Reality Quest: Lookism

Chapter 16: Chapter 15: Stalking

Jin's sharp black eyes locked onto the girl standing at the school's entrance. Her athletic build was highlighted by her casual yet striking outfit, a light gray zip-up hoodie left open to reveal a black crop top underneath, paired with high-waisted black shorts that showed off her toned legs. Her white sneakers, clean and sleek, completed the look, giving her a sporty and confident vibe.

Around them, murmurs rippled through the students loitering at the entrance.

"Who's that girl?"

"She's so pretty."

"Wait… is she looking at Jin?"

"How did a skinny guy like him get her attention?"

Jin ignored the chatter, his gaze steady as he walked toward her. She met his eyes, her arms crossed over her chest, radiating a cold aura.

"If you're looking for Dowan." Jin started, his voice calm, "he hasn't been at school for the past two or three days."

Siyeon tilted her head slightly, her piercing eyes never leaving his. "I know." she replied, her tone flat. "I've been coming here for the past three days... not finding you either."

Jin raised a brow at her words, piecing things together. 'Huh, she wasn't supposed to act like this in the canon.' he thought. 'Guess my presence here changed more than I realized.'

"I went training." Jin said nonchalantly, slipping his left hand into his pocket. "Just got back last night. So, yeah, it makes sense you didn't find me."

Siyeon gave him a curt nod, her expression unreadable. Jin shrugged and turned to leave.

He had barely taken two steps when she called out, "Wait."

Without even turning back, Jin said, "No."

Siyeon blinked, momentarily caught off guard. "What do you mean?" she asked, her tone laced with confusion.

Jin stopped and turned around, his gaze direct. "Whatever you've got in mind, I'm not doing it. I owe you nothing."

She stayed silent, her lips pressing into a thin line as she mulled over his words. Jin turned away again, ready to leave, but her voice cut through the air like a blade.

"One million won."

Jin froze mid-step. Slowly, he turned back to face her, a grin spreading across his face that could only be described as freaky. "I'll gladly help you, madame." he said, his voice almost theatrical.

Siyeon raised a brow, slightly taken aback by his sudden change in demeanor. "But before anything…" Jin continued, holding out his hand expectantly, palms up. "The money."

She sighed, a hint of frustration flashing across her face. 'Why isn't my charm working on him?' she wondered.

Without a word, she reached into the pocket of her shorts and pulled out a neatly stacked bundle of cash. Jin's grin widened as she handed it to him. He snatched it eagerly, counting each note with practiced speed.

Once satisfied, he tucked the money into his bag and turned back to her with a businesslike smile. "It's a pleasure doing business with you." he said, his tone dripping with professionalism.

Siyeon stared at him, her cold demeanor cracking slightly as a flicker of amusement and disbelief crossed her face. "What am I even dealing with here?" she muttered under her breath.

....

Jin leaned against the wall outside Dowan's apartment building, arms crossed and a smug grin on his face. Siyeon stood next to him, her arms folded and her gaze sharp as ever. He turned his head slightly, glancing at her with a raised brow.

"So, why are you stalking that kid?" he asked, his tone laced with amusement.

Siyeon's brow twitched, a small tick mark appearing on her temple. "I'm not stalking anyone." she replied coolly.

Jin chuckled, clearly not convinced. "Sure, sure. Totally normal behavior to hunt him down at home."

Siyeon's glare intensified, but Jin laughed it off, casually strolling toward the building's entrance. She followed, her heels clicking against the pavement as she muttered under her breath.

The two entered the elevator, the silence thick between them. Jin leaned against the railing, watching the floor numbers tick up. "You know." he started, glancing at her, "you're kinda weird."

Another tick mark appeared on her temple, but she said nothing. Jin smirked, knowing he'd struck a nerve.

The elevator dinged, and they stepped out onto Dowan's floor. Jin shoved his left hand into his pocket and used his other hand to lazily press the doorbell. They could already hear Dowan's cheerful voice from inside.

"Yes~ Coming~!"

The door swung open, and there stood Dowan, his face glowing with his usual cheerful demeanor, holding the bank card in his hand.

His eyes immediately widened in shock as he saw Siyeon and Jin standing there. Siyeon's stern expression was a stark contrast to Jin, who was casually picking his nose with his free hand.

Dowan pointed at them, his voice trembling. "Y-you… W-why are you here?!"

Siyeon tilted her head, her cold gaze locking onto Dowan. "You said you'd grant one of my wishes, right?"

Dowan froze, clutching the chocolate bar tightly. Jin, meanwhile, strolled past him into the apartment, clearly unbothered.

As the door closed behind them, Jin lazily looked around the apartment. He spotted a glowing quest window hovering in front of Dowan.

[Quest: Prove Yourself!

Objective: Be a better man, satisfy the lady, and win against the freaky businessman.]

Jin's eyes narrowed, and he rubbed his chin thoughtfully. 'Businessman, huh?' he thought to himself before smirking. 'I mean… with a million won in my pocket, they're not wrong.'

Dowan, still panicked, backed away slightly. 'W-what do you mean, satisfy the lady?! What's going on?!'

Siyeon didn't answer immediately, instead stepping closer to Dowan with her usual commanding presence. "Take off your shirt." she ordered bluntly.

Dowan's face turned pale, and he stammered, "W-why?!"

Jin, sitting comfortably on the couch now, grinned evilly. "Oh, come on, Dowan. Isn't it obvious? We're kidnapping you and selling your organs!"

Dowan's body trembled as his eyes darted between Jin and Siyeon. He looked like he was about to activate a skill when Jin burst out laughing. "Relax, kid. I'm just kidding."

Dowan let out a shaky sigh, but his relief was short-lived as Siyeon stared at him, unamused. "Turn the heater off." she said, her voice sharp. "It's too hot in here."

Before Dowan could respond, Jin got up, scratching the back of his head. "I'm gonna take a piss." he announced nonchalantly, walking toward the bathroom.

Dowan's confusion deepened as he turned to Siyeon. "Why are you even here? How do you know my home address?!"

Siyeon walked over to a nearby cabinet, opening it to inspect its contents. Without turning back, she answered, "I checked your phone. The card behind it had your address written on it."

Dowan stood frozen, his jaw slack. "Y-you checked my phone?!"

Jin's laughter echoed from the bathroom. "Man, you've got no privacy."
