Chapter 89: I Am Latias~
Could the thing I had been longing for all along have been right beside me?
After dismounting from Latias, Hikaru found himself lost in thought.
The legendary Pokémon he had dreamed of had now become his Pokémon.
Looking at Latias, who was still snuggling up to him, Hikaru activated his Scan Eye ability.

Latias was still in a weakened state.
It seemed she hadn't fully recovered from using her energy to replenish the Soul Dew back in water City.
No wonder she loved eating psychic-type energy cubes so much.
"Maybe I should start preparing dragon-type energy cubes for her," Hikaru mused, noting Latias' dual typing of Dragon and Psychic.
"All right, you two, enough snuggling!" Hikaru finally said, unable to bear it any longer.
Both Gardevoir and Latias were pressing against him, practically glued to his sides.
Meanwhile, Charizard, Greninja, and Lucario observed from a short distance, puzzled by their teammates' behavior. Although they loved Hikaru, they didn't feel the need to cling to him like this.
As for Larvitar?
It had already gone back to sleep after eating its fill. Truly a little glutton through and through.
That wasn't to say Larvitar hadn't made progress. In just a few days of feasting, it had leveled up to 19, and after eating a growth fruit, it had shot up to level 22.
---
"Latias..."
"Gardevoir..."
"Manaphy!" (Snuggle time~)
---
Ever since Latias became his Pokémon, Hikaru felt like he was living in a dream.
He reminded himself that as an Advanced Trainer, he could now have up to six Pokémon on his team. Once he reached the Master level, that limit would expand to ten, and at the Champion level, there would be no restriction.
These limits were in place to ensure trainers didn't bite off more than they could chew by capturing too many Pokémon, only to abandon older ones when new favorites came along.
But Latias? She needed no second thoughts. Hikaru knew there was no Pokémon more deserving of a place on his team.
As he thought this, he made another silent wish: Please, give me a Mega Evolution Stone for Latias!
---
That evening, under the gentle glow of moonlight, the night was calm.
"Manaphy, why aren't you resting?" Hikaru asked.
Lately, Manaphy had been gazing longingly at the ocean every night.
Hikaru suspected it was because the Ocean Temple was calling to her.
"Mana~" (It's almost time!)
Manaphy flew over to Latias' side and quietly nestled against her, falling asleep in no time.
Hikaru chuckled softly. "Looks like we'll need to search for the Ocean Temple soon. I wonder if the legends about Manaphy commanding all Pokémon in the sea are true."
Yawning, he laid down to sleep.
---
The Morning of May 1st
Gathering his Pokémon (except for the still-snoozing Larvitar), Hikaru held a team meeting.
"Listen up, everyone. For the time being, we're pausing our daily training!"
"Char?" Charizard grunted in confusion.
"Let me finish first," Hikaru said, holding up a hand.
"Manaphy is the Prince of the Sea. We need to help her find her home for now."
He turned to Manaphy. "You've been longing for the ocean lately, haven't you?"
Manaphy touched her head, looking troubled.
While the call of the ocean was undeniable, returning there would mean parting ways with Hikaru and Latias—a thought that filled the young Manaphy with sorrow.
"It's okay," Hikaru reassured her, patting her head gently. "We'll find the Ocean Temple together."
The journey wasn't just about staying together forever but cherishing the precious moments they shared.
Besides, with his Pokémon Summon Card, Hikaru knew they could always reunite if they missed each other.
Latias, however, cast a wistful glance at Hikaru, then at Manaphy. The bond she had formed with Manaphy was strong, and the thought of separation saddened her deeply.
"Everyone agree with the plan?"
"Char!"
"Greninja!"
"Gardevoir~"
"Lucario!"
The team gave their unanimous approval, their enthusiasm lifting Manaphy's spirits.

Afterward, Hikaru checked his daily Trait Roll.
He got a green trait.
"Let's not talk about it," he muttered, converting it into 35 Trait Coins.
Thanks to his growing roster of Pokémon, his Happiness Conversion trait was now generating 100–130 Trait Coins daily.
He scrolled through the Trait Shop and froze.
---
[Basic Viridian Aura]: Grants the user Viridian Aura, allowing them to communicate with Pokémon and heal them. Cost: 500 Trait Coins.
---
"Viridian Aura?!" Hikaru exclaimed.
This was perfect. The ability not only allowed communication with Pokémon but could also calm and heal them.
He purchased it immediately. Combined with his Aura of Waves, this was the ultimate combination for soothing Pokémon and resolving conflicts.
---
Three Days Later
Hovering over the ocean on Charizard's back, Hikaru scoured the waves for three days before finally arriving at a promising location.
"Is this it?"
"Mana~" (Yes, yes! But it's not ready yet~)
Manaphy beamed, pointing toward the waters below.
"Not ready yet, huh?" Hikaru said, settling in to wait.
As they lingered, a massive cruise ship passed by, its horn blaring across the waves. Hikaru recalled Charizard and summoned Latias, using her psychic abilities to teleport onto the ship's deck.
Nearby, he overheard snippets of conversation.
"I heard the Ocean Temple might appear around here. Do you think it's true?"
"I'm not sure. A lot of people are saying it, though..."
