Chapter 1: 1

Cold and shivering.

When Link woke up, he found himself tied up and locked in a dark, narrow room with a group of strangers sporting various hair colors.

The floor swayed gently with the sound of waves, and the damp, salty air reeking of the sea made him realize he was likely on a ship.

Telecom fraud?

But he clearly remembered playing ranked matches at home before everything went black. Was he kidnapped? Had Northern Myan*ar gone crazy and started abducting random people?

The back of his head throbbed in pain as fragmented memories surfaced. The last thing he remembered was being hit by a truck while leaving the restroom on the sixth floor.

A nightmare? No, this felt too vivid for a dream. The harsh reality hit Link—he might have encountered some kind of supernatural phenomenon.

He forced himself to calm down, focusing on the voices of the other captives.

"Has the Aqua Team lost their minds? They're openly committing piracy! Aren't they afraid of the Alliance retaliating?"

"They took my Water Leap Fish! What do they even want with it?"

"Are they going to throw us into the sea? I don't want to be food for Sharpedo!"

"Save us! Someone call the legendary hero, Dolphin Man!"

"Stop yelling! Can't you let me have some peace before we die?"

"Damn it, if only the power sealed in my left hand wasn't dormant…"

Aqua Team? Alliance? Water Leap Fish? Dolphin Man?

These names jolted Link's memory. He realized his situation—he was aboard a ship hijacked by the Aqua Team somewhere in or near Hoenn.

He wasn't sure of the timeline, but the Aqua Team hadn't yet awakened Kyogre. As long as there was room to negotiate, there was still hope.

Suddenly, a haunting piano and violin melody echoed in his mind, followed by a mysterious mechanical voice:

[This summer, you and your classmates Takuma Momoka and Minoru Hinata attended a summer camp together. Lost among red spider lilies, you were attacked by a strange creature known as the 'Beast God.']

System? Or hallucination?

[In desperation, the professor sacrificed himself, giving you and your classmates a chance to flee into the fog.]

System, do you even know what you're talking about? This has nothing to do with my current situation!

[The good times didn't last. The creature attacked again. By chance, you picked up a mysterious device, awakening a dormant part of your soul.]

[The resulting white light knocked you unconscious. When you awoke, you were in another world...]

In less than a minute, Link was too exasperated to complain. As the system's introduction finished, he felt a solid, palm-sized object in his pocket.

Link cautiously shifted his body to touch the item, hoping it could aid in his escape. His heart nearly stopped.

The shape, the texture—it was unmistakable. It was the original Digivice from Digimon Adventure!

Good news: at 18, Link was finally a Chosen Child.

Bad news: he'd been transported to the wrong world.

Despite his disbelief, he knew the system was his best shot at survival, so he immediately explored its features:

[①Resume Simulation: Continue from an interrupted memory. (Unavailable)]

[③Language Analysis: Enables seamless communication in this world. (Active)]

Link pondered the system's purpose. It seemed designed to simulate futures and ensure a survival scenario. Although unsure who "everyone" referred to, he selected "Start Simulation" without hesitation.

In a flash, the scene shifted.

[You awaken outside an abandoned school. A fluffy-tailed creature with white-tipped fur introduces itself as "Pokomon."]

Wait, what simulation is this? I'm kidnapped on a ship, not at some abandoned school!

[You and Pokomon bond, suspecting the "Beast God" to be a Digimon.]

[Half an hour later, Takuma Momoka, Minoru Hinata, and Aoi Shibuya arrive. They are accompanied by Agumon, Falcomon, and Labramon.]

Digimon? Seriously? I'm in Hoenn, not some digital forest!

[The group explores the decayed school, finding it mysteriously aged by decades despite being gone only a day. Takuma's phone and Minoru's compass malfunction without signal.]

[Labramon sustains injuries protecting Aoi. To find medical supplies, the group searches the infirmary and uncovers a suspiciously pristine first-aid kit.]

[Suddenly, screams echo from the second floor. The others rush upstairs, leaving you alone with Pokomon. Distracted by the anomaly, you encounter a hostile Patamon.]

[Patamon's Air Cannon strikes you down, ending the simulation. Rewards: 0 gold coins, 0 bits, 1 Band-Aid.]

Killed by Patamon? How weak am I in this other world?!

Link's expression twisted with frustration as he exited the simulation. Despite the absurdity, the Band-Aid he gained might prove useful.

"Pokomon, evolve into Kitsunemon already!" he muttered, preparing for another try.

End of the Chapter.
