Chapter 220: Attack of the Clones
{Alius has gifted 1,000,000 Soul Pearls!} |
Upon reading the notification, Sora smiled.
'If he wanted to flex on me and is expecting me to give them back, he'll be disappointed.'
He read the comments, noticing the chat messages pouring at a crazy rate.
@Desmo: WHO TF JUST DROPPED A MILLION SOUL PEARLS?! |
@Yomu: A MILLION SOUL PEARLS?! WHAT KIND OF FLEX IS THIS?! |
@Lama Tekton: Bro… that's the biggest gift I've seen in my entire time watching streams. Even the big players from the other races don't get that much! |
@Mihawks VII: Wait, how is that even possible? Isn't Soul Power supposed to be rare? |
A new wave of comments began to pour in, this time from higher-level players who seemed to know more than the average viewer. Sora noticed a little difference in the chat, as players who have subscribed to his stream had a little star in front of their names.
@Eclipse: For those who don't know, Soul Pearls are created from Soul Power, which is unlocked at level 180 with class advancement. Most players can only produce one or two per day, depending on their class and overall power. |
⭐@Morgan Casey: Exactly. I'm level 180, and even I can only make three a day on a good day. A million Soul Pearls? That's… insane. |
⭐@Patrickhere: Whoever this Alius is, he's a completely different level. @Alius If you read this, I'd like to become friends with you! |
Lower-level players, who were just learning explanations about Soul Power for the first time, began to chime in, their disbelief obvious.
@Maxwell Rakt: Wait, so you're telling me this guy just gifted the equivalent of centuries' worth of Soul Pearls?! |
@Nolwenn: Bro, I'm level 120, and I didn't even know Soul Power was a thing until I first opened the streaming platform. I can't wait to reach level 180!! |
@Hextek_99: This stream just keeps getting crazier. |
@Black Typhoon12: Soul Pearls are insanely rare, and this Alius guy just dropped a million of them like it was nothing? @Alius open DMs, I'm beautiful IRL! |
@Sky Ty-rant: @Sora Hashino, @Alius Do you guys accept disciples? Do you have a guild? I would like to apply! |
@VortexQu33n: Alius, if you're watching this, marry me. I'll do anything for you!! |
Sora wasn't used to all the attention. After spending the last month surrounded by idiots, this felt refreshing. With a smile on his face, he couldn't help but read more messages.
'So this is what it feels like to be a successful streamer? I might get addicted to this…'
@Solar Sewer: @Sora Hashino, who are you? You and your guys came out of nowhere and started wiping the floor with level 200+ enemies like it's nothing. |
@Eclipse: And why does everyone in your stream look the same? Is this some kind of cloning technique? |
@Nomad: @Eclipse, what kind of clones have you seen before that have such strong personalities? Didn't you check their info? They all have different names—One Hundred-One, Seven, Sixty… Probably a private force of players who use the same appearances and names to confuse the enemy. |
@Sky Ty-rant: Maybe they're part of some kind of army or experiment. |
@Ass-as-sinned: Bro, what if they're NPCs? Like, super-advanced AI created by the system to protect us? |
@VortexQu33n: Nah, no way. The system isn't that kind to us bro. |
@FRWriter: @Sora Hashino WHY THE FUCK are you not thanking your subscribers or answering any of us? Can you respond already? Don't be a drama queen! |
However, upon reading the last message, Sora's smile froze. He started browsing through the stream settings and clicked on the name "FRWriter". A bolded message appeared in the chat.
[Viewer FRWriter has been banned for 24 hours.] |
He sighed and closed the chat interface. Refocusing on the camera, he finally spoke.
"Thank you, everyone, for the Soul Pearls. I'll make good use of them. As for those asking questions, I know you're curious, but now isn't the time for answers. Watch this instead."
He swiped his fingers on the stream interface and the stream switched once more. The screen now displayed Six Hundred, standing in another [Void Tunnel] beside someone who looked just like him. One Hundred-Ten, had a sword in hand and was playing with it.
"We've been here for so long. We should just attack now. The boss will just display our scene later..." He muttered. "I'm tired of waiting."
The story has been taken without consent; if you see it on Amazon, report the incident.
Six Hundred chuckled, shaking his head at his brother's impatience. "Wait for the signal. The other groups' diversion is crucial. If they don't create enough chaos, we'll be in trouble."
