Quick Transmigration: Irresistible Beauty

Chapter 277: The Gentle Psychiatrist (47)

Will he, one day, be able to wear a carefully selected collar given by Yue Ran and then be raised by her somewhere where no one knows about it?

After this thought flashed in the young man's head, he instantly felt ashamed of his thoughts, yet at the same time, he was also extremely moved.

On the other hand, Yue Ran pretended to fail to see the pregnant darkness in the young man's eyes as she asked, "Do you still wish to stay here till the next day and keep waiting for me like this?"

Cheng Ying was stunned for a brief period when he heard the young woman's words. If he was able to do so, then he really wished to stay with Yue Ran forever. He did not want to think more about other things or even come into contact with other people. They made him feel sick and disgusted.

Unfortunately, there is no such thing as a free meal in this world. If you want God's mercy, you must be willing to pay a corresponding price for it. This is what Yue Ran taught him from the start. Give and take. Equal exchange.

Given all of this, the young man had already determined what he was going to do, so he simply hesitated for a short while before he resolutely shook his head.

"Tomorrow," Cheng Ying started before he trailed off for a while. "I would like to go back tomorrow." He then looked into Yue Ran's eyes. "Can I be considered to have recovered now?"

"This is a complicated matter, Cheng Ying," Yue Ran said. "You are undoubtedly getting better, but we still have to take things slowly."

The young woman gently stroked his head. She had already invested so much time and put so much thought into the young man that she did not think it would matter if she chose to devote a little more time to preparing for his great growth in the future. Cheng Ying is, after all, the male protagonist, so he would not disappoint her, right?

"Then, can we... can we speed up the process?" Cheng Ying inquired. "I want to get better quickly."

"But this might increase your stress," Yue Ran explained. "Is that really okay?"

The young woman had a look of worry in her eyes, as if she did not intend to undermine the young man's self-confidence, so her tone sounded particularly tactful.

"Yes," Cheng Ying answered in reply. "I will be fine."

The faster he finishes things, the faster he can be with her.

The young man understood very clearly for himself that all of his previous problems were, in fact, the consequences of his attempts to escape from them. Due to the fact that he refused to deal with them head-on, over time, those negative emotions gradually morphed into substantial "special images," which then built up and turned into some kind of gigantic wall that made him feel intimidated.

In the past, Cheng Ying did not concern himself with it. It did not really matter to him that his living space was becoming more and more compressed. And as long as he continued to give in and curl up in a corner where no one cared about him, he was able to lower and relax his sense of existence, and he ultimately became a quiet waste, a trash, just the way everyone else expected him to be.

But now, the young man has found something that he wants to fight for. Ever since he was born, he has never had such a strong impulse, as if he wanted to knock over his past, like wanting to flip over a table in a burst of energy.

He wanted to start over.

He wanted to stay by her side.

He wanted to stay by Yue Ran's side.

...

The next day, Yue Ran took Cheng Ying with her over to meet his parents.

The two middle-aged couples probably did not even see each other for more than a few days in a month, but at this point in time, the two immediately showed a similar kind of image of a perfectly loving father and mother.

Everything was looking particularly harmonious, just like a pair of sweet parents who particularly loved their son.

But everyone there clearly knew that it was fake.

Yue Ran: I am not a psychiatrist for nothing.

When Cheng Ying obediently relayed to them some lines that were directed by Yue Ran, his parents wrapped their arms around him, as if they were just about to dramatically let out a cry. Unfortunately, they had few tears to shed.

Yue Ran: Keep on smiling.

Cheng Ying: So uncomfortable.

Quickly skipping over that part, Yue Ran explained to them some matters related to Cheng Ying, stating that the young man was now able to go back to live with them and that he could continue to complete his studies as a way to promote his recovery.

The two elders were taken aback for a brief moment. It was readily apparent that they had not once considered letting Cheng Ying go back to school. But soon, they put on an embarrassed expression and repeatedly inquired with Yue Ran to get her confirmation as to whether or not Cheng Ying was able to truly go back to complete his studies in school, while secretly hoping that they had simply heard things wrongly and that they could only continue to hold out a hope that their so-called youngest son would stay nonexistent so as not to ruin their moods and reputation if his illness were to recur again.

Yet after receiving Yue Ran's words of affirmation, they could no longer say anything in response. Shortly after thanking the young and promising psychiatrist, the two of them took Cheng Ying with them and left the place in an unknown mood.

The young man followed his parents out in silence and stepped into the dark corridor.

In an instant, they became two worlds apart.
