Pokémon: Rewriting Ash’s Legend

Chapter 255: Sceptile vs Rhyperior!

"It's your turn, Sceptile!"

"Cha-mo!"

Sceptile!

Ash's ace from the Hoenn region had entered the field.

Level 79—Sceptile's strength already surpassed that of Rhyperior, not just in raw power but especially in speed.

Ash was curious. Just how fast could his Sceptile end this battle?

"Even if you have the type advantage, don't think that's all we've got! Rhyperior, Earthquake!"

"ROOOAR!"

Rhyperior's massive foot slammed into the battlefield!

Its control over its power was impressive. Cracks webbed out across the arena in an instant!

This Rhyperior wasn't some average Pokémon—it was a Champion-level powerhouse, standing tall at level 75!

Palmer—the Tower Tycoon and guardian of the Battle Tower—watched Ash and Sceptile with a sharp gaze.

As the strongest Frontier Brain in Sinnoh, he had of course heard of Brandon.

And anyone capable of defeating Brandon… was someone to be taken very seriously.

How would Ash's Sceptile deal with an Earthquake that shook the entire battlefield?

Ash raised his hand and snapped his fingers.

"Frenzy Plant!"

"Cha-mo!"

Sceptile didn't even flinch at the incoming Earthquake!

The next moment, the quake hit full force.

CRACK!

The ground split apart, debris and soil bursting into the air!

Sceptile was right in the danger zone—seemingly trapped in the heart of the destruction.

And then—

Sceptile dropped to one knee, slamming both hands against the battlefield!

WHOOSH! WHOOSH! WHOOSH!

Dozens of massive, thorn-covered vines erupted from underground like wild serpents!

Twisting, writhing—an almost demonic dance—these Frenzy Plant surged forth, defying the chaos of the Earthquake.

The tremors heading for Sceptile were completely blocked—cut off by the sudden forest of thorny growth.

And those same vines lunged toward Rhyperior!

An all-out opening move!

Frenzy Plant—one of the most powerful Grass-type move. If it landed cleanly, even Rhyperior would be finished in a single hit.

Palmer's reaction was immediate.

"Dig! Burrow deep into the ground!"

He knew the vines had a limited attack range.

Rhyperior let out a defiant roar and dove underground, its enormous body breaking through the earth. Flying debris scattered, trying to obstruct the vines' advance.

It worked—briefly.

The thorns shredded through the rocks like paper—but it bought Rhyperior just enough time to vanish beneath the surface.

"First time I've seen someone go full power right at the start. I like it!" Palmer laughed, intrigued.

Around them, the citizens of Twinleaf Town were abuzz with excitement.

Ash had won the town's championship with just a Floatzel. Many assumed that was his strongest Pokémon.

Now, seeing this far stronger Sceptile in action—curiosity surged. Could this young man really defeat Palmer?

Ash gave a slight smile. "Full power?"

He didn't respond directly—only repeating Palmer's words with amusement.

Suddenly—

The thorned vines all slammed into one spot, then pried it upward!

ROOOAR!

Rhyperior was forcibly ripped out from the deep earth, tossed high into the air—and crashed back down in a thunderous slam!

It wasn't out yet.

Though badly bruised and gasping for breath, it hadn't lost the will to fight.

But before it could react, Sceptile's tail lashed out—green energy tendrils surged forth, wrapping tightly around Rhyperior.

"Wait… is that Giga Drain?"

Palmer murmured.

Yes—Sceptile, Ash's trusted Hoenn ace, possessed incredible combat instinct.

At critical moments, it didn't need Ash's orders. It simply chose the most effective strategy on its own.

Seize the opponent—end the fight quickly.

But strangely, the Giga Drain didn't activate.

The moment Rhyperior was bound, Sceptile stopped.

Because it was over.

"No way! This is nuts!" Barry was in disbelief.

His dad—his dad!—had just been defeated in two moves.

Just two attacks from Ash's Sceptile… and Rhyperior was done!

"I gotta get stronger! I can't let Ash leave me in the dust! I'm a future Elite Four member!"

He wasn't the only one surprised.

Palmer slowly nodded. "Looks like that's the end. You win, Ash."

Now he understood how Brandon had lost.

This wasn't just power. It was evolution.

In fact… could Sinnoh's own Champion, Cynthia, even beat him now?

[System Activation – Tenfold Experience Multiplier Used!]

"Ding! [Congratulations to the host! Sceptile has defeated Rhyperior and gained 6,000 battle experience!]"

Tenfold Bonus: 61,000 EXP Gained!

A tremor pulsed through the arena.

Ash's Sceptile—on the verge of breaking past level 79—was beginning its transformation!

WOOOOOM!

"Cha-mo!!"

Sceptile roared.

The plants, grass, and trees across nearly half of Twinleaf Town responded.

Everything connected to nature suddenly glowed with unimaginable vitality!

Johanna, stepping forward to congratulate Ash, was stunned.

Even she hadn't anticipated this.

Professor Oak, watching from afar, instantly grasped what was happening.

"So that's why he always keeps Sceptile by his side… He's been helping it break past its biological limits."

Normal Pokémon, to evolve beyond Champion level and enter the realm of Tier 3 Divine Pokémon, had to shatter the boundaries of life itself.

And that's exactly what Sceptile was doing.

Without a doubt—it was breaking through!

The entire natural world around Twinleaf Town channeled their energy to Sceptile.

Its level began to rise at an unstoppable pace…
