Chapter 80: Ch-80

The scene continues:

[Two Trainers start to battle against Entei.]

[A Trainer named Souji joins them, bringing Lucario from Veilstone City in the Sinnoh Region.]

[After the arrival of the small theater version protagonist group, the three begin to attack Entei simultaneously.]

[However, at this time, the three are just fledgling rookie Trainers.]

[They are no match for the legendary Entei.]

[Even when they join forces, they are easily defeated by the sacred flames of Entei.]

[Trainers and Pokémon who dare to challenge Entei are attacked by this burning flame!]

[Entei, however, immediately recognizes Ash's identity as the future King of the Rainbow.]

[So, despite defeating Ash, Entei refrains from using fire to attack Pikachu and Ash's friends.]

[Instead, Entei gives them a meaningful look and leaves.]

Had Entei attacked...

Wouldn't it risk being reprimanded by its leader, Ho-Oh?

"With the Rainbow Wing in Ash's possession, he has been recognized by the legendary Pokémon Ho-Oh as a hero."

"As Ho-Oh's chosen hero, Ash is undergoing a critical test phase—to prove he has a pure and untainted heart, a deep love for Pokémon, and unwavering righteousness."

"Therefore, Entei would never attack Ash," Professor Oak explained from the champion guest seats.

"Hahaha, if Entei acted recklessly, it might accidentally injure Ash and Pikachu," Dodo laughed heartily. "Then it would have to answer to Ho-Oh over tea!"

In the past, when a Pokémon League Trainer encountered a legendary Pokémon, they would usually exchange greetings and go their separate ways without conflict.

However, if faced with a fierce fire-type Pokémon like Entei or Moltres, battles were often unavoidable. Elite Four-level Trainers might have the strength to engage in a fight, but even then, the battles would end with both sides retreating, often exhausted.

Weaker Trainers, on the other hand, had no such luxury. If they provoked a legendary Pokémon, they would face overwhelming defeat and possibly severe consequences.

But with Ash, it was different.

His strength wasn't yet at the Elite Four level, yet he still dared to challenge Entei. Remarkably, while others were scorched by Entei's flames, Ash and Pikachu emerged unscathed.

Everyone quickly understood: Ash had a special status—he was recognized by the legendary beast as one of its own.

This newfound identity thrilled the audience!

Meanwhile, Team Rocket, back in the Kanto Region, seethed with jealousy.

"Why does that brat always get special treatment?" they fumed.

The scene continues:

Kanto Region, outside the Celadon City forest—

[Although Entei left, Ash found himself in another battle with Joko.]

[Their actions inadvertently angered a sleeping Onix.]

[Enraged at being disturbed, Onix charged toward Ash and Joko without hesitation.]

[Seeing no other option, Ash and Joko fled.]

Audience reactions:

"No, why are you running?!"

"Joko's Piplup is a water type, which has a four-times advantage over Onix! One move could defeat it!"

"Ash's Pikachu can handle it too! Sure, Onix is a ground type, but when has that ever stopped Ash? He loves defying type disadvantages!"

The audience erupted into commentary.

The scene continues:

[Onix's rampage caused chaos, disturbing many nearby Pokémon and destroying their habitats.]

[Realizing the harm caused, Ash bravely jumped in front of Onix, spreading his arms wide to stop it.]

[Faced with Ash's courage and compassion, Onix calmed down and retreated underground, sparing the surrounding area from further destruction.]

[After resolving the incident, Ash and Joko became close friends.]

[Later, as the weather changed, dark clouds swallowed the sunset, and a fierce hurricane rain began to fall.]

[Despite the storm, Ash and Joko pressed on, determined to move forward.]

[It was during this storm that Ash encountered one of his most iconic Pokémon—Charmander.]

[Although familiar, the encounter carried a few twists.]

Audience reactions:

"Ugh, I want to see the Trainer who abandoned Charmander."

"They'll regret it so much when they find out that Charmander evolves into a Charizard capable of defeating legendary Pokémon like Articuno!"

"Right? You gave up on Charmander because it was weak, and now it's one of the strongest!"

"Too bad for you. That bond between Ash and Charizard has nothing to do with you!"

Thankfully, everyone knew that the future would turn out better for Charmander.

Back at the Pokémon League, President Damaranch watched Ash with a meaningful expression. He reflected on the stark contrast between selfish Trainers who abandon Pokémon for their weaknesses and Ash, who stands by them no matter what.

Perhaps it was Ash's passion and love for Pokémon that earned him Ho-Oh's recognition and the Rainbow Wing.

The scene continues:

[As Charmander's life flickered, Ash removed his coat in the freezing storm, holding Charmander close to keep its body temperature stable.]

[With Joko's help, they brought Charmander to a cave where they encountered Souji, who was taking shelter.]

[Under their careful care, Charmander recovered, and its fiery spirit reignited.]

[In the quiet of the night, Pikachu cuddled with Ash for warmth, showcasing their unbreakable bond.]

Audience reactions:

"Pikachu's so lucky to have Ash! It gets all the affection and warmth."

In the Kalos Region, a certain woman watched this scene in awe.

"It's so easy for him to connect with Ash?"

The scene concludes:

[By morning, Charmander was fully recovered and agreed to join Ash's team.]

[Thus began the journey of the first ordinary Pokémon to defeat a legendary Pokémon in the series—Charizard.]
