Raising magical girls, and leave them with eternal regret?!

Chapter 112 - What to do next?

……

“Th-this is way too twisted…”

Staring into Liu Meng’s resolute eyes, YouYu couldn’t help but murmur.

Even though he’d mentally prepared himself, he never expected Liu Meng to say something like this.

To help him regain his memories, she planned to act as WuYue from his past, interact with him, and then use the details from his recollections to perfect her role as WuYue…

A textbook case of emotional substitution! But that wasn’t what bothered him. It was Liu Meng’s unwavering attitude as she spoke—clearly, she’d made up her mind.

Because that meant she genuinely intended to go through with it!

“…Sure, it sounds like a decent strategy, but if things develop the way she envisions, it could lead to an even bigger mess down the line…”

After calming himself and thinking it over, YouYu reached a conclusion.

Following Liu Meng’s plan might indeed harvest a significant amount of negative emotions, and perhaps even strengthen their bond?

But the risks were enormous.

Eventually, he would have to let Liu Meng interact with WuYue and Bai Yu.

Bai Yu was manageable, but if WuYue ever found out about Liu Meng’s scheme, things would get extremely complicated between them.

Historically, this kind of ploy never ended well—YouYu knew that all too clearly.

At best, it would lead to heated arguments; at worst… fists would do the talking.

Moreover, what if Liu Meng inadvertently started “enjoying” this fabricated relationship? The chances might be slim, but not impossible!

And what if… her true motive was to pursue that very kind of “relationship”?

The mere thought sent a shiver down YouYu’s spine.

“Exactly, YouYu, you shouldn’t go along with this!”

Mamba suddenly burst out from within him, its voice urgent.

“This Liu Meng isn’t like WuYue… If her feelings toward you shift, she could become even more dangerous than WuYue!”

“Forget locking you up… she might resort to far worse measures!”

“So, YouYu, you’d better not agree to her plan!”

“No—you absolutely must not!”

“Got it?! YouYu!”

“Uh… yeah, yeah, I get it…”

After quickly pacifying Mamba, YouYu let out a deep sigh and turned his gaze back to Liu Meng.

Though Mamba’s concerns about Liu Meng’s potential “methods” didn’t really affect him now…

Considering all factors—Liu Meng, WuYue, and even Mamba…

It was best not to complicate things any further.

“Let’s not make this more tangled than it already is.”

With that thought, YouYu spoke bluntly:

“Sorry, Liu Meng, I can’t accept your plan.”

“…Huh?”

Watching Liu Meng’s firm expression crumble into confusion, YouYu sighed again and continued:

“Liu Meng, I know you’re doing this for my sake, but… I still can’t agree.”

“You’ve made up your mind, but when the time comes to act as ‘WuYue,’ won’t it hurt you, Liu Meng?”

“Can you really accept that so easily?”

“…”

“I can.”

After a brief silence, Liu Meng answered firmly.

Then she added:

“I’ve said it before, YouYu! I’ve made up my mind to do everything I can to help you!”

“I finally found a way that might help you regain your memories… How could I give up so easily?!”

“I know you’re worried about me, YouYu, but I’m just as worried about you not getting your memories back!”

“I can’t do nothing just because you’re concerned about me!”

“…”

Hearing her words, YouYu thought for a moment, then exhaled slowly, his tone turning cautious:

“Then just take me to them directly, Liu Meng.”

“That way, you won’t have to invest so much of yourself in this, and you wouldn’t be avoiding the fact that playing ‘WuYue’ would hurt you, right?”

“So, facing them head-on is the best choice.”

“…No.”

“Why not?”

YouYu pressed on immediately after hearing her refusal:

“I can control negative emotions now, and with your mana combined with mine, there’s no risk of me losing control.”

“Plus, that golden card is still within me. If anything goes wrong, you can use it to stop me anytime.”

“So why can’t we just do that?”

“…Tch! That’s not the issue! It’s because—”

“Because of what? Can you explain it to me clearly?”

Staring at Liu Meng, whose expression grew increasingly impatient, YouYu gave her no room to deflect.

In situations like this… being firm was the only way to curb potential problems.

“…”

However, after being cut off, Liu Meng didn’t respond for nearly ten minutes.

Judging by her expression… she seemed to be sorting out her feelings.

“Guess we’ll just wait quietly for now.”

Thinking this, YouYu took a sip of water.

Then, he glanced at the server placing dishes on their table.

From past experience, he knew that eating something when upset could open up conversation.

Once the food was served, or at least mostly there, he’d gently remind Liu Meng to eat.

Hopefully, that would help resume their discussion.

“…”

So, as the server brought dish after dish, finally completing the order, YouYu was about to speak to Liu Meng when, thanks to his sharp vision, he caught sight of two familiar figures at the entrance—one dressed in red, the other in blue.

“…”

“Of all times, they show up now…”

With just a glance, YouYu confirmed it.

WuYue and Bai Yu.

And now…

Hearing their approaching footsteps and seeing Liu Meng about to speak, YouYu’s mind raced:

What should he do next?
