A Level 18 Wingull versus a Level 34 Golbat—what kind of battle would this be? Without a doubt, it was a straightforward and overwhelming mismatch.

However, the Shiny Wingull didn't completely lose its fighting spirit. Realizing that escape was futile, it launched a quick Waterfall attack, charging directly at Sato with surprising cunning, understanding the principle of "strike the leader first."

Unfortunately for the Shiny Wingull, this small trick was child's play to Golbat.

With a single Steel Wing, Golbat effortlessly intercepted the attack and knocked out the Wingull in one blow, rendering it incapable of continuing the fight.

Sato then calmly used a Great Ball to capture the Shiny Wingull without any difficulty.

From the moment Sato spotted the Shiny Wingull to the successful capture, the entire process took no more than two or three minutes.

Coupled with the confirmation that no one was around, thanks to Golbat's vigilance, Sato's capture went entirely unnoticed.

"Let's hope it stays that way," Sato muttered as he looked at the Great Ball in his hand containing the Shiny Wingull.

He gave Golbat on his shoulder a light pat before glancing toward a shadowed area in the distance with a hint of suspicion.

During the capture, Sato thought he'd seen a brief distortion in that shadow, but he wasn't certain.

"Maybe I'm just imagining things," he thought, shaking his head after thoroughly checking the area and finding nothing.

Afterward, Sato didn't immediately leave.

To avoid raising suspicion, he diligently returned the water bucket to the location Max had designated before heading back to his room.

As Sato left, the stern of the ship remained deserted. But shortly after, the shadow he had been eyeing earlier began to stir.

A figure slipped out, moving swiftly along the deck before vanishing into parts unknown.

Once back in his room, Sato wasted no time releasing the Shiny Wingull he had just captured, as well as his other Pokémon.

The Shiny Wingull had already regained consciousness but was too severely injured to fly. Seeing this, Bellossom, ever kindhearted, immediately approached to heal her.

As Sato explained to the rest of his Pokémon that the Shiny Wingull was their new companion, they gathered around her and Bellossom.

Among them, Ditto was the most enthusiastic, transforming into a Wingull to break the ice.

"Wingull, I believe you've realized it by now. I defeated and captured you, so from now on, I'm your Trainer. Don't worry, though—I'll train you well. You're part of our team now," Sato said with a smile as he prepared breakfast for all his Pokémon.

Though the Shiny Wingull had only known Sato for a few minutes, she seemed to accept her new reality. Since Sato had bested her fair and square, she gave him a small nod, signaling her submission.

In truth, the Shiny Wingull couldn't help but feel a significant amount of pressure from Golbat perched on Sato's shoulder.

Recalling how she had been defeated in a single move, any lingering resentment she had toward Sato quickly dissipated.

The Shiny Wingull had been driven out of her flock shortly after hatching and had survived alone in the wild for a long time.

Her cunning and adaptive nature made her well aware of the harsh "survival of the fittest" law of the natural world.

As such, she had little resistance to the idea of submitting to a stronger individual.

Moreover, the kind and graceful Bellossom left a strong impression on the Shiny Wingull. As Bellossom tended to her injuries and spoke highly of Sato, the Wingull quickly got a sense of Sato's character.

Her initial wariness began to fade, and her opinion of him improved significantly.

What sealed the deal, however, was the delicious feast Sato provided—a gourmet meal of premium water-type Pokémon food and a generous offering of gem-grade PokeBlocks.

The Shiny Wingull swore she had never tasted anything so exquisite. Compared to this, the fish she usually worked so hard to catch were a far cry, like heaven and earth.

Before long, yet another food-loving Pokémon from humble beginnings had fallen prey to Sato's culinary bribes, and judging by her behavior, she seemed on the verge of becoming one of his most loyal allies.

"Alright, alright, Wingull. I get it. Don't worry, I won't drive you away," Sato said with a twitch of his lips as the Shiny Wingull clung to his leg with her wings, looking at him pitifully.

"Wing~~!"

Hearing Sato's reassuring response, the Shiny Wingull eagerly chirped and quickly returned to her food bowl, happily devouring the contents with a blissful expression.

To Sato's surprise, the Shiny Wingull turned out to be quite the glutton. One standard portion of Pokémon food wasn't enough to satisfy her.

After finishing her meal, she gazed longingly at Mudkip, who had claimed five food bowls for himself, leaving Mudkip visibly stressed.

Naturally, Mudkip wasn't about to share. In a show of unmatched determination, he devoured the remaining three bowls of food at an astonishing speed, leaving the Shiny Wingull stunned.

In the end, Sato had no choice but to give her another portion of premium water-type Pokémon food, further earning her gratitude and affection.

After breakfast, Sato turned his attention to an important task. Taking out a vial of blue dye, he called the Shiny Wingull over to him.

The value of a Shiny Pokémon couldn't be overstated. Even a Shiny Caterpie could fetch a staggering price on the black market, let alone one with such potential.

To avoid any unnecessary trouble, Sato needed to use a bit of trickery to conceal her identity.

In truth, the Shiny Wingull was nearly identical to a normal Wingull, except for some parts of her feathers that differed in color.

Sato only needed to dye those distinct feathers to make her indistinguishable from a regular Wingull.

The Shiny Wingull was all too happy to comply. Her unique feather coloration had always been a source of distress, leading to rejection by her own kind.

When Sato offered to make her feathers look like those of a normal Wingull, she eagerly agreed.

With her cooperation, it didn't take long for Sato to carefully apply the waterproof blue dye to the greenish feathers on her wings.

Now, the Shiny Wingull's true identity was perfectly concealed. As long as Sato reapplied the dye periodically, she would appear to everyone else as an ordinary Wingull.
