Chapter 288: [Betrayal?!]
Adam's eyes kept staring at the space that almost fixed. There were a bunch of cracks here and there, and even those should be fixed within a few seconds.
Meanwhile, a war, an entirely different one than that was played before, was taking place around Adam as the Gods and Demons came together trying to protect the guy that was doing his everything to save them.
Essentially it was at a stalemate with both the parties barely able to shift the power level, but as time passed and Laplace gaining back his energy second by second, the tide was once again slowly shifting towards the Titans.
The good news was that the world will be saved and they did not need to worry about everything ending. But the bad news was the enemy was regaining his power at a rapid speed, and given his temperament, there was surely going to be a huge massacre soon.
At the very least, many of the Higher Gods and Angels will die today.
Even still… not a single person moved from his spot, ready to give their all to protect the person who was going to save them.
Though, even then, there were a few who thought differently about this situation.
A certain figure doned in black, ran through the masses, reaching towards Adam as greed was written all over his face.
Finding the blindspots of the goddesses and the people who were protecting them, he reached Adam, his hand about to touch Adam's chest.
"Huh?" Equi was the first one to notice.
"What the?!!" Hecate follwed as he saw the face of a familiar person reaching out to Adam, his intentions looking anything but good.
He was the Heavenly Guardian, the Twin brother of the All-Father. And currently, he was about to kill Adam, right in the middle of the War.
"Mirvin!!!!" The All-Father shouted in fury as he saw what his brother was about to do, but it was too late as they all saw Mirvin, the Heaven's Guardian, greedily reaching out to Adam.
-BAM!
And moments before he could touch Adam, a certain woman appeared in between, kicking the Heavenly Guardian away from Adam.
"You were right. It is indeed better this way," spoke the short black haired woman, as her red eyes traced the path where the Heavenly Guardian was kicked away to.
"MIRVIN! HOW DARE YOU BETRAY US??!!!"
The All-Father lost his cool as he saw his own brother taking the side of the demons. Though Mirvin, simply wiped the blood off his face as he spoke,
"It's not betrayal brother. Didn't I tell you before? The reason I joined the war was because of the Heaven's Wheel. And now that I have it in front of me, how can I let it go? Don't worry though. Once I have it, I will make sure to save the world too. Even Laplace won't be a problem for us then."
Mirvin, the Heaven's Guardian, had a nasty greedy look on his face. As if he found the most important treasure of his life, he proceeded towards Adam once again, this time without hiding any bit of his power, showing them even.
Running through the Gods, demons and Angels, like a slippery eel, he was once again able to reach Adam before the same woman stood in between, particularly amused at the face that Mirvin was making.
"Woman. Step away if you don't want to lose life," he warned that woman, before she cackled a bit. And then unable to control her laughter, she laughed out loud.
Her eyes, seemingly enjoying this play, soon turned cold as she spoke,
"Seems like you still don't understand your situation, Mirvin."
And then she released a pressure far above those of the likes of Gods and such. She observed this Heaven's Guardian with a disgusted look as he went down on his knees.
"Who… are you?" Mirvin asked, still confused about this unknown entity in front of him. And knowing that half of the Gods have guessed her identity already, she simply revealed her aura as well.
"YOU! How can you be here?! It's impossible!!!" It was then that Mirvin realised who she was.
"For what you have done to my kin in the ages of the past, Mirvin. I, Primula, the Vampire Queen, have come to take you with me," she then declared observing the scared shitless look on his face.
A strange silence covered the entire area for a few seconds. Nobody knew what to do. Normally the Hell's Guardian should be an entity to be feared. But currently she was protecting their saviour, and from the way they were stood against each other, it seemed that Adam knew her somehow.
Primula observed the entire area as a slight smirk formed on her face. And then she continued speaking,
"Ursula. Open the gate."
And then, another gate opened in front of all these people. Inside of it, stood another inspector, an elder Vampire that has lived thousands for thousands of years.
"LAPLACE! YOU BASTARD!!!"
An enraged voice came as the navy blue haired kid, Zero, the 6th Fate Weaver, came back running to the battlefield as he looked at Laplace with pure fury in them.
His eyes were glowing as he had used a huge amount of power to reach here, and he was ready to use even more just to get a hit back at Laplace.
This scene reminded the Gods and the Angels about the circulating prophecy. The one that the Seer saw in her vision.
A Heaven's wheel in the sky far above and a blue haired kid that was stronger than the gods. A Hell's Guardian with two inspectors, and the bleeding Heaven's Guardian on his knees.
The only difference was that there was Laplace instead of his son, but that was just the Seer's error since they all presumed Laplace to be dead and his son looked quite similar to him.
And lastly, Adam, simply smiling in the midst of the battlefield, observing everything since he was finally done with fixing the crack in the sky.
As for the man in red silhouette protecting Raphi, it was Harik, her husband, who was giving his all to protect her from everything that was coming in that direction.
But even though similar, this divination was way more different than what the Gods had anticipated.
"As per our deal, I will be taking him with me," Vampire Queen spoke as she waved her hand throwing Mirvin into the gate, while his simply flew inside, his fate sealed then and there. After that, she took one last look at Laplace.
"My presence here itself is a huge risk. Apologies, but I don't think I can commit any more Taboo than this," she spoke as she looked at Adam who simply smiled and answered,
"It's all right. You already have done enough. Any more would be asking too much."
She nodded before saying," I don't know how you are going to get out alive of this, but given it's you, you must have some sort of plan. Good luck, Fate Weaver."
Primula, the Vampire Queen, then slowly went into the Gate before it closed and vanished from people's sight.
And then, Laplace, who had his powers completely restored, spoke with calm voice,
"Tell me your name, 10th. At the very least, I should remember the one that completely destroyed my plan that I had been working on for more than a millennia."
"Adam. Adam Wesker," Adam answered.
"I shall remember it. Now…tell me Adam Wesker… how would you like to die?" Laplace spoke as he took the first step towards Adam.
