Pokémon: My Mom Is A Gardevoir

Chapter 152: Chapter 152 ⇾ I'm Just Asking

The girl was stunned by Cole's words and finally angrily took out a Poké Ball, releasing a Pokémon that looked like a teacup.

"Then I'll use this Sinistea as collateral. This is a rare Ghost-type Pokémon, one of these is worth your two Pancham! And the teacup my Sinistea inhabits is a genuine antique! If you really manage to win it, you should count yourself lucky!"

Sinistea still didn't know what was happening. Its teacup-shaped body bumped around on the ground with a clinking sound, looking bewildered at its surroundings. Then, frightened, it ducked into the teacup with a "whoosh", disguising itself as a real teacup.

Some antique — who knows if what she's saying is true? It's said that most teacups inhabited by Sinistea are just fakes.

Cole pursed his lips and said, "Although I'm getting the short end of the deal, since you're a girl, I'll go with it."

The girl: (╬≖_≖)

She was furious. She gritted her teeth and said quietly to Cole, "Don't think you can beat me just because you're a psychic."

Cole smiled and said nothing. His nonchalant attitude infuriated the girl even more.

At this moment, the girl suddenly pointed at Daisy beside him and shouted, "You're not allowed to use this Gardevoir! It's probably not even your Pokémon!"

Cole had never seen someone so shameless, but after thinking about it, he decided to just let her have her way for now.

"Fine, I won't use her then."

The girl felt that she had achieved her goal and smiled smugly.

"My name is Sana. Remember my name — I'm the one who's going to rescue the Pancham from you today!" The girl proactively introduced herself.

{T/N: I couldn't find any canon character. Serena's name doesn't match the Chinese character of the name. I researched and Shauna also came up, but it doesn't match the description, age or timeline.}

She's really deep into her role, beyond help.

Cole spread his hands and said, "You don't need to know my name. Your Sinistea won't remember your name either in the future."

The girl: (▼ヘ▼#)

She couldn't understand why everything this boy said was so irritating.

This was the Pokémon Center, a place where trainers naturally gathered, so it had basic facilities like a battle arena.

After the two took their positions on opposite sides of the arena, onlookers began to gather around.

Sana took out her Poké Ball with an "I'm going easy on you" expression and said, "Since I'm older than you, I'll take a disadvantage and send out my Pokémon first!"

With a flash of red light, a majestic Sirfetch'd appeared on the field.

Sirfetch'd is a Fighting-type Pokémon unique to Galar. It's said that only Farfetch'd from this region that have experienced countless battles can evolve into this final form.

Seeing this Sirfetch'd, the other trainers outside the arena began discussing among themselves, as this Pokémon was Sana's ace, which had helped her win numerous awards in various competitions.

"Looks like Sana is determined to get those two Pancham!"

"That's so like her — always picking on young trainers."

"Then thank you, big sis!"

Cole laughed cheerfully, but somehow, Sana felt that his smile was quite irritating.

He then took out a Poké Ball, and with a flash of red light, Heliolisk appeared on the field.

"Helio~"

Heliolisk raised its eyebrows at Sirfetch'd, its gaze revealing contempt, which almost made the bird charge forward with its sword.

This trainer and Pokémon are equally irritating!

The ability patch on Heliolisk's forehead had now been removed, and its ability had successfully changed from Dry Skin to Solar Power.

What especially delighted it was that after the ability change, Heliolisk found its efficiency in absorbing solar energy and converting it to electrical energy had greatly improved!

This was truly an unexpected joy, showing that a Pokémon's ability affects not just battles but permeates all aspects of daily life and training.

Although the ability patch had been removed, the power anklets on Heliolisk's feet were still there, and Sana across the field had noticed this.

She confidently said, "You can remove the weights from Heliolisk's feet, so nobody can say I won unfairly."

Cole shook his head and said, "That won't be necessary. If I lose, it'll definitely be my own fault."

Sana: (▼へ▼メ)

Seriously, she felt she couldn't say a single word to that boy without becoming furious. She felt like her chest was swelling with anger!

"Enough talk, let's begin!" Sana said in fury, "Since you're so ungrateful, don't blame me for not showing mercy."

