragon."
Is it really this gullible?
Although Garon exuded an extraordinary presence, he was merely an avatar, lacking the divine glow of his true form. The black dragon, having heard just a few words and sensing Garon's transcendent aura, immediately believed in his divinity.
A normal black dragon would never be so easily convinced.
"Do not be alarmed. Lift your head."
"You have earned merit by defeating the wild god. I am here to reward, not to punish."
Hovering high in the sky, the silver dragon's eyes were profound as he spoke.
The black dragon lifted its head from the ground, gazing up at Garon, its eyes twinkling. "Great Dragon God, can I choose my reward?"
Garon smiled faintly. "You may."
Callie's head swayed, saliva dripping in large streams from its mouth as it said, "Then I want something delicious, something I've never eaten before."
Food… Garon, seeing the black dragon's greedy expression, had already anticipated its desire before it even spoke.
He extended his dragon claw and made a slight motion.
Simultaneously, a Time Amber disappeared from the Dragon Court's lair and emerged in the material world, floating before Garon.
Inside the translucent Time Amber, against a backdrop of miniature cosmic stars, a lifelike mini shark was frozen in place.
This was a cosmic megashark, captured and sealed by Garon during Yuna's star core refining. In the material world, it measured over ten thousand meters and was a demigod beast.
Garon transmitted the details of this Time Amber into Callie's mind and then sent the Time Amber toward the black dragon.
Callie's eyes lit up, and drool poured from its mouth like a waterfall. It accepted the Time Amber and nodded vigorously like a pecking chicken. "Your Grace, Dragon God, I want this reward."
"You are truly kind, giving me such a large meal."
The silver dragon smiled gently. "Callie, if you are willing to join the Dragon Court and become one of its members, there will be more and even tastier food for you in the future."
This aberrant, plump black dragon had considerable potential. Though a bit dim-witted, Garon preferred subordinates who weren't overly clever or self-serving. Thus, he intended to recruit it into the Dragon Court.
Given Callie's nature, it wouldn't typically join an organization like the Dragon Court on its own.
"Additionally, for every wild god you defeat, I will personally reward you."
The one thing this large black dragon couldn't resist was the temptation of food.
Upon hearing Garon's words, the black dragon showed clear signs of interest.
However, it didn't immediately agree and instead asked about the obligations it would bear by joining the Dragon Court.
After learning that the Dragon Court was a loosely managed high-level organization for dragons with minimal restrictions on its members, combined with the influence of the Dragon God's aura, Callie finally agreed after some contemplation. "I am willing to join the Dragon Court."
Garon's thoughts moved, and the semi-illusory Dragon Court Pact took shape.
The black dragon plucked a scale, inscribed its true name, and cast it into the Dragon Court Pact, officially becoming a member of the Dragon Court.
"Should I establish a sub-organization within the Dragon Court specifically for aberrant dragons…"
Garon pondered the idea internally.
He quickly dismissed it.
Though numerous aberrant dragons existed, most mutated negatively. Very few evolved positively and grew to significant power.
In the meantime, under Callie's adoring gaze, the majestic form of the silver dragon gradually faded from the sky.
Hero's Domain, Dragon Court, Hall of Eternal Spirits.
After retracting his avatar, Garon ceased paying further attention to the aberrant black dragon.
In his platinum dragon eyes, countless streams of information from various material worlds danced and flickered.
In a brief span of seconds, Garon's perception and selection locked onto a formidable wild god who had already obliterated two material worlds.
One of the material worlds, the Feodor world.
Here, the sky was shrouded in oppressive clouds, thick and heavy, gathered like a dense mass, seemingly ready to descend at any moment.
Rumbling sounds echoed.
Amidst the oppressive clouds, thunder rolled, and countless arcs of electricity leaped and danced within, the sound akin to roaring lions and howling tigers echoing endlessly.
From the ground below, one could faintly discern a vast, serpentine creature amidst the stormy sky.
Even in the material world, it measured over ten thousand meters in length but had a diameter of barely a few dozen meters, appearing long and slender, resembling a thin, winding line against the backdrop of stormy clouds.
This was Ilshi, the Thunder Serpent, a primordial wild god of mid-tier godlike power.
Despite its name, the Thunder Serpent's head resembled a wolf's, with a mouth full of interlocking fangs and a single, radiant, spiral horn at its forehead.
Simultaneously, countless arcs of lightning flickered across its sky-blue scales, crackling and flashing, making the surrounding space feel scorched.
Among mid-tier godlike beings, this wild god was exceptionally formidable.
A mid-tier god had fallen to Ilshi
's thunder, and two material worlds had been destroyed.
The Thunder Serpent slithered its massive, serpentine body through the heavens.
As it moved, thunder rumbled and rolled.
