Re-Awakening: I Became a Pay To Win Boss Monster

Chapter 177: The New Chieftain

"Missy..." Rael trailed off with a sigh. "I'm afraid that no matter what kind of bullshit explanation you give, it won't change the fact that your father just tried to fucking kill my wife."

Nyzzara flinched as she brought her gaze down. "He always takes things too far... even when we were little. He's strong, but he doesn't understand personal attachment. He thinks that those who have deep emotional connections have a greater chance of achieving a large breakthrough if they lose their loved ones."

"So he wants to break people just to see if they become stronger?" Rael asked, furrowing his brows. "Is that it then?"

She stared at him for a few moments before continuing. "I should've stopped him. I tried to believe he'd change this time... but I was wrong. If you still choose to help us, even after this, I'll owe you more than just gratitude."

Rael scoffed and opened the premium shop.

• Water Filtering Cup (Common): 5,000 Trell

He bought a few hundred of them, and since he bought in bulk, all the filters were stored in a magic box, which he simply tossed outside his window, right in front of Nyzzara's feet.

"I'm only going to give you these so the children have something to drink. Use these cups sparingly," Rael said, turning to the wheel. "I was planning on helping you with cattle. I was even going to revitalize your soil. However, your father's stunt zapped away all the graciousness I felt a few hours ago."

With those words, Rael rolled up the window and waved at Nyzzara, ready to leave.

He began slowly reversing, whistling to himself in the meantime.

Yet just as he was about to drive off, Zafira tugged at his sleeve.

He turned toward her and noticed she had a shocked look on her face.

At the same time, she was pointing straight ahead—right where he had just left Nyzzara and her father.

"Look..." Zafira muttered.

Rael tilted his head, puzzled, and then turned toward where Zafira had been pointing.

And the moment his eyes landed on the sight ahead, he froze.

Nyzzara was kneeling on the ground and holding a twin pair of axes. However, the most important part was the fact that her father's head was rolling on the ground as blood spurted everywhere.

Yet as she slowly turned toward him, Rael noticed a red mark appear on her forehead, signifying the birth of a new chieftain.

"I-I did it..." Nyzzara said, dazed.

She looked at her bloodied axes, then at her father's head.

Tears began streaming down her cheeks, but they were soon replaced by a resolute expression as she stood up and once again approached Rael.

"Please." Nyzzara bowed. "Please help us."

As much as this might've been a symbolic moment for any other person, for Rael, it was just plain creepy.

She had killed her father just to ask for help.

It was commendable, but it was also something he had no idea how to deal with.

Therefore, Rael simply turned to Zafira, who had been standing beside him all this time.

She noticed his gaze and sighed.

"Chieftain Nyzzara. Do you understand the gravity of the situation?" Zafira asked plainly. "You've just publicly killed your chieftain. Your tribesmen saw it, we saw it. You didn't beat him in an official duel, so you're likely going to be exiled."

That was how their rules worked, especially regarding the chieftain position.

Once a year, the strongest barbarian challenger rises up and attempts to defeat the chieftain.

In this case, no such thing happened.

This is turning out to be one big ass headache, Rael thought, taking one more glance toward the head on the ground. He's really dead...

"I did what I had to do. I may be exiled or put to work, but I'm doing so with my dignity intact," Nyzzara stated. "The source of your grievances is gone. So once again, please—"

"Your begging does not befit a chieftain," Zafira cut her off before turning to Rael. "How fast could you fix their soil and give them the promised cattle?"

Rael tilted his head. "Like two minutes?"

"T-Two minutes!?" Nyzzara sprang up, but upon receiving their disapproving gazes, she shut up.

"Fulfill your end of the deal, Rael, and let's get out of here before all of Ogarak is after us," Zafira stated, causing his eyes to widen.

"Are you sure you want me to help them? Her father tried to kill you," Rael asked.

Zafira merely shook her head. "And he failed, all thanks to you. Now he's dead, and because of that, we have two choices."

She raised a single finger. "Choice number 1: We walk away. But once Nyzzara gets punished, her people will blame Celestara for what happened. They'll think we had a hand in killing their chieftain. After that, they will definitely merge with Aztera and attack us as an act of revenge."

Of course... Rael sighed. "And the second option?"

Zafira raised a second finger. "Choice number 2: We give them something, show a positive impression. And after that, we leave peacefully."

"That's it, huh?" Rael muttered. "So a show of faith is going to give us at least partial immunity, is that right?"

Zafira slowly nodded. "It's not a guarantee, but it's a better alternative... though the choice is all yours. After all, you're the only one who can make this happen."

Not much of a choice there. Rael rolled his eyes and opened the premium shop before selecting a few things in particular.

Category: Agriculture/Beast Handling

•—Balance: 1,470,872,583 Trell—•

• Soil Revitalizer Drone (Advanced): 250,000 Trell

• Bio-Cattle Pack (x100): 1,500,000 Trell

• Instant Field Enclosure: 600,000 Trell

The first was a drone that flew slightly above the ground and magically revitalized the soil. As for the second, it was a modified cattle package that had all sorts of different animals they could breed.

And of course, the field enclosure, which would eliminate the need for them to set up any enclosures for farmland or livestock since the item would do it automatically.

So with a few presses, Rael bought 4 drones, a single bio-cattle package, and two field enclosures.

With that, he had gotten 3 miniature boxes, which he swiftly placed on the ground below him.

"This is everything you'll need. Each item has a description and a manual," Rael explained before walking back to his car and flashing her one last glance.

"I recommend you try to use these items to maintain your position. Otherwise, you might be fucked."

With that, they were done here as Zafira entered the car, and Rael didn't waste a moment before speeding off.

He had a lot of thoughts on his mind, but aside from that...

It was about time they went back to Celestara.