Cole thought: We don't have any rapport between us...

"Sirfetch'd, First Impression!"

"Sir~"

Sirfetch'd narrowed its eyes, thrust its leek sword forward, and disappeared from its spot in the next second, transforming into a blur as it attacked Heliolisk.

Cole thought: It really does have some skill, no wonder she's so confident!

As expected, Sirfetch'd's attack missed. Its leek sword only pierced an afterimage of Heliolisk — the real gecko was already behind it.

Although Heliolisk was wearing weights that slowed it down, it was still far more agile than this bird.

Heliolisk was bathed in electric light. It used Quick Attack while simultaneously employing Magnet Rise, allowing it to glide at low altitude and dramatically reduce air resistance during its movement.

In the next instant, the entire field was blanketed in golden electric light as Heliolisk activated Electric Terrain.

"Sirfetch'd, use Fury Cutter!" Sana commanded.

"Sir~"

The bird Pokémon lunged forward with its sword, reaching the gecko's side in the blink of an eye.

Heliolisk remained composed. When Sirfetch'd swung its sword, Heliolisk simply lowered its head — effortlessly dodging the incoming leek blade — then swiftly countered with its tail.

Sirfetch'd's reactions were impressively quick. As Heliolisk's Dragon Tail whipped toward it, the bird raised its shield to block.

With a "boom", Sirfetch'd was sent flying. Though Dragon Tail might not cause significant damage, its knockback effect was something the bird couldn't defend against, even with its shield.

Seeing Sirfetch'd crash to the ground, Sana's expression changed drastically. Before she could say anything, a pillar of lightning descended from the sky, striking Sirfetch'd directly on its head.

Boom!

Thunder roared as dust billowed from the ground.

"Sirfetch'd!!!" Sana cried out.

"Holy crap!!" A trainer outside the field exclaimed, "I completely misjudged this! This little brother is incredibly strong. Is Sana going to lose?"

"Yeah, he's amazing! Where did this kid come from? I've never seen him before!"

"He's probably not from Wyndon. Heliolisk is uncommon in Galar — they mostly inhabit Kalos."

...

The trainers outside buzzed with discussion while Sana began to panic, her earlier confidence completely vanishing from her face.

As the dust cleared, Sirfetch'd was kneeling on its sword, covered in wounds, but had not lost its ability to fight.

Cole smiled at her and said, "Big sis is really strong. Sirfetch'd is still standing — I'm so impressed!"

Damn it! Sana really wanted to curse. Is this kid mocking me? He is, right? He definitely is!

"Sirfetch'd, use Fury Attack!" She shouted in exasperation.

Sirfetch'd suddenly stood up, its body emitting a blue light. It rapidly swung its leek sword, creating gusts of wind as it fiercely slashed at Heliolisk again and again.

Heliolisk kept shifting its body, leaving afterimages across the field. No matter how hard Sirfetch'd tried, it couldn't even touch a shadow of the opponent.

At this point, both Sana and Sirfetch'd were becoming extremely agitated.

Just as Sirfetch'd was about to approach and attack again, Heliolisk's neck frill suddenly opened wide. A powerful light burst forth, instantly blinding the opponent.

RUMBLE!!!

Thunder rumbled, and in the next second, a lightning dragon descended from the sky, roaring and lunging at Sirfetch'd with its claws extended.

"Sirfetch'd, dodge quickly!" Sana shouted.

But at that moment, Sirfetch'd had already fallen into panic and confusion due to the complete darkness before its eyes and couldn't possibly hear its trainer's voice.

With a painful cry, it was swallowed by the lightning dragon. When the lightning dissipated, it lay unconscious on the ground.

"That kid really won! He's incredible for his young age!" Exclaimed one trainer.

"Does anyone know this little brother's name? I'd like to get to know him." Said a young woman who was captivated by Cole's impressive demeanor.

"I hope this little brother won't be bullied by Sana's supporters tomorrow." Another trainer said with a worried expression.

Looking at Sirfetch'd lying motionless on the ground, Sana said in disbelief, "I lost... I actually lost..."

"Big sis!" Cole reminded her, "I won, shouldn't you give me Sinistea now?"

