Gary entered the Pokémon Department Store with a clear objective: to purchase the best evolution stones for his Pokémon. Unlike many Trainers who might settle for ordinary items, Gary was determined to use only the finest supplies available.

"I need a premium Leaf Stone. Do you have one in stock?" he asked the attendant confidently.

The saleswoman paused, surprised by the request. Premium Leaf Stones were rare and extremely costly, far beyond what most Trainers could afford.

"Young sir, premium Leaf Stones are quite expensive—three million PokéDollars each. Are you certain you want one?" she asked, raising an eyebrow.

Gary smirked. "If I didn't want it, why would I ask? Just tell me if you have it." His tone was dismissive, as though the price tag was irrelevant.

The attendant hesitated before responding. "We do have them, but you'll need to show proof of your ability to pay. Premium items like these are kept securely in the safe and are not displayed publicly."

With a slight shrug, Gary reached into his jacket and pulled out a sleek black card. The moment the card was revealed, the attendant's jaw dropped.

This was no ordinary card—it was a limitless Black Card, one of the rarest forms of currency in the Pokémon world. Very few Trainers, let alone civilians, possessed one.

"Understood, sir! Please wait a moment while I retrieve the item," she said, now all smiles.

Gary nodded.

The Leaf Stone

After a few minutes, the attendant returned with a finely crafted box. She placed it on the counter and carefully opened it, revealing a gleaming Leaf Stone.

The stone, roughly the size of two adult palms, radiated a subtle green light. Its texture resembled that of a fossilized leaf, exuding an air of mystery and ancient power.

"This is the premium Leaf Stone you requested," she said proudly.

Gary examined the item and nodded in satisfaction. "Excellent. Do you also have a Fire Stone of similar quality?"

The saleswoman's eyes lit up. "Of course! Please give me another moment."

She returned shortly with another intricately designed box. Inside was a pristine Fire Stone, its surface smooth and translucent, as though it contained a living flame. The stone shimmered with a fiery glow, far superior to ordinary Fire Stones.

Gary raised an eyebrow, impressed. "Your store has truly outdone itself. I didn't expect to find such high-quality items here."

The attendant smiled. "Our store has a dedicated supply chain, thanks to the investments of Mr. Banmu."

At the mention of Banmu—Giovanni's alias—Gary smirked knowingly. It made sense. Viridian City was heavily influenced by Team Rocket, so it wasn't surprising that such rare items were available here.

"I'll take both stones. Charge it to my card," Gary said.

"Right away, sir!"

The transaction was completed quickly. The saleswoman beamed, knowing she would receive a substantial commission from this high-value sale.

Preparing for Evolution

With the evolution stones secured, Gary replenished his supplies, purchasing energy blocks that his water and grass Pokémon would enjoy.

Later that day, he found a quiet garden in Viridian City where he could focus on his Pokémon's development.

Sitting on a public bench, Gary held a Poké Ball in his hand. Pressing the release button, he summoned Exeggcute.

Six small, egg-shaped Pokémon appeared, each with a unique expression.

"Egg?" The Exeggcute looked around curiously, taking in their surroundings.

Gary smiled. "Exeggcute, it's time for you to evolve. Are you ready?"

The Exeggcute stared at him in disbelief. Evolution stones were rare in the wild, and most wild Pokémon had little hope of obtaining one.

"Egg! Egg!" the group chattered excitedly, expressing their gratitude.

Gary chuckled. "Don't thank me yet. Let's make it happen."

The Evolution

Gary opened the box containing the Leaf Stone and held it out to Exeggcute. The moment the stone came into contact with the Pokémon, it began to glow brightly.

A surge of energy coursed through Exeggcute's small bodies, triggering a rapid transformation. Their shape shifted, growing taller and broader. Soon, they stood as a single, unified Exeggutor, towering as tall as Gary himself.

"Coconut egg~!" Exeggutor let out a cheerful cry, testing its newfound strength.

Gary observed the changes with satisfaction. Although this Exeggutor was slightly smaller than average due to its early evolution, it was no less formidable. With time and training, it would grow to its full potential.

"You look great," Gary said, patting Exeggutor on its trunk-like body. "With this evolution, you'll be able to adapt to battles much faster."

He recalled the importance of early evolution for certain Pokémon. For example, a Charmander evolving into Charizard would need time to master flight. Similarly, evolving Exeggcute early would allow Exeggutor to develop its fighting style sooner.

"Now, let's work on building your strength," Gary said.

Gary's Philosophy

Gary understood the intricacies of Pokémon evolution. While some Trainers avoided evolving their Pokémon early to allow them to learn advanced moves, Gary didn't see this as a limitation. With his resources, he could simply purchase Technical Machines (TMs) or hire expert Trainers to teach his Pokémon any move they needed.

For him, early evolution was an advantage, allowing his Pokémon to reach their peak performance faster.

As Exeggutor adjusted to its new form, Gary reviewed its stats. He noticed that its intimacy level with him had increased significantly.

"Good work," he said, recalling Exeggutor to its Poké Ball.

With his team growing stronger by the day, Gary felt confident about the challenges ahead.

As night fell, he prepared for his next mission: ensuring the safety of the Viridian Pokémon Center and collecting his well-deserved rewards.
