Primordial Awakening: I Can Evolve My Skills Infinitely

Chapter 116: Fourth Floor, The Jester Trio

The third floor ended up being pretty easy.

It was basically just a tougher copy of the second floor.

Same kind of layout. Same type of enemies, just more of them, and each one a little stronger than before.

Most people would've had a problem dealing with them.

Even some of the other so-called "powerful" races probably would've struggled if thrown in alone.

But Sam didn't. He didn't even need to fight.

Instead, he simply summoned the [Rune Dragon] again.

Just like on the second floor, it handled everything without needing any help. Wiping out the enemies like they were nothing.

There was something strange about the [Rune Dragon] though.

It didn't seem to have any personality. No thoughts of its own. No free will.

Taming a spirit by overwhelming its will and hatred basically made them submit to Sam, and follow all his commands.

Compared to that, the [Forsaken Clone] was... a little different.

It still obeyed every command Sam gave it, but there was something wild about it.

Something twisted. It was more aggressive, more violent.

That was probably because it was on the [Forsaken] path, though, which Sam didn't know what it would do to him if he went with it.

[Chaotic Fate] did say it was the most dangerous path of them all, but the one that granted the most strength.

Still, there was no need to think too much about it.

The third floor was done, and as soon as the enemies were gone, the usual portal appeared at the center of the space, humming softly with light.

Sam walked through it without hesitation.

[You have entered the "Fourth Floor" of the "Rune Tower."]

Ding!

[Fourth Floor: Defeat the "Jester Trio."]

Sam stepped forward and immediately spotted them.

Three figures stood waiting in the middle of the floor, as if they'd been expecting him.

"Jester Trio, huh," Sam muttered, adjusting his grip on the primordial sword in his hand.

His tone stayed flat, eyes locked ahead.

"Won't matter."

He didn't care who they were. Whether they were monsters, humans, or something else entirely.

If they were in his way, he'd eliminate them. That was all there was to it.

[Proceed =)]

"Looks like the Primordial's actually here!" A voice echoed ahead.

Sam's gaze narrowed.

"So it's true, he really came!"

"We just have to stop him, right? Jevil gave us enough of his power... we can take him."

Sam didn't reply. He simply let his crimson aura build slightly as he studied them.

The one on the right was a girl. She wore a jester's hat, purple and green, the same colors as her long, flowing hair.

Her costume looked silly at first glance, bright and chaotic, but the power behind her masked face told another story.

It was far beyond anything Sam had faced so far in this tower.

She wore a white mask with a big, smiling mouth.

---

[Mirla, The Smiling Jester]

[Level: 60]

[Description: One of Jevil's three disciples, they follow his guidance and share some of his power.]

[Hell-Mode Analysis: In our way.]

---

"Seeing him in person is... fascinating," she said, her voice light, delighted.

Her masked eyes glowed faintly with power.

The one on the left was taller, slender, and wore a suit that shimmered between black and silver.

He had a long, flowing cape and a white mask carved with a wide, weeping expression.

---

[Vinn, The Weeping Jester]

[Level: 60]

[Description: The same as Mirla, though his powers are different.]

[Hell-Mode Analysis: In our way.]

---

"Are we really doing this?" Vinn muttered.

His voice was quiet. Unsure. But his power said he was just as dangerous as the others.

"Stand your ground," the one in the middle growled.

The third figure stood between them, larger than the others by far.

Massive, bulky, with a dark red jester coat stitched with crude bone-like designs.

He looked like a monster wearing a jester's skin. His mask was completely blank. No eyes, no mouth. No holes either.

Sam briefly wondered how he could even see.

---

[Grint, The Blank Jester]

[Level: 60]

[Description: The most powerful out of the three disciples.]

[Hell-Mode Analysis: He's also in our way, no mercy.]

---

Sam didn't need to analyze them further.

He could already tell, these three were no ordinary enemies. They were probably Jevil's top monsters.

And that made sense. This was the [Fourth Floor].

Probably the last floor before the top, or so Sam assumed.

"Top monsters?" Mirla laughed as if insulted, "We're his disciples, you idiot."

Sam's eyes narrowed, 'She read my mind?'

He didn't like that, but it didn't matter.

Without a word, he raised his hand and activated [Primordial Spirits].

Ding!

---

[Which spirit do you wish to summon?]

[→ Rune Dragon (Level 60)]

[→ Empty Slot]

[→ Empty Slot]

---

Sam selected the [Rune Dragon] again.

The massive dragon spirit appeared instantly in front of him, its body glowing with runes and crimson energy.

"We get rid of them," Sam ordered, eyes cold, "They're in our way."

The [Rune Dragon] gave a silent nod and turned toward the three enemies.

It opened its mouth wide, charging its power.

ROOOAARRRR!

"You're not passing," Grint shouted, his voice loud and deep, "Jevil ordered us to stop you!"

"We know what you're capable of, Primordial..." Vinn's voice was hushed, trembling, "What your kind have done to worlds... what you might do to the entire realm."

"That's nice," Sam replied flatly, "Because I don't even know what I'm capable of."

Mirla burst into laughter.

"It doesn't matter! You won't get past us! This floor is our domain!"

"We'll end it here," Vinn said, taking a step forward. His mask glowed slightly, "The last Primordial... needs to die."

Grint cracked his neck.

His hand opened, and three small glowing cards appeared, swirling around him.

Each one was marked with Jevil's chaotic symbol.

Two similar cards hovered around Mirla and Vinn as well. Two for each of them.

'The more cards they have, the stronger they are...?' Sam noted.

But again, he didn't care. They were obstacles. And obstacles were meant to be destroyed.

[Proceed.]

The [Rune Dragon] roared again.

The runes across its body blazed brightly as it began to charge [Rune Flames].

But before it could release them—

FWOOOSH!

Grint suddenly vanished and reappeared right in front of the dragon.

His body was wrapped in a thick white aura, and the three cards around him burned even brighter.

"How you got this dragon on your side, I don't know," Grint growled, "but it won't save you."

From his arms, two transparent blades of pure aura formed.

They shimmered with energy as he leapt up in a single fluid motion.

In one strike, he slashed the [Rune Dragon]'s neck clean off.

SPLASH!

The dragon's head fell to the side. Its massive body hit the ground like thunder.

"No one will save you," Grint repeated coldly as he landed, the two aura blades still gleaming faintly.

Ding!

[Your "Rune Dragon" has been killed. You cannot use it anymore as one of your "Primordial Spirits."]

Sam stared at the message for a moment.

So that's what happened when a spirit died... It was gone. For good.

Still, he didn't flinch. It didn't change anything.

The three of them were still in his way. And spirit or not, he would kill them.

He'd tear them down, no matter what it cost.

Because he had to.