Bolts of lightning as thick as trees erupted, creating a vast and terrifying storm of lightning that engulfed large areas, wreaking havoc and mercilessly obliterating all life within.
In this material world, some demi-god-level beings refused to await their doom but dared not face the fearsome wild god directly. Those with the courage to fight had already been easily slain by the Thunder Serpent. Due to the overwhelming disparity in power, the remaining demi-god beings had lost their will to fight.
Demi-god beings typically possessed the ability to traverse between different material worlds.
Lacking the resolve to fight, these demi-gods began to flee.
They used various means to open planar gates, hoping to escape the ravaged material world.
But before they could escape, the Thunder Serpent's wolfish eyes gleamed with cold indifference, focusing on the fleeing demi-gods of the material world.
At the same time, the scales on the Thunder Serpent's body glowed with dazzling lightning.
Zap!
Countless bolts of lightning, like writhing silver serpents, struck with incomprehensible speed, targeting the fleeing demi-gods. The time from the lightning's emergence on the serpent's body to hitting the targets was but an instant.
Charred bodies rained from the sky, crashing into the fissured, devastated earth below.
After dispatching the targets, the Thunder Serpent continued to ride the roiling clouds and thunderstorm, unleashing endless lightning across the material world, wreaking havoc and spreading death and despair without restraint.
Suddenly, the Thunder Serpent's cold eyes turned serious.
Buzz!
The normally serene flow of the time stream began to ripple slightly, causing subtle changes in the surrounding space.
The oppressive, swirling clouds and the lightning flickering within began to behave strangely, some parts freezing in place like a painting, others accelerating or even reversing in motion.
Seeing this, the Thunder Serpent bristled, its scales vibrating slightly.
"Garon Aurelian…"
The Thunder Serpent, wary, stared at the most unusual part of the phenomena, whispering as it hissed, its tongue flickering.
At that moment, under the Thunder Serpent's watchful gaze, a sleek and majestic silver dragon leaped from the intangible stream of time, its wings outstretched, gleaming with silver light, like a rising silver moon, dominating the sky.
Without a word, as soon as his true form descended into the material world, Garon activated his giant god form, expanding to over 5,000 meters from head to tail, a behemoth resembling an immense mountain range.
On the other side, although the Thunder Serpent's body length exceeded ten thousand meters, more precisely around sixteen thousand meters, its slender form made it appear less imposing compared to the now gargantuan Garon.
Not just in appearance, but in actuality as well.
The Thunder Serpent was long but not bulky, appearing thin like a line.
A mere long, thin serpent couldn't compare to the mighty dragon.
"Transcendent divine power, unite with me."
The silver dragon's wings spread wide, casting a massive shadow.
A divine glow descended from the heavens, carrying a silhouette matching the silver dragon, glowing with divine radiance, and crashed into Garon like a falling star.
In the next instant, the two merged into one.
Boom!
A dazzling divine light enveloped Garon's silver-gray scales, quickly merging into them, becoming a faint, subtle glow.
With the battle between the Dragon God and the primordial wild gods intensifying across the material worlds, Garon fought in his full form to quickly dispatch enemy wild gods, aiming for swift victories to shift the balance against the lesser and mid-tier gods.
Simultaneously, the already overwhelming dragon's might intensified, nearly solidifying the surrounding space.
"Such a powerful presence."
"Eternal and Time Dragon Garon Aurelian… Yahen fell to his might."
Facing Garon, the Thunder Serpent's eyes narrowed, its breath catching.
Fear and caution filled its gaze.
The wild gods communicated and exchanged intelligence.
Moreover, Garon had always been a prime target for the primordial wild gods.
During Garon's slumber, news of him defeating the mid-tier Yellow Sand Lord, Akalun, and the greater deity, the primordial Sun God Yahen, had spread far and wide.
While Akalun was not particularly formidable among mid-tier wild gods and was slightly weaker than the Thunder Serpent, the primordial Sun God was a different matter, being a notable force among greater deities.
The Thunder Serpent's eyes flickered, watching Garon intently.
At this moment, the intangible power of time, following Garon's will, extended outward, attaching to the planar barriers, forming a pattern resembling dragon scales, creating a temporal blockade to prevent any teleportation.
But before the temporal blockade could solidify, the Thunder Serpent, having no desire to fight Garon, activated the azure lightning from its horn, releasing countless arcs that converged into a radiant ring of lightning, branding it onto the planar barrier.
Typically, Garon's temporal blockade would form stealthily during combat, becoming unbreakable once the enemy realized it. However, this time, the Thunder Serpent, intending to avoid conflict from the start, successfully enacted planar teleportation before the blockade could take effect.
"Garon Aurelian, I have no interest in you now. Consider yourself lucky, fortunate that you won't be consumed and destroyed by thunder today."
Though clearly wary, the Thunder Serpent hissed defiantly before diving into the ring, its long, thin body writhing through it.