He glanced at One Hundred-Ten. "By the time the boss switches to our POV, our enemies should be watching the stream. If all goes as planned, their strongest forces will already be drawn to the human cities."
One Hundred-Ten rolled his eyes. "Why are you telling me this? I'm aware of the plan."
Six Hundred smiled and passed his fingers across his hair before his eyes locked onto the camera.
"I'm not explaining it to you," he said, "I'm explaining it to them."
Sora who had not bothered checking the content of the dialogs before selecting the feed, felt a wave of embarrassment.
'Oh my god. This guy is cringe. Why are my Alter Egos like this?'
Then, without another word, Six Hundred and One Hundred-Ten moved. The moment they left the [Void Tunnel], the audience saw what Six Hundred and One Hundred-Ten saw.
Tall mountains stretched before them. At the base of those mountains stood two enormous statues, carved from a white stone. Each statue depicted a monstrous beast with a relatively smaller humanoid figure on its back.Between them, there was the start of a valley. From their position, the valley seemed peaceful. Countless small houses were scattered throughout, forming a crowded but strange city. Above them, giant nests were perched along the mountainsides, sheltering many familiars.
This place wasn't part of the New World Kingdom. This was enemy territory. Six Hundred and One Hundred-Ten didn't hesitate and began moving. Their figures blurred as they dived toward the entrance, landing in front of the two statues.
Two Dwarf players stood guard, both above level 220. They wore plate armor, their shields beside them. One of them held a mace while the other had a sword at his waist. Their postures were relaxed, unaware of the impending danger. Six Hundred's eyes were focused on the guardian holding a mace. Unlike many of his brothers, he had focused on body forging but was never given the time to develop his body fully.
Without a supreme skill to 'save his progress' when resetting like Sora, he had been forced to rely on the knowledge passed down by his brothers and the skills he created. Knowing he couldn't count on his body level in every fight, he had chosen to infuse his attacks with Soul Power.
The moment he stepped forward, he appeared in front of his opponent. The player barely had time to react when a palm struck his chest.
He used a skill Seventy had created, [Soul Ban].
[Soul Ban] |
[Description: Temporarily expels the soul of a player from their body. The higher the player's soul level, the easier it is for them to return. |
Warning: Returning to a dead body is impossible.] |
The dwarf's soul was forcibly ejected. His body froze in place, while his Soul thrashed in panic, desperately trying to re-enter. But Six Hundred didn't wait. His other palm struck again as he obliterated the dwarf's body before the player could return. As his soul began dissipating, Six Hundred and One Hundred-Ten moved forward and entered the valley, not sparing another glance to the fallen guards.
However, what Six Hundred saw next made him hesitate. Everywhere he looked, dwarves filled the streets. Some were players, but most people where civilians. People going about their daily lives. He saw children playing in the streets, laughing as they chased each other. He saw merchant arguing with customers, haggling over prices. Distracted from his task, he watched in silence as the crowded place reminded him of human cities.
He heard One Hundred-Ten's message, "Don't stop. We don't have much time."
Six Hundred's expression hardened as he remembered the mission and began moving. He thought of the information he had and immediately appeared in front of a house. To enter the house stealthily, his body turned into [Wind]. He appeared face to face with a Level 170 player.
It was a female player, fully geared. From what he could sense, she was likely a ranged damage dealer relying on elemental skills. He dismissed the thought and attacked. Before she could react, he placed his hand on her shoulder and sent a wave of cold through her body, instantly turning her to ice.
[You have eliminated a Tier 3 enemy player from the Dwarves Kingdom!] |
[You have been awarded 50,000 War Points.] |
Hearing the notification, he didn't wait. He left the house as quickly as he had entered and headed toward the next target.
A Level 183 Archer. Eliminating the player just as quickly, he moved on to the next.
A Level 157 Mage. One after another, he erased every high-level player in the valley.
When he reached his tenth target, he stopped. The person he was about to assassinate was sleeping, holding a child in his arms.
"Kill all players above level 150."
'What a shitty mission,' Six Hundred thought.
"However, avoid anyone in the presence of family or children." These were Sora's last words when he gave them the instructions.
Six Hundred's tense shoulders relaxed as he left the man alone and moved on to the next target.
