Chapter 71: Takashi's Shock!

Thump.

Watching Hikaru act smug, clearly emboldened by Takashi's presence, Takashi gave him a light knock on the head.

"You're getting way too cocky."

Beside Takashi stood a dark, furnace-like humanoid Pokémon, Dusknoir.

"Dusknoir, Mean Look!"

The Pokémon's orange eyes glimmered ominously, sending waves of psychic energy toward every enemy Pokémon on the field.

In games, Mean Look prevents an opponent from escaping or switching out. In reality, its effect was far more severe—locking down any spatial movement or escape from the battlefield.

"How could Takashi Hayashi be here so quickly?"

The attackers were horrified.

Rumors of Takashi's ruthlessness were widely known—he was infamous for eradicating any signs of illegal activity with zero tolerance.

"Well, well, well. Not only do you dare cause trouble in Shuimu, but you've also stirred up this mess in my backyard? You've got some nerve!"

Takashi's lips curled into a cold, mocking smile, but his fury was evident.

It was now clear to him that these intruders were the cause of the disturbance in Shuimu's waters.

Before him, two battered legendary Pokémon, Latios and Latias, were struggling to hold their ground.

"Dragonite, Thunder Punch!"

Electricity crackled around Dragonite's fists as it lunged toward the water-type Pokémon, weaving through them with blinding speed.

Before the attackers could even react, the entire group of Pokémon was knocked out and lay motionless on the ground.

This display of raw power left Hikaru utterly speechless.

Did Takashi's Dragonite just knock out all those Pokémon in a single blink?

If not for Hikaru's Aura sensing ability, he wouldn't have been able to comprehend what had just happened.

A Champion-level Dragonite... terrifying.

"Roar!"

Even Charmeleon was awestruck, its blood boiling with excitement. Dragonite's towering frame dwarfed its own, and its sheer power was awe-inspiring.

One day, Charmeleon thought, I'll surpass that Dragonite!

"Surrender now, or face the consequences!"

Takashi's sharp gaze swept over the group. His cold and commanding tone sent chills down their spines.

Seeing Dragonite and Dusknoir standing watch, many of the intruders dropped to their knees and raised their hands in surrender.

The leader, however, refused to give up. Knowing full well he faced certain death if caught, he subtly reached for his belt.

But this small movement didn't escape Takashi's notice.

Dragonite shot forward, its Dragon Claw slicing cleanly through the man's arm before he could act.

Blood sprayed like a fountain, and after a brief moment of shock, the man's agonized screams filled the chamber.

No one moved to help him; they simply watched in silent terror as he writhed on the ground.

Latias floated to her injured brother, tears in her eyes, her psychic voice echoing in the minds of those present.

"Help us, please…"

Hearing her plea, Takashi and Hikaru quickly descended to their side.

One glance was enough to see the dire condition they were in.

Latios was riddled with wounds, while Latias appeared unscathed.

Before collapsing, Latios had used Healing Wish to cure Latias of poison and restore her stamina.

Takashi frowned deeply.

He hadn't brought any advanced healing items with him, and backup would take some time to arrive.

"I'll handle it!"

Hikaru spoke up, opening his spatial backpack.

Inside were various high-grade medicines, potions, and antidotes, stored precisely for emergencies like this.

Pulling out a bottle of Hyper Potion, he carefully applied it to Latios' wounds, bandaging them afterward.

But Hikaru wasn't done. He began unpacking additional tools and rare materials.

"What are you doing now?" Takashi asked, puzzled.

"I'm making an antidote. The standard ones I brought won't work against a poison of this level."

Hikaru's hands didn't stop moving as he replied.

The antidotes in his bag were suitable for lower-tier poisons, like those from a Venusaur. But the poison from a Master-level Tentacruel? That was a completely different beast.

"Wait, you can make antidotes? Are you a Pokémon Breeder?" Takashi's curiosity was piqued as he watched Hikaru expertly handle the equipment and materials.

"Yeah," Hikaru replied without looking up.

To bolster his claim, he added, "My mentor is Master Breeder Ayame Matsunaga, ."

"Excuse me, what?"

Takashi was dumbfounded.

He wanted to ask more questions but decided against it, opting instead to observe in silence.

After a few minutes of intense work, Hikaru exhaled in relief. In his hands was a crystal-clear antidote, shimmering like a pristine stream.

Takashi's disbelief deepened.

The antidote in Hikaru's hands wasn't ordinary. It was of a caliber high enough to counter poisons from Master-tier Pokémon—something only top-tier breeders could produce.

At his age, was Hikaru already a top-tier Pokémon Breeder?

Takashi began reevaluating his impression of the young man.

He's not just skilled in combat but also has unmatched potential as a breeder. If he truly becomes a Master Breeder, the possibilities would be endless…

Takashi's thoughts took an unexpected turn.

If Hikaru and Sakura were to end up together… wouldn't that mean their family would gain access to free Master-level Pokémon food and medicine?

It was starting to seem like an ideal match.

Most importantly…

Ayame Matsunaga, . had been Takashi's college senior and secret crush back in the day.

If Hikaru married into the family… wouldn't that make him a sort of connection to her?

Takashi's expression softened at the thought, his usually stoic face taking on a rare gentleness.

"What's wrong?" Hikaru glanced back, noticing the odd look on Takashi's face.

"Nothing. Focus on Latios."
