Chapter 341: New Angles
Connected to the knight, before Martha could deliver the fatal punch, my lips left Valera's and my head snapped toward the fighting duo.
I watched as her fist flew forward a second time, hitting the dead warrior on the right side of its chest—right where a hole had already been made in its armour courtesy of her earlier punch.
Martha's hand drove through the abomination's chest, coming out the back. It was this scene that Valera and Nadia, who had not been focused on the battle, turned to see.
Everyone's heart got caught in a grip. The only thing holding back Martha had been taken down. Then, narrowing her eyes, Martha pulled her hand out of its chest and, with a slap from the back of her hand, sent it flying away.
The aggrieved—or perhaps jealous—mother turned her eyes to me, particularly to me and Valera.
Martha's large chest rose and fell heavily. Whether it was from her recent exertion or her desire to control her anger, I did not know. But when her eyes fell on us, watching as my right arm kneaded her daughter's right ass cheek, there was a second explosion from Martha.
Another faint dome of energy rose from the woman—this one noticeably stronger than the previous and very clearly to everyone, Martha increased her size.
The woman's already tight dress got even tighter, her body growing about three more inches taller, her hips widening, and her bust swelling.
It was an erotic and intimidating sight.
Focused on more than just how big Martha's ass was getting, I spotted lines of light lighting up underneath Martha's clothes, peeking out from her dress's neckline.
Letting out a heavy breath, what looked like steam coming out of it, the woman's dress hugged her body so tightly that anyone would know it was at its limit.
"Valera, step away from him."
"No!!"
"....."
I wanted to say some words, but the immediate reply made me keep quiet—and I think even Martha was stunned, as there was a delay before her next words.
"Valera, don't make me repeat myself," Martha gritted.
Swallowing at the edge in her mother's tone, Valera looked at me and then she smiled, a peace unquestionable claiming her face.
"I believe him, Mom."
I might look like a man just starting to have a taste of what life might be about, but I had not just the mind of a fifty-year-old man but also the soul and at the moment, these two things were very much touched.
Many might say that Valera was just being naïve considering Martha was her mother, but to me, all I saw was purity.
There was no indication to the normal eyes when Martha left her position. For such a powerful woman, mind vision would only alert me to her movement seconds after she had performed it, leaving me only barely able to put up a defence.
Not minding her daughter's safety or perhaps trusting in her strength, Martha's image appeared by my side, her fists raised. But when she sped forward, it met with mine.
"Full counter."
My ability to meet Martha in a clash while being in such a relaxed position stemmed from me tanking the woman's first blow.
With the high amount of energy I had absorbed from the woman, and with me using Full Counter, the force I was releasing from my fist at that moment was five times what Martha had delivered to me.
Against Mia's son, Frank, I had dished back to him three times the power inflicted on me. But for Martha, I went to the extreme—five times.
Sure, Martha seemed to have increased her strength twice since she first attacked me, but considering her attack was first refined and strengthened by me before being dished back, I expected to send her stumbling backwards.
But right on the spot, before my eyes while pushed back at first, the woman adjusted her strength, matching it right up to mine.
Boom!!
The clash ended in a draw, Martha calmly standing and facing me and Valera.
"I should've gone all out," I berated myself, trying to think of how to stall time.
Bam!!
Boom!!
At this point, Martha had become just as tall or even taller, than me but it wasn't me that made a move.
Before any action could be taken the shadow before us was deleted and Valera, who had just punched her mother for the second time today, ran after her.
"Talk about conviction," I told myself, rubbing my chin as Valera caught up with her mother and letting out a scream, began exchanging punches with her.
"Mother and daughter shouldn't fight, don't you agree?" I turned and walked to the side, squatting beside Nadia who had fallen to the ground, sitting on her butt and was rapidly breathing—looking like she was having a panic attack.
"Are you with Denise for the pleasure of being at the top—or for the pleasure you will attain when you reach the top?"
Nadia turned to me, my words having broken her out of the nightmare she was having.
Her lips, which were initially pressed tight, relaxed. Giving my words some thought, she answered.
"I don't have a grudge with anyone. I want to reach the peak and bring a smile to those I care about."
There was ground-shaking chaos some distance away from us, but the atmosphere between Nadia and me was one of peace.
"Am I part of those people you care about?" I asked.
"Do you want to be?"
"I've been trying to get in your pants since the day I met you. What do you think?"
[Ding!! Nadia's Fear for You has reached 100]
[Ding!! Nadia's Horniness for You has reached 100 Points]
[Ding!! Nadia's Loyalty to You has reached 100]
"That isn't enough to show commitment," Nadia stated.
[Ding! You have purchased a Baby Pill, Body Pill for 20,000 PSDP]
[Ding!! You have purchased a Body Pill, Mental Pill for 50,000 PSDP]
"Here. They're anxiety pills. They'll help calm your mind."
Like I had just taken them out of my pocket, I dropped two plain white pills in Nadia's hand and then stood up.
Not minding as she swallowed them, I focused on my fallen knight, who pushed off the ground.
The fallen knight was an undead, even if its head was taken off, it would still function and that is why Martha had injected it with her ichor.
Albeit slow, my Psion had finally purified the towering being. After an armor of yellow flickered on its body, it joined the fray.
Energy poisoning is beginning to rear its head as a major issue.
Martha had begun smacking some sense into her ridiculously powerful daughter—and she could definitely do with the help.
Behind me, Nadia stood to her feet, relief on her face—her anxiety gone.
