After Persian left peacefully, the heavy atmosphere in the training room gradually dispersed. With the mischievous antics of Natu and Pichu once again playing out in front of Sato without incident, the mood in the room soon returned to its previous calm and relaxed state.

However, the effects of both Arbok and Persian leaving were still felt. This time, Sato had successfully established his authority in front of the other Pokémon.

Now, Natu and Pichu had become noticeably more well-behaved in his presence—especially Natu, who no longer tried to speak to him in a disrespectful tone.

Training finally wrapped up around 10 p.m. After Sato and his Pokémon ate and drank their fill at the Fat Boss's restaurant, he didn't return directly to his room at the Pokémon Center. Instead, he strolled through the streets and alleys of Goldenrod City.

At night, Goldenrod City was just as lively as Saffron City. After a full day's work, many people sought fun in the evening to relieve the stress of daily life and work.

Sato, however, was still in a gloomy mood, and the psychological disturbance festering inside him began to stir once more. To deal with this, he decided to find a way to ease it.

Although his attempt to feed birds yesterday had ended in failure, he had discovered something important: while feeding the birds, he felt genuinely at peace. The disturbing thoughts and constant vigilance within him had seemed to momentarily fade.

After thinking it through, Sato came to a conclusion: doing good deeds could help him suppress his mental state and the uneasiness in his heart. He believed this was because acts of kindness brought out his better self and was more aligned with his values, bringing him a sense of inner calm.

So tonight, Sato decided to play the role of a just vigilante—intervening whenever he saw injustice, helping the helpless, and using criminals as live combat training for his Pokémon.

Nighttime in Goldenrod City was indeed vibrant—but also the peak hour for criminal activity.

In a dim, deserted alley, a well-dressed couple was being attacked by three robbers. Although the couple had Pokémon with them, their lack of training made them no match for the robbers' battle-hardened Pokémon.

In less than a minute, the couple's two Pokémon were knocked out cold.

"Hehehe~ Kid, still trying to be a knight in shining armor? Hand over everything you've got, and maybe we'll let you go. We're just in it for the money."

"Yeah, don't be stupid. Give us your stuff. Fighting back won't do you any good."

"Boss, Second Brother, no more talking with this punk. Our Pokémon are using Protect. If he dares to try Explosion with his Pokémon, he's just asking to die."

The three rough-looking thugs directed their Pokémon to corner the couple, all while psychologically wearing them down with threats—especially targeting the young man, who had a Voltorb and looked like he might do something reckless.

Eventually, the pressure got to them. Their defenses crumbled, and they began to obediently take out their valuables.

But just as they were about to hand them over, two icy blue beams of energy suddenly rained down from above—instantly knocking out two of the robbers' Pokémon. The third, a Houndour, was taken out by a Heracross that descended from the sky and delivered a crushing Brick Break.

Before the robbers could even react, Heracross charged in and floored all three of them in a single blow—just like their Pokémon.

Without waiting for the stunned couple to say a word, Heracross spread its wings and took to the sky. Its dark blue-black shell blended perfectly into the night, and within moments, it disappeared from sight.

Only then did the couple snap out of their daze. They looked around frantically but saw no sign of their mysterious savior.

As they turned their gaze in the direction Heracross had flown, they spotted a figure standing atop the alley rooftop: a person wearing a black cloak and a white mask, glowing blue eyes watching them in silence.

[You're safe now. Get out of here quickly. Don't come to dangerous places like this for dates anymore.]

At the same time, those words rang clearly in both their minds.

The moment the voice faded, the rooftop figure vanished like a phantom, leaving nothing but the darkness behind.

The couple looked at each other in astonishment but were not ungrateful. Although they hadn't had the chance to thank their mysterious savior, they bowed deeply in the direction he'd disappeared.

Then, they turned and gave the three unconscious thugs a thorough kicking before hurrying out of the alley.

Half an hour later, several hundred meters away from where the couple had been attacked, another alley was the site of a completely one-sided battle.

Twelve thieves—who had just successfully robbed a jewelry store nearby—lay sprawled across the ground, along with their Pokémon.

"Who the hell are you?! Why stick your nose in our business—ARGH!"

One of the thieves, still on his feet, watched helplessly as his comrades were picked off one after another by the Pokémon of the mysterious cloaked and masked figure in front of him. He shouted while commanding his Raticate and Weezing to fight back.

Unfortunately, all he got in return was a telekinetic blast to the chest. The masked figure's psychic power slammed him against a wall, knocking him out instantly. His Raticate and Weezing didn't fare any better—both were flattened by a single Thunderbolt from the cloaked man's Nidoking.

Moments later, only one figure remained standing in the alley: the mysterious masked vigilante.

Not long after, the sound of sirens echoed from nearby. Officer Jenny arrived first, riding her Arcanine, and was greeted by the sight of unconscious thieves scattered across the alley, with glittering jewels lying under the dim streetlight.

"Quick, arrest all the culprits from the jewelry store robbery. Check the stolen goods for anything missing, and return them to their rightful owners as soon as possible!"

As backup officers arrived, Officer Jenny swiftly took command, organizing the arrests and recovery of the stolen jewelry.

"Report: According to the thieves, they were ambushed by a mysterious masked figure in a black cloak. The person defeated them effortlessly."

Ten minutes later, at the Pokémon Police headquarters in Goldenrod City's central district, a young officer knocked on the door and stepped into the office of an elderly, white-haired police superintendent, reporting the latest updates on the jewelry robbery case.

"That masked vigilante again? That makes eighteen times now. Each time, he's swiftly and decisively taken down the criminals without ever taking things too far. He's doing us a huge favor. Looks like Goldenrod City has gained a new defender of justice."

"Pass down my orders: if anyone encounters the masked vigilante, they must treat him with the due respect and fully cooperate with his efforts to bring criminals to justice. No hostility, no interference. Assist him however you can."

The old superintendent's face showed a mix of surprise and admiration as he listened to the report. After a moment of thought, he gave a firm, no-nonsense order to the young officer.
