Pokemon: I am Gary

Chapter 105: Chapter 105: Mewtwo's Invitation

After spending three days in the recording studio, the brand new theme song for the official Indigo League events was hot off the press.

With the upcoming Indigo League, the song " Pokémon!Gotta catch 'em all" sung by Gary instantly became a hit throughout the league.

On every street corner, one could hear:

"I wanna be the very best

Like no one ever was

To catch them is my real test

To train them is my cause

I will travel across the land

Searching far and wide

Teach Pokémon to understand

The power that's inside

"

This song was so popular that even Ash would hum a few lines!

However, Gary himself was too busy to pay attention to these things.

Gary was at the port of New Island.

After finishing the theme song, he received an invitation from Dragonite.

"I'm at New Island; friends come find me."

Mewtwo's way with words is truly... concise!

Despite this, Gary still came. He made up some excuse and headed alone to the port of New Island.

Still, that's Mewtwo after all—a shining beacon for countless Pokémon fans!

Looking at the stormy sea surrounding New Island, Gary did not act rashly.

The heavy rain was too exhilarating for Charizard; he didn't want to take any risks.

"Hey! We're here!" Just as Gary was considering borrowing a Pidgeot from Lorelei, a small boat approached.

Seeing the trio from Team Rocket dressed in Nordic style, Gary couldn't help but twitch his mouth. "What are you three up to again?"

"Boss, are you planning to go out to sea? We're here to escort you," Jessie said confidently.

"That's right! Don't worry; our boat is famously fast..." James added.

Gary rolled his eyes. More like it sinks particularly fast...

"Meow~ Meow! Help me!" Meowth, tied up at the bow and acting as a mascot, had already started crying.

"Alright, you guys quickly put Meowth down," Gary shook his head helplessly.

Once freed, Meowth hugged Gary's leg. "Meow~ I'm saved! Boss, you have to manage them; they're not human... Who uses Meowth as a mascot?!"

"When opening a shop, it should be fine," Gary suddenly thought.

Jessie and James's eyes lit up. Right! They could save on buying a lucky cat!

"I'm on a secret mission this time, so don't drag me down," Gary waved his hand dismissively.

"Eh? But... what do we do then?" Jessie murmured softly.

"Fine~" Gary sighed. "The Indigo League is about to start; you three go set up a stall and make some money during this time! Got it?"

"Yes! Boss!" Upon hearing that their task was setting up a stall, the trio perked up immediately.

"Let me plan some absolutely sell-out products!" Meowth excitedly raised his fist.

"Then we'll take our leave! Wishing you great luck!" The trio from Team Rocket saluted solemnly before turning to row away...

After sending off the trio, Gary continued to daydream. Unexpectedly, there were many guests today.

"Your package; please sign for it!" A female courier with a mushroom haircut and round glasses held a small gift box.

"Matori... Has anyone told you that your disguise is really bad?" Gary pointed out tiredly.

"Huh? You recognized me?" Matori took off her hat in surprise.

"You didn't even bother changing your hairstyle; how could I not recognize you?" Gary felt utterly drained from this conversation.

"Ahem, well, knowing you're going to New Island, Boss Giovanni specifically asked me to bring this over."

Gary took the luxury ball from Matori's hands and understood that Uncle Giovanni was sending him timely help.

"By the way, did Uncle Giovanni say anything else?" Gary asked curiously.

"Yes! Boss Giovanni asked me to inform you that you can deal with that traitor as you see fit. He has other options; if you have the ability, capturing him isn't out of the question~," Matori remarked thoughtfully.

Although both the Storm Plan and Quick Action Plan in the Unova region had made significant progress, being able to easily give up such legendary-level assistance shows how much Uncle Giovanni dotes on Green Cadre…

Gary smiled slightly. "Please thank Uncle Giovanni for me."

"You're too kind; I'll take my leave now." Leaving behind the luxury ball, Matori bowed her head and turned to leave.

In Deep Mountain of Viridian City—Team Rocket's new headquarters.

"I disagree! Mewtwo is very important for our combat capability; how can we hand it over to someone unclear like that!" Proton shouted while slamming his hand on the table with his green hair standing out prominently.

