Pokemon: Scientist From One Piece

Chapter 11: 11

"Nephew? More like a secret son, right?"

Nashizuki thought to himself as he observed the scene before him.

A kid who had popped out of nowhere, receiving a house from Giovanni, surrounded by strange laboratory equipment… The pieces fit together too well.

Nashizuki was 99% sure that Hirito was Giovanni's illegitimate child.

He probably only found out about him recently and, feeling guilty, was showering him with gifts to make up for lost time.

Rich people really did have wild imaginations.

"Ahem~ This is President Nashizuki of Sandslash Real Estate Company," Giovanni coughed, quickly changing the subject. "His daughter is about your age."

Nashizuki grinned. "Hirito-kun, come visit us sometime. I'll introduce you two."

He was certain—if his daughter could marry Giovanni's son, that would be an enormous boost for their family.

"Is she pretty?"

Hirito asked instinctively.

There was no helping it—this was an instinct deeply ingrained in a man's DNA.

He wasn't one of those wooden protagonists who stayed celibate for over ten thousand chapters.

Giovanni and Nashizuki both fell silent at the brutal honesty of the question.

Yeah… this kid was real.

"Haha! Don't worry, my daughter perfectly inherited the excellent genes of me and her deceased mother."

Nashizuki burst into laughter, relieved that Hirito wasn't disinterested.

Giovanni, however, shook his head. "Hey, isn't it a little too early for a ten-year-old to be thinking about these things?"

Hirito shrugged.

He wanted to retort—did Giovanni not know how many girls Ash Ketchum had unknowingly charmed by the age of ten?

If Ash wasn't obsessed with Pikachu, Auntie Hanako might have had a grandson before she even turned 35.

But considering that at this time, Ash was probably still in diapers, Hirito decided to let it slide.

After exchanging a few more pleasantries,Nashizuki and Giovanni made plans to have dinner together before Nashizuki departed with his employees.

With the help of Machoke Moving Company, some basic lab infrastructure was successfully set up.

Hirito couldn't wait—his research journey in the Pokémon world was about to begin.

"Don't worry, Little Black, it won't hurt… huh?"

Just as Hirito was about to draw some blood from Umbreon, he noticed something.

Bruises. Impact wounds.

These weren't here yesterday.

His face darkened.

"What happened while I was out?"

Did someone break in?

"Woo woo…"

Umbreon refused to meet his gaze, lowering her head and shaking it gently.

Hirito sighed.

"…It's fine. If you don't want to say, I won't force you."

He knew even if she wanted to explain, there was no common language between them.

This just reinforced something—

Meowth was underrated.

If Team Rocket monetized Meowth's ability to communicate with Pokémon and humans, they would be set for life.

Why were they always broke?

After confirming that Umbreon had no serious injuries, Hirito finally felt relieved.

"Uncle, release your Pokémon too."

Giovanni raised an eyebrow. "What for?"

"Umbreon alone isn't enough for research. Don't you have a whole arsenal of Pokémon?"

Hirito smirked.

Giovanni rolled his eyes but, realizing it was just for blood samples, didn't protest.

With a flick of his wrist, he released his Pokémon.

Nidoking, Nidoqueen, Beedrill…

Hirito had already met Nidoking, so there were no surprises there.

But the moment he approached Beedrill with a syringe, something changed.

A sharp, invisible killing intent filled the air.

Beedrill and the others immediately locked onto him.

A chill ran through the room.

"Ee!"

Umbreon jumped off the examination table, baring her fangs in a protective snarl.

A newborn calf isn't afraid of tigers.

Giovanni chuckled. "Relax, Beedrill. He's one of us."

The tension eased slightly.

Then, Giovanni turned to Hirito, his eyes flickering with surprise.

"There aren't many people who can stay so calm after feeling Beedrill's killing intent."

Hirito smirked. "You get used to it."

Compared to the psychological warfare in One Piece, this level of intimidation was child's play.

Hirito smeared the Pokémon blood samples onto glass slides and placed them under the microscope.

And then…

A wide grin spread across his face.

"This is fascinating."

Giovanni raised an eyebrow. "What?"

"Eevee's DNA reminds me of a species I studied before…"

A species with unstable genes that could adapt to any environment and merge with foreign traits.

That's why Eevee had so many evolution paths.

This reminded Hirito of the Lunarians.

The same race as King, the second-in-command of the Beasts Pirates in One Piece.

The so-called "God race."

Highly adaptable.

Able to survive in extreme environments.

And—most importantly—capable of integrating with foreign DNA.

This was why Vegapunk cloned the Lunarians to create the strongest human weapons—Seraphim.

It was eerily similar to how Eevee's genes worked.

Then another thought struck him.

Pokémon that could change forms…

Deoxys' four transformations.

Silvally's Type-Switching Drive.

Arceus' free-type conversion.

And—perhaps Eevee could be capable of something similar.

The Origin of All Pokémon…

His hand instinctively reached for a pen and paper.

He began scribbling furiously, adjusting calculations, testing hypotheses.

Giovanni watched in silence.

Where had this kid learned these things?

His techniques, his proficiency in handling scientific instruments—none of it matched his age.

He wasn't inferior to the scientists working in Team Rocket's secret bases.

And just now…

What did he mean by 'studied before'?

How old was he when he studied these things?

In his mother's womb!?

Many years later, whenever Giovanni spoke about Hirito, he would always begin with the same words:

"This was the moment I first met that '500 years ahead of his time' genius… the man known as the 'Strongest Brain.'"
