Chapter 47: Chapter 47: Pewter City
After suffering a humiliating defeat, Asen had no choice but to retreat. He quickly recalled his unconscious Electabuzz and stumbled away from the crowd, vanishing from sight.
The spectators paid little attention to Asen's departure. Their focus remained on Ash and his Beedrill, marveling at the skill and strength displayed during the battle.
"Hi, I'm Doni from Celadon City. You were amazing! There's no way you're just a Rookie Trainer…" one trainer approached Ash excitedly, glancing at Beedrill with admiration.
Ash smiled politely. "I'm Ash from Pallet Town, and I am a Rookie Trainer."
The response left Doni and the others stunned. "Really? A Rookie Trainer?!"
Several trainers exchanged incredulous looks. To see someone just starting their journey display such skill and power was astonishing.
"Wait, Pallet Town? Is that the place where Professor Oak lives?" one trainer asked, recognizing the name of the small town thanks to its connection to the famous Pokémon researcher.
"That's right," Ash confirmed, engaging in a friendly conversation with the trainers. Misty stood nearby, watching the interaction with a proud smile.
After some time, Ash apologized, "It's getting late, and I need to head to Pewter City. Thanks for the chat!"
"Are you going to challenge the Pewter Gym tomorrow?" one trainer asked eagerly.
Ash nodded. "If all goes as planned, I'll challenge the Gym tomorrow morning."
The trainers immediately grew excited, with several promising to watch his battle.
With goodbyes exchanged, Ash and Misty resumed their journey toward Pewter City. Misty walked with an uncharacteristic spring in her step, her smile never fading.
"Why are you so happy?" Ash asked, confused by her cheerful demeanor.
"Hmph. I've watched you grow as a Trainer, and seeing you get so much praise makes me proud," Misty replied smugly.
Ash scratched his head, puzzled by her reasoning but ultimately laughed along with her.

Pewter City
Nestled under the Rock Mountains in the northwest of the Kanto region, Pewter City stood as a unique blend of nature and history. Its name, derived from the grayish-black color of pewter, reflected the rugged and sturdy atmosphere of the city.
The city wasn't as bustling as Viridian City but had a charm of its own. It was famous for the Pewter Museum of Science, which housed ancient relics, including complete fossil skeletons of Aerodactyl and Dragonite.
Another attraction was the bustling market streets, where trainers sold and traded rare items such as evolutionary stones. Due to the abundance of surrounding mountains, Pewter City was a hotspot for treasure hunters and climbers.
As Ash and Misty reached the city's southern entrance, Ash couldn't contain his awe. "This place is incredible!" he exclaimed, gazing at the towering mountains and the unique architecture.
Misty, having passed through Pewter City before, wasn't as impressed. She took the opportunity to share her knowledge about the city, further fueling Ash's curiosity.
Pewter City exuded a sense of solidity and peace. The locals appeared content, and the serene atmosphere made Ash feel at ease.
Their first stop was the Pokémon Center, a distinctive structure carved from gray stone. Unlike the dome-shaped center in Viridian City, the Pewter Pokémon Center looked like it had been sculpted from a massive boulder, blending perfectly with its surroundings.
Outside the center, the battlefield was alive with activity. Afternoon battles were in full swing, drawing a crowd of excited trainers.

Rest and Recovery
After checking in at the Pokémon Center, Ash and Misty handed their Pokémon to Nurse Joy for care. Then they headed to their dormitory.
"Finally, a real bed!" Misty exclaimed, tossing her bag near the window and collapsing onto the soft mattress. "This feels amazing!"
Ash chuckled, leaning back on his bed. "It's definitely better than sleeping in a bag on the ground."
After a moment of relaxation, Misty turned toward Ash, propping her head on her hand. "Do you have any plans for later? I want to explore the city!"
Ash thought for a moment before replying, "We should pick up Pikachu first. After that, we can check out the city and grab dinner. How does that sound?"
Misty's eyes sparkled with excitement. "Perfect!"

Pokémon Care
Once their Pokémon were ready, Ash and Misty returned to the Pokémon Center lobby. Pikachu and the others had regained their strength, looking refreshed and ready for action.
Nurse Joy offered some advice as she handed Pikachu back to Ash. "Regular training is important, but overexertion can lead to hidden fatigue in your Pokémon. If left unchecked, it could cause them to fall ill."
Ash nodded thoughtfully. "So that's why jobs like Pokémon breeders and masseurs are so important."
He made a mental note to be more attentive to his team's well-being. With Brock potentially joining them in the future, Ash felt reassured. Brock's knowledge as an aspiring Pokémon breeder would undoubtedly be a great help.

Exploring Pewter City
With their Pokémon in good condition, Ash and Misty ventured into the city. The streets were alive with activity, from the chatter of locals to the calls of merchants selling wares.
Ash couldn't help but feel inspired by Pewter City's unique atmosphere. The sturdy buildings and tranquil environment seemed to reflect the strength and resilience of its inhabitants.
Their exploration ended with a cozy dinner at a local restaurant, where they planned for the next day's big event: the Pewter Gym Challenge.
---
Ash leaned back in his chair, excitement bubbling inside him. Tomorrow, he would face his first Gym Leader. With Beedrill, Pikachu, and the rest of his team by his side, he felt ready to take on any challenge.
Misty watched him with a knowing smile. "You're going to do great, Ash."
Ash grinned. "Thanks, Misty. I can't wait to show Brock what we've got!"
