Purer in what way? Stronger? Rael asked.

Rael rolled his eyes and nodded before inspecting the temporary skills he had received.

Dragon's Breath (Ancient)

—Conjure a flame within your lungs and spew it toward your foes, dealing 150,000,000 Dragon-Fire Damage in a wide arc. Can be charged to increase range and damage.

Dragon's Roar (Ancient)

—Let out a thunderous roar infused with Dragon Force, disrupting all enemies within 100 meters. Silences all foes and interrupts skill/spell casting. Enemies that have less than 50% of the user's Willpower are stunned for 3 seconds.

Cost: 15 Dragon Force

Dragon's Fear (Exalted)

—Unleash your draconic presence, forcing enemies within 100 meters to undergo a Willpower check. Those with less than 20% of the user's Willpower will suffer:

They're strong... really strong, Rael thought with gleaming eyes as he focused on the wings on his back.

They were a bit difficult to control, but with a few flaps, he got the hang of them as he flew up into the air.

Still, a few moments later, he simply flapped his draconic wings back and forth like an excited teenager.

But his idiotic roleplay ended when a pop-up appeared.

But once he finally couldn't take it anymore, Rael opened his mouth.

Not even a second later, it made contact as it scorched Mercurius's dragon shell, causing the blue color to fade and be replaced by charred black.

And of course, the damage came soon after.

Burger's words were cut short as Mercurius spewed a fiery breath that was nearly 10 times the size of Rael's.

Uh oh.

Rael's brow furrowed as he quickly activated the second skill he had received.

His mouth opened by itself, and in the very next moment, a strange echo rang out.

It wasn't a scream, nor was it the roar he was expecting. It was more like a sound wave that only affected those on a certain frequency.

But he didn't get into the specifics as he soon activated another skill, ensuring he had a chance to not be instantly killed.

Still, he charged the breath to its limit while summoning his Violin Blade and gripping it tightly.

When he felt like he had charged the breath enough and he couldn't go further, he opened his mouth.

The white flame shot out, and it was on par with the one Mercurius spewed out.

But to make sure this really hit the mark, Rael planned to intercept the inevitable.

Mercurius opened his mouth, and the same Dragon's Roar that Rael had performed rang out.

However, it was much, much stronger than his.

His white flame began to fade, and that was when he finally used his Violin Blade.

He began dragging the rapier across the Violet String, making it play a beautiful melody as notes of all shapes, colors, and sizes flew out in front of his white flame.

The notes formed a barrier that intercepted the Dragon's Roar and fueled the white flame's momentum.

Through a small gap in the flame, Rael saw Mercurius's expression, which was one of both awe and fear.

Mercurius flapped his wings, attempting to dissipate the fire, but no matter what he did, the notes blocked all such attempts.

That was when Mercurius halted and brought his wings in front of him, doing his best to cushion the attack.

But even so, Rael's notes burned a hole through Mercurius's giant wings as the white fire flew forward, and then... it finally hit.

But as the moments passed and his anxiety grew, he heard a ding.

And once he glanced to the side, he exhaled a relieved breath.