"Kid, what's your name?" Sana stared intently at him.

"Hehe~ I'm not telling you!" Cole said mischievously.

Sana: (╬⊙▂⊙)

"If you don't tell me, I won't give you Sinistea!" She threatened.

Cole shrugged indifferently and said, "If you don't give it to me, I'll just have to go find Nurse Joy!"

Hearing this, Sana's expression finally changed. She reluctantly took out Sinistea's Poké Ball and threw it forcefully at Cole.

"Kid, you better watch out!"

"Teehee, thank you, big sis!" Cole caught the Poké Ball and left the battlefield amid the admiring gazes of many trainers.

By the time someone came after him, he had already vanished.

In fact, early the next morning, a group of people were searching for Cole near the Pokémon Center in Wyndon, but unfortunately, he was already sitting on a transport back to Kalos.

Public transportation was certainly not as comfortable as Lysandre's private aircraft, nor was it as fast. Several days later, Cole finally returned to Mt. Ascendant, travel-worn.

The Pokémon at home were all overjoyed to see him return. They hadn't had their "special treatment" for several days and had been desperately missing it.

Surrounded by the enthusiastic Pokémon, Cole happily shouted, "Tonight everyone gets special treatment!"

Hearing these words, all the Pokémon erupted in thunderous cheers.

Alfred was also at Mt. Ascendant that day, having come to house-sit for Cole, and was currently doing homework inside.

Upon hearing the cheers outside, he guessed that Cole might have returned, so he quickly threw down his homework and ran out. Looking around, he confirmed it was indeed his brother who had returned.

"Cole!"

"Brother Alfred!"

The brothers' faces lit up with joy.

"How did it go? Everything smooth?"

Alfred was referring to the matter with Cottonee and Whimsicott. He knew the reason why Cole had been delayed in returning.

Cole smiled and answered, "Everything went perfectly!"

He then took out the Poké Balls containing Cottonee and Whimsicott and released them all.

"Cottoo~"

"Whimsi~"

After emerging, the Cottonee and Whimsicott curiously examined their unfamiliar surroundings, people, and Pokémon.

"Everyone, this is Mt. Ascendant, where you'll be living and working from now on." Cole told them.

The earth of Mt. Ascendant contained dormant power from Landorus and Enamorus, giving off a vibrant energy that the Cottonee and Whimsicott felt immediately upon their release.

Love at first sight was probably the best description — they fell in love with Mt. Ascendant at first glance.

"So these are Cottonee and Whimsicott!" Alfred looked in amazement at these cute Pokémon. It was his first time seeing them in real life.

"Mmhm!" Cole nodded enthusiastically, "From now on, they can handle the orchard's pollination, and they're also excellent at making fertilizer!"

"Our orchard is becoming more and more prosperous!" Alfred felt a surge of emotion as a sense of accomplishment welled up inside him.

The Cottonee and Whimsicott were welcomed by all the Pokémon on the mountain. Everyone's warm attitude immediately dispelled their anxiety and awkwardness.

Some arranged accommodations for them, some took them on tours of the orchard, and some gave them gifts — like a certain happy green bean... The entire Mt. Ascendant became lively.

The two Corviknight were also released by Cole. Though initially stunned by the numerous Talonflame, they quickly integrated into the group thanks to the Talonflame's friendly attitude.

The only ones who didn't fit in were the Pangoro family. They huddled alone in a corner, completely isolated from everyone else.

The Pokémon on the mountain had already learned about the Pangoro family's past misdeeds from Cottonee and Whimsicott, and their gazes toward them were full of disdain.

That evening, as promised, Cole gave all the Pokémon their special treatment.

By now, he could perform the treatments very quickly. The Pokémon emerged one after another with radiant faces, as if they had been photographed with a beauty filter.

One Pancham, curious about what everyone was doing in that room, quietly stopped a small Fletchling that had just come out.

"Hey, you, come here. What are you all doing in there?"

The Fletchling looked at it as if it were an idiot. Displeased with the Pancham's previously arrogant attitude, it flapped its wings vigorously, creating a gust that sent the Pancham tumbling head over heels several times.

Pancham:◝(꒪່౪̮꒪່)◜

I was just asking!
