Pokemon: Reborn As Ash; Hoenn

Chapter 37: Hoenn- Mauville City

Max, "Ash, are you busy?"

Ash smiled, "Come in, Max. Do not worry about this. I was just adding a few finishing touches to my book."

Max perked up, "Oh! The Chronicles of Hogwarts?"

Ash smiled at him, "Yes, except tis is before the era of the Golden trio. It is the beginning of Hogwarts. I call it Genesis of Wizarding Magic."

Max's eyes twinkled, "Are we finally going to learn about the original founders?"

Ash, "Yes, yes we are."

Molly popped in, "Are you talking about the book?"

Ash, "Yes, I must admit, I have so many ideas for this. Including adventures and quests that I could incorporate."

Ruby was leaning against the wall, "That sounds like a lot of fun."

May was behind him, "May we join you, Ash?"

Gou, "We will give you space if you want space to think."

Ash, "No, please come in. You might be able to help me decide how to go about the adventures."

May looked giddy, "What do you have in mind?"

Ash, "So, as you know I picked four founders to create the school of magic. The only thing is the details of said creation. I wish to turn this into a novel with vague descriptions of the items required to make it."

Gou, "Why vague descriptions?"

Ash showed them his mail, "Bill has created a game for me."

Max, "Wizards and Magicals? Is that like Dungeons and Pokemon broad game?"

Ash, "Yes, only it is available online and depending on what sort of action you choose, the outcome will be different."

May, "Ooooh! I get it, I get it. The novel will be more of a secret guide won't it?"

Molly, "People who read it will have an advantage compared to those who do not."

Ash, "Yes, and Bill was thinking of incorporating a co - op section in the game where the players would have to interact with one another to complete quests."

Max, "Because the school was built by four people not one person."

Ash giggled, "Teamwork makes the dream work. It will allow people who are not social normally a comfortable way to interact and socialize with others too."

Ruby softened, "You are thinking about Red, aren't you?"

Ash, "Well, not exactly but he is one of the few people. He has gotten more open after he started travelling though still reserved."

May, "I think that's very sweet Ash. Maybe this will help my friend too."

Ash, "Your friend?"

May gave a wry smile, "I like to think of him as a friend, though he may think I am annoying."

Ash, "Oh! An introvert, that too an intense one."

May nodded, "He is not so bad though. Especially when he gets excited over Pokemon and starts going off on tangents about their moves and such."

Ruby, "Sounds like a cutie you want to protect because you just know others will try to take advantage of them."

May nodded seriously, "So when are the game and the book releasing?"

Ash hummed looking at his calendar, "The game will be released first sometime around the end of summer and start of autumn. They want to focus on Halloween for the first big online event."

Ruby's eyes widened, "You are going big, aren't you?"

Ash, "Bill wants too and others too. They are pretty excited about doing something that has nothing to do with work, only fun."

Molly, "It sounds like they have been working on this for a while now."

Ash, "Yup, since before I started my journey."

May, "So it will be awesome when it comes out."

Ash, "They are working on a hand held portable play station for trainers like us who travel around the world. It will be available for the laptop and desktop users for non trainers a month before that."

Max, "Cool! So we just have to remember our accounts and passwords for it till then."

Ash, "Normally yes, and honestly I am excited to how the game will turn out compared to the book. It does have an ambiguous ending for a reason."

May, "Sounds fun actually. I really want one now."

Molly, "Where will it be released first?"

Ash, "I am honestly leaving that to the Gym leaders. They agreed to do the openings at night in their regions. Turns out they are very curious about the past too. Well almost all of them at least."

Ruby, "Right the older generation would not care much about it."

Ash laughed, "No, not them."

May, "Eh? Then who?"

Molly, "Ah! The stuck up ones."

Ash shrugged, "Lance said he will find someone else to do the opening. I personally think he is using this to get away from boring paperwork and meetings."

Ruby, "Well, your projects are actually fun and not monotonous and mind numbing."

Ash, "You think so?"

Max, "Totally!"

Ash, "Glad to hear that. Speaking of a project I have a new idea for horror stories."

May, "Stories as in plural?"

Ash nodded sending a file to their phones, "Here is a summary. Check it out and tell me what you think."

The group beamed and took their phones out and read through the four summaries that had been sent to them. Gou sat next to Ash who turned back to his typing while Ruby pointed out a few quests that would be interesting to the highly intellectual ones and some for those who prefer easy going tasks. The ghost stories were interesting and the group decided to vote on which one should be published first. The first place went to "The Dancing Village", which Ash remembered was a popular folk tale back in his old world. They had been training the last two days and had finally taken a day off to cool down. Ash's Pokemon were relaxing in different parts of the centre. Abra, Eevee, Phanphy, Ralts and Phantump were in the daycare area, Diance was off with Lucario under disguise to enjoy some ice cream together. The two of them looked like siblings under disguise, while Treeko, Taillow, Wigglytuff, Pikachu and Kingler were at the pool enjoying the water under the sun.

