Slowly opening his eyes and looking at the dim surroundings, Abra quickly recalled what had happened before he lost consciousness.

He vividly remembered a group of humans attacking Pokémon on the island some time ago. To protect him, his father had sent him away using Teleport, then lured the attackers away. His father never returned, leaving Abra to fend for himself and live a wandering life.

Despite being just a child, Abra had to grow up quickly. With limited ways to defend himself, he survived by sneaking fruit, escaping only by teleporting when confronted by another wild Pokémon. However, this life of constant fleeing and hiding could not last forever.

One fateful day, Abra was attacked by a Raticate, leaving a painful wound on his back. It was only through a desperate Teleport that he narrowly avoided becoming prey. The memory made Abra shudder.

Suddenly, he touched the wound on his back. It was bandaged but still stung slightly.

"When you wake up, eat something first. It'll help you recover faster," said a voice unexpectedly.

Startled, Abra turned toward the source of the voice to see Tyson speaking to him. Instinctively, he prepared to Teleport away, but the movement pulled on his wound, slowing his reaction.

"Relax," Tyson continued gently. "You're safe. I found you injured and bandaged your wound. This is my home, and you're welcome to rest here."

Tyson placed a bowl of broth—made from dried meat he'd scavenged—near Abra, then stepped back to give him space.

Still wary, Abra hesitated but soon realized the human's words seemed true. His bandaged back and the inviting aroma of the broth were evidence enough. Hunger gnawed at him, and his stomach grumbled audibly.

Unable to resist the tempting smell, Abra's defenses began to waver. Tyson, noticing this, gave an encouraging smile. "Go ahead and eat. There's more if you want it."

Abra cautiously levitated the bowl closer and began eating. The broth was warm and nourishing, unlike anything he'd had in weeks. For the first time in what felt like forever, he felt safe.

Seeing Abra enjoy the meal, Tyson served him another bowl. Abra, overwhelmed by hunger, finished it without hesitation. After three bowls, he leaned back, rubbing his now-full belly with a satisfied sigh. For the first time since his father left, Abra felt content.

"You can stay here until your injury heals," Tyson said warmly. "Don't worry—I won't harm you."

Abra looked at him thoughtfully, considering his words. His simple understanding led him to believe this human was different from the attackers who had chased him and his father. Feeling a sense of security for the first time in ages, Abra nodded in agreement before succumbing to his exhaustion.

Smiling, Tyson gently placed a blanket over the sleeping Pokémon. Watching the small figure, he felt a pang of sympathy. Abra's ordeal reminded him of his own past—a life of fear, insecurity, and solitude.

While Abra slept, Tyson spent the time training against nearby wild Pokémon, further strengthening the bond between his Charmeleon and Eevee. By the time Abra awoke the next evening, the enticing smell of fresh broth filled the air once again.

Abra devoured another three bowls, his appetite seemingly endless. Each time, he showed his gratitude with a contented smile, his crescent-shaped eyes glinting with satisfaction.

The following day, Tyson decided to venture farther to complete his tasks, and he couldn't bear to leave Abra alone in the cave. Carrying Abra in his arms, Tyson set out, the Pokémon nestled comfortably as a quiet observer.

Abra watched Tyson battle alongside Charmeleon and Eevee, marveling at their teamwork. A longing stirred within him as he thought of his father and the warmth of family he had lost.

Back in the cave that evening, Tyson busied himself preparing food and drying provisions for the coming days. Abra observed him quietly, a feeling of belonging growing stronger with each passing moment.

As Tyson cooked, Charmeleon and Eevee played nearby. Abra looked at them, then at Tyson, and felt something he hadn't felt in a long time—hope.

It was in that moment Abra began to think that perhaps, just perhaps, he had found a new home.
