Pokémon: Breeding Simulator

Chapter 240: Pokémon: Breeding Simulator [240]

[You may select one Pokémon from the following]:

[Zoroark (Unavailable), Lucario (Unavailable)]

Seeing the message displayed on the panel, several question marks appeared above Elias's head.

Has this broken system finally crashed?

He understood why Zoroark couldn't be chosen—but why Lucario, too?

Lucario wasn't a legendary Pokémon, nor did he have any unusual traits.

So why wasn't he available?

Disbelievingly, Elias tried reloading the panel several times, but nothing changed.

Could it be because the Hisui era was so long ago? Elias wondered uneasily.

This was exactly what worried him the most.

After all, hundreds of years had passed since the simulation—Hisui had long since become modern-day Sinnoh.

Very few Pokémon could live for that long.

If Lucario's unavailability was for the same reason, that would truly be awful.

Moreover…

Irida, Cogita… I wonder how they ended up.

Elias sighed quietly, concern tugging at his heart.

Calming himself, he turned his attention to the rewards he'd just received.

First was the [Spooky Plate].

With a thought, a purple, tablet-like Plate appeared, floating in midair.

Instantly, a powerful Ghost-type aura filled the space, bringing clarity to his muddled thoughts.

This Plate looked identical to the one he'd given Zoroark earlier.

But…

Both its luster and its energy felt significantly stronger than the one from Hisui—like the difference between an original and a cheap imitation.

Don't tell me I actually pulled the real thing away from Arceus itself?

Elias's eyelids twitched at the thought.

It was the only explanation for such a huge difference in power.

Recalling that he had another Plate to choose, Elias suspected it would be similarly authentic.

After storing the Spooky Plate, he quickly navigated to the selection screen.

Indeed, the Plate selection appeared promptly—every type was available except Ghost, now grayed out.

Without hesitation, Elias selected the [Mind Plate].

Most of his Pokémon had Psychic abilities, so this choice would greatly benefit his team.

A flash of white light later, a pink [Mind Plate] materialized in the air, equally authentic and potent.

With this, Gardevoir's power should grow significantly.

"The rewards this time really are incredible," Elias muttered softly as he stored the Plate.

The benefits he'd received this time were comprehensive.

Not only were his Pokémon stronger, but he'd also gained two new abilities himself—the [Power of Viridian] and [Aura Power].

"Right…"

"System, show yourself!"

Having finished organizing his items, Elias spoke aloud to the air.

The system's cheerful voice answered immediately.

[Host! I'm here…hehe…I'm right here!]

The system sounded overly excited, unable to hide its joy.

Looking at Elias, it felt an indescribable sense of happiness.

S+! An actual S+ rating!

Even an S- rating was considered a lifetime dream for most systems—let alone S+!

Usually, a host getting even one S-level rating was rare enough to cause celebration.

Yet, after only three simulations, Elias had achieved S or higher every single time, culminating in this unprecedented S+!

Experienced senior systems had flooded her with questions about how she managed such an impossible feat.

She hadn't done anything special herself, except say "Simulation Start." Naturally, she just offered vague responses to keep up appearances.

But regardless of her nonsensical answers, her reputation had skyrocketed.

And it was all thanks to her brilliant choice of a host—Elias!

"Host, please ask anything you want! Anything at all!"

"I promise I'll fulfill every single request!" the system declared with absolute determination.

Elias was everything to her—this was a truth she'd long since accepted.

If something happened to him, she'd be done for as well.

Fulfilling all his desires had become her top priority.

Seeing the system so enthusiastic, Elias felt slightly uncomfortable.

"Do you know why Cynthia appeared in Hisui?" he asked, voicing his earlier question.

"Yes, yes, I do," the system quickly responded.

"Remember when I said I'd prepared a little surprise for you?"

"Well, it was exactly this. Cynthia, being the Sinnoh Champion, would significantly boost your simulation rating."

She explained carefully. The idea had come to her after noticing Elias's habit of befriending regional champions.

"So you sent her there yourself?" Elias questioned skeptically. Since when was this useless system capable of something so impressive?

"As long as we have enough points, that's an easy task," the system replied proudly.

With this, Elias's doubts cleared up somewhat, leading him to his next question:

"What about Lucario? Why can't he be selected?"

He still felt resentful that both Pokémon he'd bonded with remained off-limits.

"Well…"

"There might be certain circumstances preventing Lucario from being selected right now," the system said uncertainly.

Elias: "..."

Wonderful. This system's skill at stating the obvious has truly reached new heights.

Clearly, relying on it was still useless.

Perhaps due to irritation at the system's answer, Elias suddenly felt his vision grow dim.

"Ah, Host!" The system's panicked voice squeaked sharply.

She'd been so focused on celebrating that she'd forgotten to mention something important.

"Because your method of ending the simulation this time was unusual, your mental exhaustion is extremely high," the system explained gently.

"You should rest well first."

As she spoke, Elias's consciousness had already grown fuzzy, waves of fatigue washing over him.

Noticing him drifting toward sleep, the system thoughtfully activated Sleep Mode, blocking out all external disturbances.

This premium feature cost her performance points, but Elias deserved only the best quality rest!

Just before slipping away completely, Elias caught a brief glimpse of a familiar figure—

A pristine white gown.

Was that…Gardevoir?

Before he could think further, darkness overtook him, and he drifted into a deep sleep.