"You better not say 'Green Young Master' again! I'll make sure you regret it!" Archer shouted back angrily.

Determined to become a big shot in Team Rocket, Proton could not tolerate someone who came later stealing his victory and retorted fiercely. "Are you sick? Uncle Giovanni said he's just someone who once saved him; he's not Giovanni's biological son!"

"I'll screw your grandpa! You act like you're Giovanni's biological son!" Archer scoffed disdainfully.

"Alright~" A deep voice came from the main seat as both men instantly fell silent.

With a right hand adorned with a ruby ring stroking beside him on Persian, his tone turned icy. "What? Now my words don't count?"

A sharp aura suddenly fell upon Proton; he immediately broke out in cold sweat.

"Boss, please calm down; I'm loyal to you!" Proton knelt on one knee and assured loudly.

"Hmph! If it weren't for Green advising me to let Team Rocket reform and go straight, you'd have two more holes today—one on your head and one in your heart." Giovanni snorted coldly.

"Yes! Thank you very much." Proton bowed his head but his eyes were filled with hatred.

Why! Why can't Boss see my good side? I finally drove that damned Gin away! Now there's another Green!

You all must die! Only I can inherit Boss Giovanni's dark empire!!

Looking at Proton's bowed head, Ariana smirked mockingly. If she could see through Proton's little schemes so easily, how could Boss Giovanni not know?

The reason Giovanni kept Proton in charge of the Johto division was partly because this guy was meticulous and ruthless—one of the top two among the Four Commanders—and partly because he was a die-hard fan of Giovanni. As long as Giovanni held power for one day, he would never betray him.

"But~ if one day there really needs to be a transfer of power. Someone like Proton will definitely be the first to die~," Ariana thought silently with a smile.

"Alright everyone returns to work; all plans regarding Mewtwo are paused. From now on, reports about Mewtwo will go directly to Cadre Green." Uncle Giovanni decisively concluded.

"Yes! Boss!" The Four Commanders lowered their heads in acceptance.

"The most important things right now are Quick Action Plan and Storm Plan. Petrel, keep an eye on Plasma Gang; if necessary, you're allowed some leeway."

"Don't worry about it~," Petrel said slyly while licking his lips. "That big idiot Qiqisi is still dreaming about unifying the world."

Little does he know that I've already planted spies within Plasma Gang. If needed, just a little nerve poison will send him sky-high~"

Giovanni nodded in satisfaction. "Dismissed."

While considering what Gary mentioned about transformation, Team Rocket is still rooted in dark powers after all.

"I can handle this dirty work myself," Giovanni thought deeply.

Maybe when Gary reformed Team Rocket someday, that kid might forgive me just a little...

"Heheh! The boss is brilliant!" Archer glanced proudly at Proton before turning away with satisfaction.

"Boring~," Ariana rolled her eyes at Archer before swaying her slim waist as she left too.

Only Proton left with resentment flashing in his eyes as he walked away without lifting his head.

Petrel looked towards Giovanni and made a slicing motion across his neck with his right hand. "Boss, do you need me?"

Uncle Giovanni replied in a low tone: "Not for now..."

Petrel regretfully shook his head and turned away... At New Island port, Gary opened the luxury ball in his hand. Inside was surprisingly a luxurious flying mount from Unova region.

Looking at the majestic Braviary before him, Gary tapped his temple lightly.

Braviary

Qualification: King-level

Ability: Defiant

Level: 55

Height: 1,5 meters

Weight: 60 kg

"Wow…" As he stroked the obedient Braviary's feathers excitedly inside him burned with passion—this isn't just any flying mount; this is like an aircraft!"

With such an extensive skill pool and such obedient compliance even Gary had to give a thumbs up and exclaim how great it was!

"Let's go!" Climbing onto Braviary's back, Gary pointed towards the storm ahead.

Braviary flapped its wings creating strong winds that tore through dark clouds as it soared upwards.

Looking towards New Island ahead of him Gary murmured softly: "Mewtwo... here I come!"
