The Victreebel moved with incredible speed, clearly having started its preparations in secret right after emerging. Just as Palot finished speaking, a white orb of light shot out from its body, soaring high into the air.

The orb rose higher and higher, eventually halting in midair several meters above the ground. It radiated an intense light and heat, resembling a miniature sun.

This white orb was the Sunny Day move used by Victreebel, essentially creating a small, artificial sun through concentrated Fire-type energy.

In the games, this artificial sun typically lasts for five turns, which translates to roughly five minutes. During this time, the Sunny Day effect boosts Fire-type move power by 50% and activates abilities like Chlorophyll that depend on sunny weather.

Although Victreebel's actions were swift, the speed of Sato's Shiny Beautifly, equipped with a rare, Mutated Supreme Sky Splitting Stone, was no less impressive.

As Victreebel executed Sunny Day, Shiny Beautifly had already closed the distance, its rapid Aerial Ace attack about to connect.

However, with the artificial sun now in place, the sunny weather had taken effect on the battlefield, instantly activating Victreebel's Chlorophyll ability.

With a sudden whoosh, Beautifly's Aerial Ace narrowly missed its target. The attack struck only an afterimage of Victreebel, which had used its boosted speed to relocate five or six meters away onto a patch of grass.

"Well done. Use Growth for now and avoid direct confrontation," Palot commanded with a satisfied smile after Victreebel's timely evasion, capitalizing on the explosive speed granted by its Chlorophyll ability.

"What are you doing?! Do you think a minor victory justifies arrogance? Don't underestimate your opponent. If you slack off even a little during battle again, I won't ever send you out to fight!"

As Palot spoke, Sato's expression under his mask turned icy, and his sharp reprimand was directed at the Shiny Beautifly.

Hearing Sato's stern words, both the audience and Palot were puzzled. It was entirely reasonable for Beautifly to lose out in speed against Victreebel, whose Chlorophyll ability was active.

Why such harsh criticism?

The next moment, everyone, including Palot, understood Sato's scolding.

The Shiny Beautifly trembled slightly visibly after being rightfully reprimanded, and then its wings began beating at an unprecedented speed.

In a flash, the audience saw a blur, and the next thing they knew, Victreebel, which had been using Growth while moving, was sent flying backward at astonishing speed.

When the audience regained their senses, Victreebel had been knocked several meters away from its original position, battered and bruised. Meanwhile, Beautifly now stood where Victreebel had been moments before.

Even the dullest observers realized that Beautifly's speed was otherworldly.

Despite the Chlorophyll boost, Victreebel couldn't keep up with Beautifly, who had clearly been holding back during its earlier attack. Now, Beautifly's demeanor had undergone a complete transformation.

Where it had once resembled a serene, graceful butterfly, it now radiated the commanding aura of a battle-hardened Valkyrie.

Reflecting on its mistake, Beautifly recognized the truth in Sato's words—it had been careless, underestimating its opponent.

As a Bug Monarch with a naturally high Speed base stat of 97.5, and further augmented by the doubled speed effect of the Mutated Supreme Sky Splitting Stone, Beautifly still outpaced Victreebel, even with Chlorophyll active under sunny weather.

Its failed Aerial Ace was purely the result of its own carelessness.

Determined to atone, Beautifly resolved to redeem itself by winning decisively and restoring its trainer's faith. As an intelligent Pokémon, far more so than the average Bug-type, Beautifly understood Sato's character well.

This was the same trainer who had meticulously cared for it as a Silcoon.

Sato might usually be approachable, but he was uncompromising in his decisions. If he said something, he meant it. Beautifly knew that if it repeated the same mistake, Sato would truly stop sending it out for battles.

The thought of being dismissed pained Beautifly deeply. It didn't want to leave Sato—it wanted to remain by the side of the trainer who had treated it so kindly.

Although its innate talent was remarkable, Beautifly could sense the latent strength of its teammates—Swampert, Nidoran, Bellossom, the Pokémon still in its egg, and even Growlithe.

Even without it, the team would carry on just fine.

Palot, meanwhile, was visibly shaken by Beautifly's incredible speed. He had never encountered anything like this before.

Based on his advanced studies in Pokémon training, he knew that Victreebel's Chlorophyll ability raised its Speed base stat to 140 under sunny weather, making it faster than most Pokémon.

How could a Beautifly, with a base Speed stat of only 75, move this quickly? Especially without access to Quiver Dance?

"Impossible… This can't be real! Victreebel, use Weather Ball on it!"

Struggling to compose himself, Palot ordered the heavily injured Victreebel to counterattack.

Well-trained, Victreebel quickly recovered, disappearing in a blur as it began charging energy in its mouth.

As it sped around, Victreebel formed a white energy orb, which immediately transformed into a flaming ball as it launched the Weather Ball attack.

Thanks to the sunny weather, Weather Ball was now a Fire-type move with its base power boosted to 100, further amplified by the weather effect.

If Beautifly were hit, it would undoubtedly lose its ability to battle.

But to the astonishment of both Palot and Victreebel, the blazing Weather Ball passed straight through Beautifly, striking the grass instead and erupting in a fiery explosion.

The flames spread rapidly across the battlefield until the venue's fire-suppression systems kicked in.

At the same time, a dazzling blur appeared behind Victreebel.

Boom!

With a powerful Aerial Ace to Victreebel's back, Beautifly sent its opponent hurtling forward, directly into the smoldering grass.

A minute later, Victreebel lay charred and motionless, clearly unable to continue.

"Victreebel is unable to battle. The winner is Beautifly!"

The referee's whistle confirmed the outcome, and the crowd erupted into cheers.

"Wow, that Beautifly is amazing!"

"Incredible! Look at that speed!"

"Unbelievable. This is legendary-level speed!"

The applause was thunderous, a testament to Beautifly's breathtaking performance.
