I wake up to yet another beautiful day. 2 weeks into summer, I've spent my days productively doing nothing. Hanging out in my room, sleeping in until 8 am, ignoring my friends…

I'm just kidding!

I don't have any friends.

I've always been a bit of a loner. I have an outgoing personality, but only around my family. I seize up around other people, and I can't help but look away. When I was in 2nd grade, a couple of kids bullied me. I'm not sure why, or even how they bullied me. I don't think they really had a reason. Back then, I was outgoing and I had lots of friends. I was one of the popular kids. But I guess that group of boys didn't like that.

They chased the other kids away. I became afraid of talking to others, when they all started avoiding me, afraid if they interacted with me they would have to deal with the bullies too.

Even though im in 8th grade now, im still afraid of people. I want to change, I want to talk to people and have fun with them. I want to lead and direct people. I want to be in charge for once!

Every morning I think the same things. And every day, my situation does not improve.

Why? I'm trying my best. But no matter what I do, I just can't escape my past.

I get up and get dressed. I go down the stairs and talk too my mom. I heat up a few waffles, and pet my cats. Looks like dad went in for work today. The sun is really bright. Infact, its blinding. The entire outside is purely white.

I feel my eyes dry, so I blink rapidly. I run to the otherside of the house and put my hand on the window. I try to peer through the white light and see the outside.

Suddenly, the glass breaks. No, it shatters. It caves outward, fragments floating and twirling in midair. The light floods around me, disorienting me as the raw energy overwhelms my senses. And after a moment, my everything.

All around me is more of that same, harsh light. Now encompassing my surroundings, it appears to be interlaced with golden threads, winding around emptiness. My body is translucent. Before I can panic, a violet rectangle composed of small triangles appears before me. It isn't solid in color, but instead, every triangle contributes to a gradient of royale purple and hot magenta. It fades and roils, somehow, its soothing.

“W-what? What does that mean?"

Before me, a selection screen appears. People with weird clothes, surrounded in different color picture frames and stars beneath fill my vision and my mind. Overloaded with information, my mind finally hits the panic button.

---

After nearly an hour of hyperventilating, screaming, sobbing, immense depression, and begging, I finally decided to look at the selection screen. I skip all the low star ones, and go right to the seven stars. None of them really matched what I wanted, so I looked at the six stars. I had a few in mind before I found it.

Class: [Grand paragon]

Specification: Leadership- excell in guidance and manipulation. Your words sway both hearts and battles.

Rank: 6

LV Limit: 200

Class Skills: Super Appraisal - combines every appraisal, can reveal hidden elements

Soul Exploitation - can exert control over every being with a soul

War Conduction - can see & control the flow of battle

Skill gain interval: 11

I think.. This is the one. [leadership] seems like just the kind of thing to help me out of my shell. Appraisal is a classic of any isekai scenario, soul exploitation seems like some kind of taming skill. I assume war conduction will help my team fight. I'll be the brains of the operation directing the brawn, which will be whatever I tame.

With that choice locked in, another screen appears; race selection. I immediately feel dissuaded. It feels like my goals would become meaningless, because I wouldn't really be me anymore. But the system says I need to make a selection. Apparently, the power of a 5 star and above is too much for a human body to handle. Interestingly, the word used is actually 'vessel’ not body, but I doubt it matters. I look for a race that will make me stronger, but wont change me physically. And I do find it.

High human- increases efficiency of stats by 100%, greatly increases the strength of the vessel, and refines the purity of the soul. Unlocks spirit stat.

I select that one, and it has an option to repress any physical alterations, which I do. Now the next part, another screen shows my ‘status’ which represents my ‘existence’ in numerical values.

I don't get all the fancy words. It's just a status, it's super cliche. Literally everyone knows what it does.

The staus shows my new race, and current name and stats. Apparently I get 5 skill points and 20 stat points for free, and now I need to allocate them.

I look at the skill list and honestly.. Magic is just too exciting to pass up! I get the three base skills, then I get [water affinity] and [lightning affinity]. Water so I can drink it and stuff, and lightning because it's cool. Plus, think about the combos I could make with water and lightning!

Really? 5 strength? That's just insulting...

I don't think any of my physical stats matter too much, so I'll put my points into sense, vitality, and intellect. After all, my tames will do all the work for me. I don't really see the point of spirit, so I'll leave it alone for now.

That should be good!

As soon as I mentally accept that I'm done, the status selection closes, and says I will be “dislocated” in 10 seconds.

I've thought about it and.. The only logical explanation is that I'm getting isekaied! Another world of swords and magic! Medieval cities, adventurer guilds, dragons, dungeons, amazing food! I'll probably get sent near a town, or at least some kind of civilisation. I wonder if there's gonna be other races there too? Elves and dwarves. Maybe.. Beast kin?! I wonder if there will be slavery too? Maybe I'm getting summoned as a hero to slay the demon king!

I'm so excited. I can't wait to start my slow life, op fantasy world harem!

May your death be swift and painless.

Wait what?

---

I float in another place. Neither dark nor light, composed of nothing but sky or background, I fall, or float. My body is unwound like a knot. I am pulled apart and stitched into something new. Like a puzzle that has multiple shapes, i am torn apart and remade. Pieced back together, with new pieces showing up out of nowhere. Neither hot or cold, painful or relaxing, uncomfortable or terrifying. I become more.

Suddenly, light floods my vision. This time the light is soft, natural. I open my eyes to the morning sun, slightly smaller and redder. I'm enshrouded in a thick and lively forest. The earth is soft, my foot now sunk a solid inch into the ground. Above me is a small window of raw sky, everything else covered in overgrowth.

With my skills acquired any body remade, the system is much more intuitive. Using [soul exploitation] I can sense all living beings in a large radius. I can even tell how strong they are. I can tell that my skill level is low, so I can't differentiate power differences that much. All the souls of the creature I can sense have different sizes. Each size increase magnifies the soul's quality by an extreme magnitude.

I exert my will towards a pack of souls, all medium sized. I nudge them with my will, and they start coming towards me, though tentatively at first. A few dozen seconds later, and a pack of dark colored wolves erupt from the bushes. They're pretty big, 4-5 feet tall. Each one is either red, yellow, or blue. All dark primary colors.

They bark, and the largest one runs at me. I stretch out my hand and yell “soul exploitation]! In an instant, a wave of dark energy interlaced with white lightning bursts out of me. The energy pulse washes over the attacker and the wolves behind it.

They immediately cower, and bow down towards me. I can feel their souls shackled by chains of my own making. I stretch out my soul sense into the largest area I can, looking for a hyper dense pocket of souls, humans. Unfortunately, I don't find any.

I mount the big wolf and begin running around, hunting down any mobs for xp. If they're stronger than my wolves, I enslave them. If they're weak, they become fodder for my growth. Now, I just need to find humans, and find a way to find humans. Hmm, this might be difficult.
