Quick Transmigration: Irresistible Beauty

Chapter 316: Blackened Junior Sister (21)

A white light emerged, and there seemed to be a thin line drawn between the two souls of Yue Ran and Hai Bing Tu—a line that linked them together in spirit.

"Hai Bing Tu, you said that my spiritual power contains the breath of the Exalted Sea Sect," Yue Ran said. "What do you mean by that?"

"Ah, about this... The teachings of the Exalted Sea Sect in absorbing the spiritual power of heaven and earth differ from the teachings of the other sects," Hai Bing Tu explained. "We use our own spiritual power to feed the heavens, the earth, and the world itself, and then draw the purified spiritual power from it, something which nature can feed back to us."

"Oh?" Yue Ran blinked with interest.

"Such spiritual power will become purer and purer after continual cycles," Hai Bing Tu stated. "This is also why when our sect members compete with the other sect members, those disciples with the same level of cultivation frequently fall short against the Exalted Sea Sect in a friendly exchange."

"Hmm..." Yue Ran hummed in understanding.

"This is why the members of the Exalted Sea Sect are very much in tune with the spiritual power in and around them, and their spiritual power is also cleaner and clearer than others," Hai Bing Tu said, providing further explanation. "My lord, the spiritual power in your body is also remarkably pure, similar to those from the Exalted Sea Sect. Moreover, the input of your spiritual power permitted you to open those doors, so I made such a conclusion."

"I see," Yue Ran replied.

The young woman feels that this method of cultivation from the Exalted Sea Sect is quite intriguing, and it even sounds rather energy-saving and environmentally friendly as well.

"Then, do you know what kind of disease or curse will render someone to experience excruciating pain when they use their spiritual power?" questioned Yue Ran.

The young woman did not hide her condition. After all, she and Hai Bing Tu are already in a master-servant contract.

If Yue Ran was unhappy and dissatisfied with Hai Bing Tu, she could obliterate most of Hai Bing Tu's cultivation in a blink at any time and at any place as long as she willed it to be so.

"This..." Hai Bing Tu's voice trailed off.

The rabbit demon beast appeared to be lost in thought, and then the look on her face changed when she seemed to have recalled something from the deep recesses of her memory bank. Her expression froze, and her mouth opened slightly, as if she had thought of something horrifying.

"Hm?" Yue Ran lifted a brow at the bizarre reaction Hai Bing Tu displayed. "What is wrong?"

"I... I have heard of a tale before... saying that... if a person violated the rules of heaven, the continuing bloodline of that person would be cursed... and the talents belonging to that person and his or her descendants would have no place to be used," Hai Bing Tu spoke carefully.

Yue Ran could not help but ask, "What does it mean to violate the rules of heaven?"

"I am sorry, my Lord," Hai Bing Tu said apologetically. "I do not know much about it myself," she admitted. "I have only heard a storyteller recount it as entertainment for guests in a certain teahouse that I had visited long back in the past."

Sensing the distress and apology coming from Hai Bing Tu through their connection, Yue Ran knew that Hai Bing Tu was not lying, so she did not bring up the subject again.

It can already be deemed as a sort of gain that at least she was less confused now that she knew some clues regarding the state of her body.

Noticing that no one was paying any attention to him, the little demon beast suddenly smacked the ground in a tantrum. Seeing this, Hai Bing Tu picked the little demon beast up and held him to face Yue Ran.

"This little demon beast is the holy beast of our sect," Hai Bing Tu stated. "The proclaimed holy beast will then be nurtured by the Exalted Sea Sect. The holy beast that is raised will eventually transform into the form of a human after hundreds of years of cultivation and will possess divine power. From then on, the demon beast will become the holy beast of our Exalted Sea Sect."

"Oh?" Yue Ran made a sound.

"The inheritance of the holy beast is not based on ancestry," Hai Bing Tu clarified. "It will only appear on the body of a gifted demon beast."

"Hm?" Yue Ran raised a brow and gestured with her chin to the little demon beast Hai Bing Tu was holding. "You mean this little guy?"

"Yes, my Lord," Hai Bing Tu answered with a nod of confirmation. "The spiritual power in his body is of pure ice element," she explained. "My Lord, if you get in contact with him, you can alleviate the pain that seemingly penetrated deep into your bones when using your spiritual power."

"Really?" Yue Ran asked.

"Yes, my Lord," Hai Bing Tu answered.

After Hai Bing Tu said so, Yue Ran took a moment to think before deciding to accept the little demon beast from Hai Bing Tu and hold it in her arms. The restless little demon beast now appeared very quiet and docile. He seemed to be painfully shy as he leaned his small frame against Yue Ran. His pair of beaded black eyes turned around, and his tiny nose sniffed Yue Ran hard, as if trying to memorize the scent of her body and ingrain it into his little head. His four short legs were much more obedient than his head. They remained still in place, as though they were fearful of injuring her or upsetting her, and thus would make her refuse to hold him any longer.

The bone-eroding pain induced by the prior usage of spiritual power had not entirely dissipated from Yue Ran's body yet.