The water type had decided to join Ash and help the young ones train before taking a break to cool off and let their bodies catch up with the training. Kingler had training dealing with electric attacks despite being a water type and had decided to help Taillow raise her defenses and immunity. So far she was doing okay and Pikachu was considering increasing the intensity of his attacks. Ash would watch over their training getting involved during the strategy part but allowing Taillow to move at her own pace when it came to increasing the electric attacks. May was planning her new costume for the next contest as she missed one thanks to the time mismatch and the trouble they had to deal with. She was planning to go big especially with Torchic who looked ready to enter his evolution phase. It would be interesting to watch in his personal opinion hos Torchic would deal with Honchkrow who is the literal Leader of the group and May's third parent most of the time.

Lucario, -We are back, Meema.-

Diance, -We had a fun time getting ice cream. I helped two girls get their Pokemon back after a mix up happened.-

Ash grinned, "Good job sweetheart, I am sure those kids were happy."

Lucario, -Go play with your siblings, Diance. I need to talk with Meema.-

Diance, -Okay Lucario, guys, girls, let me tell you about my adventure.-

Ash watched her go then turned to the Aura Pokemon, "Something happened when you wee outside."

Lucario grunted, -You could say that. I was approached by quiet the righteous Lugia, a brat if you will.-

Ash raised an eyebrow, "Oh dear! What did they do? Are they alright?"

Lucario, -I scolded him till he sniffled like a baby. He was judging your methods of raising Diance actually. I gave him a piece of my mind. Humph!-

Ash, "Ah! Poor thing must be traumatized. I bet no one scolded him before."

Lucario, -Certainly looked that way. Either way, are you ready for tomorrow's match?-

Ash nodded smiling, "The training has gone without any hitches. Everyone is healthy and relaxed today. We are ready for tomorrow. I just feel a little bad for Kingler and Wigglytuff though."

Lucario, -Why? Oh! Wattson's high level Pokemon are on alert around the City for team Magma and Aqua.-

Ash, "Yeah, no high level Pokemon battle this week. Maybe if we run into Wattson in the future we can have a battle."

Before Lucario could say anything else a loud alarm went through the City making them rush outside to check the commotion. Ash looked up and saw smoke coming from the direction of Wattson's gym and got worried. May and Gou joined them looking worried as well, Ruby had taken Max and Molly on a tour to the gym as a promise to spend time together. They had a silent agreement and rushed out of the Pokemon centre, it had just been two hours ago Ruby, Max and Molly left. They could be outside the burning building not inside it, at lean worse.st they prayed that was the case as they weaved through the evening crowd who were now watching the tower. Gou took out his ground types and ordered to grab sand and throw it at the fire. Ash warned the other trainers to use sand moves as using water may trigger the electric wires making the situation worse.

Ruby appeared on his Flygon, "Ash, May, Gou."

Max, "Sis."

Molly, "Cousin."

Gou, "Are you three okay? What happened?"

Ruby, "Team Magma happened. They wanted one of Wattson's super generators."

Ash, "For what possible reason? Those generators are connected to the ground like literally because of the high voltage they produce. Removing them would be foolish and dangerous... Unless that was not their target."

Ruby, "Yes, they wanted the generator's core, not the generator itself."

Wattson appeared looking worse for wear amid questions, "I am okay. I am okay, They did not get what they were searching for although the Gym will be shut down till further notice. The battles will be transferred to the old Gym. You all know where that is."

Gou drawled, "The old lighthouse. But wasn't that destroyed?"

Wattson grinned, "Oh! That is the location, but don't worry, it has it's own battle grounds. A water battle ground obviously, a sandy battle ground and of course a rocky battle ground. It is temporary of course but the fight must go on before the tower is accessible again."

Ash hummed, "As great as that is to know, perhaps we should get you a check up first, Sir Wattson. Your hands are shaking."

Manectric turned to Wattson with worried looks at that, "Rrrrruc."

Wattson, "I am fine. Do not worry too much about me."

Just as Wattson was about to show them how healthy he was, his assistant came and poked his back and he shrieked. The young assistant was not impressed and promptly dragged the protesting old man to the hospital. Lucario snorted while the trainers grinned at the very energetic old man, they were just happy he was alive and safe as Manectric ignored Wattson's pleas for help. Ash noticed amused that the man was highly beloved by everyone in town and half wondered if he should make a character based on him for his next book. Something to worry about later now they focused on helping the fire brigade put the fire out. Ash looked around frowning feeling like he was being watched but saw no one, though Lucario looked exasperated. He hoped it was nothing important or big because heaven knows he already has a lot on his plate, trainer or not.

Lucario, -Meema, whatever you do. Keep a count of your pokeballs.-

Ash, "Of course Lucario, but why? Is there something I am missing here?"

Lucario sighed, -Just humor me, please?-

Ash raised an eyebrow but did not protest, "Alright but after tomorrow's battle you are explaining to me why."
