[Dungeon "Po Town-Team Skull Base" (completed), the rewards are as follows:]
[1. Random advanced Pokémon items] [2. Rare Technical Machine] [3. Totem sticker X10] [4. Buginium Z](Complete it for the first time and get a special reward) [5. Poisonium Z](Complete it for the first time and get a special reward)
"The rewards are a bit disappointing," Chris commented as he examined the list.
In other regions, even the Rockets with their sub-base in Mahogany Town in Johto would at least offer a Mega Stone.
I defeated the more powerful Team Skull and only got Buginium Z and Poisonium Z?
The treasure-level Pokémon items and rare Technical Machine could only be considered basic rewards.
Ten Totem stickers were at best a consolation prize.
After giving it more thought, Chris realized that considering Team Skull's status and economic situation, it was impossible for Guzma to be wealthy before working for the Aether Foundation.
"Oh well, it would be nice to come back here monthly to collect some secret treasures," he decided.
Chris checked his acquisitions.
The rare Technical Machine was "Swords Dance."
It was quite a practical move, capable of raising a Pokémon's Attack stat by two stages at once.
This was perfect timing since he didn't have a Garchomp yet, so he could use this directly to boost its attacking power!
The secret treasure he obtained was called "Fighting Black Belt."
Fighting Black Belt: Increases the power of Fighting-type moves by 40%.
After using a Fighting-type move, when using moves of other types, their power increases by the number of consecutive Fighting-type moves used × 10%, with a maximum power increase of 100%.
Chris didn't fully understand this secret treasure when he first read its description.
But after testing, he reached a conclusion.
For example, if Blaziken used "Force Palm" first, and then used a non-Fighting move like "Blaze Kick," the Blaze Kick would deal 110% of its normal damage.
If Blaziken used "Double Kick" first, then Blaze Kick would deal 120% of its normal damage.
Chris experimented by having Blaziken use the "Double Kick + Force Palm" attack method, which caused damage four times in total, and then used Blaze Kick. The damage from Blaze Kick was boosted by 140%.
Before using non-Fighting moves, the more Fighting moves used consecutively, the better. Using them ten times in a row could achieve a 100% increase in power.
Judging from these results, this treasure-level item was ideal for Pokémon that could unleash continuous Fighting-type moves.
Without a doubt, Blaziken was the perfect Pokémon for the Fighting Black Belt.
Coincidentally, Blaziken had already absorbed the "Bolt Strike Charcoal," and it didn't have another exclusive Pokémon item, as it had always carried treasure-level items.
After equipping Blaziken with the "Fighting Black Belt," Chris left Po Town.
He checked his current Totem sticker count.
98, just two Totem stickers away from the fifth Totem Pokémon.
It was unfortunate that the three Team Skull members hadn't come to battle earlier, and Chris was transported out of the dungeon right after defeating Guzma.
Not a major issue though, as there were plenty of places to find Totem stickers on Ula'ula Island!
Chris decided to take a detour to Mount Hokulani. On the mountain, he easily found two Totem stickers, and discovered three more at the nearby Hokulani Observatory.
"103 Totem stickers? Could Professor Oak offer more than five exchanges?" Chris wondered, surprised.
He used Gardevoir's Teleport to return to the Pokémon Center in Malie City, then used Flygon's Fly to reach the Pokémon Center in Heahea City. From there, he headed to Heahea Beach to find Professor Oak.
Upon speaking with Professor Oak, as before, after confirming that Chris's Totem sticker count had exceeded the goal, Professor Oak presented Chris with three Poké Balls containing three Totem Pokémon, allowing him to choose which one to take.
The Totem Pokémon rewards for collecting all 60 Totem stickers were: Vikavolt, Salazzle, and Gyarados.
"Totem Gyarados and Vikavolt?" Chris's eyes lit up.
He immediately dismissed Salazzle. Compared to the other two, it was inferior, and its appearance was problematic as well.
Choosing between Gyarados and Vikavolt, Chris thought carefully and selected Gyarados.
There was no complicated reason. He already had a Red Gyarados, so this Totem Gyarados wouldn't be trained as part of his main team. Since it was intended for sale, it was natural to choose the more popular option.
After selecting Totem Gyarados, Chris examined its stats: Attack, HP, Defense, and Speed were all perfect IVs, with the Intimidate ability.
This was quite good. If it had a perfect IV in the crucial Attack stat, it would certainly fetch a high price. Being both a Totem Pokémon and having four perfect IVs, this Gyarados would likely sell for several times the price of the pseudo-legendary series!
Chris could already envision the grand opening of his next breeding house venture.
He spoke with Professor Oak again, who presented another three Poké Balls for Chris to choose from.
The Totem Pokémon rewards for collecting all 80 Totem stickers were: Toucannon, Arcanine, and Mudsdale.
Without much deliberation, Chris selected Totem Arcanine.
Looking at its individual values, it had perfect IVs in Attack, Special Attack, and Speed, with the Justified ability.
This dog with a base Speed stat of 130 wasn't one Chris planned to sell. Instead, he intended to give it to the old Arcanine Master.
Consider it a thank-you gift from himself to the master, whose Shiny Growlithe had been helpful.
As for returning the favor, that would require another meeting.
Finally, Chris approached Professor Oak for the fifth time. Based on his previous memory, Professor Oak should offer the pseudo-legendary Totem Pokémon this time.
But since the game he was playing now had changed so much, Chris felt uncertain.
After all, Professor Oak originally only gave five Totem Pokémon, but now there were three additional Totem stickers. There were definitely quite a few more Totem stickers on the last island in the Alola region, potentially allowing for a sixth exchange.
So it was difficult to predict whether the Dragon-type pseudo-legendary Pokémon would be available in the fifth exchange.
Speaking with Professor Oak once more, he was presented with three Poké Balls.
The Totem Pokémon rewards for collecting 100 Totem stickers were: Kommo-o, Goodra, and Salamence.
"They're available!" Chris's eyes gleamed with excitement!
And all three were Dragon-type pseudo-legendary Pokémon!
Chris had originally planned to exchange for a Totem Kommo-o. After all, in his estimation, the fifth Totem Pokémon exchange with Professor Oak in the game would offer Kommo-o.
But now, there was the additional Salamence that he had always wanted to obtain.
Without hesitation, he chose Salamence!
